Sticking to guidelines and noting any family history of allergies, of course, I personally don't think it's a good thing to delay lots of things - tis one of the ways kids can become fussy. Well, at least that's how it went with my kids...with my first I was all nervous about what to give her and when and she had a reasonably bland diet for the first few months on solids...even now at 8 (well, 8 on Sunday *cry - how it flies!*) she is the fussiest out of my two. By the time I came to have #2, my grandmother had clucked at me enough times for it to sink in that for generations, and in cultures the world-over, mums have just given their kids what's available, nutritious and generally what everyone else in the family is eating. She couldn't understand why I was stressing so much about it - she said just watch for allergies and let them explore their palate. Which I did and I'm glad - Mr 4 will eat anything now!
