Honestly, thanks all. Right now, with the wedding, everything is on hold with plans because we're moving again and I'm starting a new job (same place, just tranferred) on Monday so I'm waiting until I've hit 2 weeks in the new job then gonna start doing the last minute things.
I've been up since 7:30am this morning (tis SUCH a nice change compared to the 5am starts!) and taken DF to work, driven (in peak hour!) from his work to mine for my uniform fitting, had something to eat at work because I think thats the only time I'll get to eat AT ALL today - my old boss chucked the s**ts at me for that but I just shrugged and kept eating, got back towards our house, dropped off a letter to our real estate agent, went shopping for a roll of tape to do our boxes up with, picked up a parcel I needed to pick up, got a boost juice and got home! I'm now home and have about 3/4 hours to clean before I need to pick up DF from work... Then when we get home, cleaning for another hour, leave home at 4:30/5pm today and stay at the hotel room that I'd booked for us... I think we need that time together not to stress or such. *phew*
So now I'm off to go clean for a while.. When I have a little break, I'll pop on again and do personals and let you know more info about the wedding :)
-
Wow you are busy LJ!!! I used to tell my old boss when I worked with food 'Well I paid for it so I am a customer. Do you tell all of your customers they arent allowed to eat here?' well I told him that just before he got sacked anyway
Want some boxes? I have few that the movers wont collect. Nah too far to travel for a boot load of boxes
Well I just organised our contents insurance. Apparently there hasn't been a cyclone up here for 10 years so they reckon we will get one this wet season. I will believe it when I see it coz that 'storm' we were supposed to have is still nowhere in sight, still blue as skies!!
Sarah fell asleep on me on the couch. I put her in bed an hour and a half ago. I hope she feels better after some rest
I am counting down the minutes till DH should get home. I am expecting him at usual knock off time but anything earlier I will be happy with.
-
Ali - The thing is, where I work (Burswood Entertainment Complex - the casino and such) the meals are provided free of charge, and apparently because I wasn't working is why I wasn't allowed to get anything to eat! I was still there for a work related thing (getting my uniform fitted) so I have no idea why I wouldn't be allowed! I just shrugged her off and said whatever anyways :P
When you asked about the rings, do you mean the wedding rings or the engagement ring? I'll take a photo of both later today, I'll take a photo of our invites too, just to show you how clever my MIL is! She's such a lovely lady... Speaking of which, she was getting a tooth pulled today, should message her and see how she's feeling......
Holly - Nah, no storms yet, though it's a little overcast. My DF actually proposed to me exactly a month after I lost our unexpected surprise *points to sig* The next day he was having surgery and he basically said he wanted me to know how much he loved me by proposing to me, in case anything happened to him on the operating table. I thought it was so cute! I'd say the trick is to break or shatter a bone in his arm or leg and before he goes into surgery to try and get him to propose! LOL! Just kidding, don't do that.. No trick here! How long have you two been together? My DF actually proposed by taking me out on a date... that mirrored exactly how our first date went! He picked the clothes I wore and EVERYTHING! He even asked my dads permission the weekend before he did it! I'll go into the full story later :) Our wedding is 10th Jan 2009 and the color theme is blue and white.
Amy - You should talk about what you had for dinner :P
Kirra - Walk past jewellers and say 'Oh, isn't that ring lovely dear!' Doubt he'll get the message, but he'll get an idea of what you like for when he does finally propose!
I'm so tired! But there's more to do! UGH!
Anyways, I'll do other personals soon, here's a list of stuff to do with our wedding (for those of you interested)
Celebrant - We've had that since March this year - Ms Stacey Morris - Such a nice lady! We've organised a rehersal with her for the 8th of Jan, which will be us going over certain things
Ceremony Music - The celebrant has organised that.
Dresses - Mine is good to go, but I've not even started on the girls because the first one has just had her bub (on Wednesday) and the second one is on prac with tafe and I can't seem to get to spend ANY time with her because she's always busy with assignments and prac's
Flowers - DFs uncle owns a florist and the flowers that WOULD be $400+ are only going to be $210 :P Gotta love family discounts ;)
Hair and Makeup - If my mum can make it over, she's doing it, but if she can't... I'm doing the girls and the girls are doing mine.
Hens night - Not even thought about it... I wanna go out and have a few drinks, but my head bridesmaid says 'Oh we can go to the movies then go home and do facials' and I was like 'Oh yay......'
Cars - We're not going to bother with limos - We have two friends hiring two cars for the day of the wedding and they're gonna be our designated drivers as their present to us! I thought that was sweet :)
Photographer - We've got two friends, one mine and one his, and they're both great photographers, so we have gone against having a professional because we like and trust their skills. Plus we've got about 10 disposable cameras that will be going around during the night!
Rings - Had bought them for a while. Mine is plain with a few little diamontes at the front and DFs is just plain gold. Both were supposed to be $800 but, knowing the right people again, we got them for $544
Invites - We made our own.. All up cost ABOUT $100, minus postage
Pre-Wedding accommedation - The Esplanade in Fremantle
Venue for Ceremony - Monument Hill in Fremantle
Venue for Reception - South Fremantle Football Club
Table Decorations - We're having balloons in the middle of some of the tables we've got set up.. Our reception is a ****tail style, so a walk around and mingle with everyone, but also got a few tables set out so that the older people and kids can sit down.
Cake - Another 'knowing the right people' - DFs aunty makes cakes and her niece is a cake decorater, so we're getting the cake for $100!
Catering - South Fremantle Football Club is doing it for $10/ph (not per hour, per head) and that includes mini pasties, pies and sausage rolls, samosas, dim sims, spring rolls, meatballs, sandwiches and the like, which I think will be ideal for a summer evening reception. We're paying for soft drinks, orange juice and water, but if people want alcohol, they'll have to pay for it.
Decorations - Basically organising it ourselves, balloons and the such
Entertainment - A 20 CD jukebox! Though I need to touch base with them and see if it's still ok.
Gifts - We've got a gift registry (if you wanna buy us something, feel free to ask and I'll PM you the registry number :P j/k) through Myer, and we've got things on there from $4.95 to $300, so a mix of incomes. We've also got a wishing well, in case no-one thought of anything to get and brough money. I think it fits cards and the such in there too, so I'm gonna ask people to do that.
Honeymoon - Melbourne. That was my first trip outside W.A and we were only in Melbourne for 20 hours, so we are going there for sure. I can get $82p/n rooms at Holiday Inn across the road from the airport (the rooms are regularly $310 p/n - GOTTA love discounts!) and we're staying for 5 nights... Though I still need to book all that stuff... Which will be easier when my grandads inheritance comes in (yes, we're actually getting it now! It's no longer being contested!)
Phew..... That should cover the catchup of wedding stuff!
-
And if you got through reading all that.... You deserve a medal because I think my hands deserve one as well!
-
Nice one Liz!!
We're in the process of planning our wedding (or should I say I'm in the process because the males generally say "Whatever you think babe!"), although it isn't until october next year. So far we haven't stumbled across any bargains :( A friend of mine is organising hers to for March and they've gotten everything from the photog half price. It's driving me bonkers!! Although in saying this my best friend and brides main is a hairdresser and quite a good makeup artists so i guess i'm saving a couple of hundred in that department!!
That is a really cheap price for catering as well! The cheapest we've seen is about 15/25 bucks a head. But we're looking more for a sit down roast sort of meal.
I'm a bit stuck on what to do with the gift thing. I feel a bit rude putting out a wishing well and asking for money... But i don't really want people giving me towels and everything as my DF and I have been living together for 2 years and already have all that stuff!!
We still don't have a celebrant either.. no idea for a cake and i'm completely packing myself for a dress because I'll have bub 5 months before the wedding and I'll still need a couple of months to get into shape before i choose a dress! I've tried going to places to just try on a few things and at least get a style in mind so i know what i'm looking at but you'd be surprised how many wedding places are willing to help you when they know you won't be buying anything from them for at least 7-8 months. I have run into some really rude people!! Which is stupid because if they were nice and helpful i'd gladly go back there when i'm ready and actually buy something..
-
i actually got through that!!! far out that was long. well done, you have organised a very nice wedding by the sounds of it on a very nice budget. i think when we get married ill hire you as my wedding planner lol.
i love freo, you have def chosen one of the nicest places to get married.
we have decided that when we get married its going to be at Caves house in yallingup. its soooooooo beautiful there.
better go, maddie is climbing me again xx
-
wonder where trini is?? she hasnt been in here since 11:47am yesterday!!! alot can happen in that time!
-
LJ- your wedding sounds great, i like your food, i wanna get married on our anniversary which is dec 9 so it'll be a summer wedding too. I circle the rings i like in catalogues and give them to him. lol. hes just to cheap to buy me a ring, wants to buy a house first.
Teagz- how rude is that. i would def say something to them if they were that rude to me. gets me how ppl can be so rude, dont they have enough brains to know its not good customer service
i haven't had an sms from trini yet but hopefully its cause she forgot or her battery is dead. lol
-
wow someone would think people are keeping tabs on me :p hehehehe
i think things may be slowly moving along but im not sure! Kirra i dont have your phone number as no PMs have come through :( ill Pm you my number so you can text me & then ill have your number :D
-
LJ, sounds quite a bit like our wedding!! we had heaps of mates rates stuff!! and we did have a sit down meal and didnt pay for alcohol and the whole thing (not including rings and outfits) came to around $3000. It was absolutely perfect though and exactly what we wanted (well, except for dad trying to seat everyone in such a way as to seat parents of married adults as close to them as possible 'to avoid an argument')
Well the storms are coming through tonight, and they are just standard storms so far. Nothing like what has been climbing the coast. DH did say a little while ago that if a cyclone did come through tonight would church be on tomorrow? and I said depends on the damage and if we had somewhere to meet! and if we had a cyclone we would probably be stuck in our estate because we are up the hill from the only way out of the estate.
Sarah is all better (phew) and DH is home again, so life is returning to normalishness.
We booked our flights for our Christmas holidays today!! We fly out at 11:30am Chrismas eve and get back at 10:55am 3/1 so I will be offline most of that time.
-
Hello ladies, I've been meaning to post in here for awhile and finally I've gotten around to it....hope you dont mind that I've barged my way in...?
Well I am 23 yrs old and my DF (23 as well) and I have a gorgeous 14month old called Madeline. She is an absolute little angel and we love being parents. We want to start trying for #2 late next year.
LizJessie - We've met before at a meet up right? I loved reading your wedding plans, we are currently planning a wedding as well so hopefully we can share tips lol. I noticed you are using Stacey Morris, WE ARE TOO! Isnt she fantastic?! She's so lovely, not soppy and corny either. We are also getting married on a budget, and are doing a 'backyard wedding' at our house on March 7th next year.
Alyssasmum - Your time will come! Your DP is very smart to want to buy a house first, even if it doesnt seem it. Congrats on your new bubba.
So where does everyone live, how many kiddies and how old?
-
Lj- wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! its going to be a great wedding! Thanks for the lonnnggggg but great update ;)
Kirra- Wel at least your Dp doesn't say "A wedding= an expensive devorce!" haha My Dp has come around and has decided that his bucks turn will be at the ac/dc concert next yr  No strippers so I cant argue haha
Ali- Hope those storms are nice and dont course any damage. So glad lil Sarah is better, I just hate it when they're sick! Hubby home :D did the love grow fonder haha
Trini- Congrats!!! Ill wait for the announcment as its not my place to tell others, Im sure you have a speacial person on here to do it for you ;)
-
Wow, so much to catch up on.
LJ, your wedding sounds awesome!!!
I'll catch up on everything else later.
Trini had her bub this morning, little girl :D
-
EEEEKKKKK Alexys is soooooo gorgeous!!! Trini and Nick did such a good job cant wait to read their birth story. :p
LJ- Now your making me wanna get married  Wow plenty of people are tying the knot. Have you thought of a seperate forum to swap ideas etc (not to be rude just thought youd reach a wider audience).
We're going to the zoo today :D
-
Oh wow, DP doesn't wanna get married cause of the cost, but you guys seems to be doing it pretty cheap and they still sounds like awesome weddings. I can't wait til its my turn, hopefully i'll still be young without wrinkles when it happens. lmao
Yay for Trini, congrats, can't wait to see pics and hear all the details. :D
Charli is sleeping....its a miracle. lol Yesterday she was awake for 4hrs straight, lil terd, didnt help that lys was sick either.
Alyssa is playing nicely, the other night she pulled half her room out and we were telling her for hours to pack it up and she didnt, so come 8pm when it was time for bed and her toys were still spread across it i got a garbage bag and put em all in, lol. She screamed and i laughed, lol. told her i threw them into the bin and she believed me, now she packs up her toys straight away, i did give the other ones back this morning and we had a lil talk about her packin away, next time she aint getting them back. My mum says im really really mean and i shouldnt do that to her but i was very tired and soooo sick of cleaning up her toys.
Well i can hear things crashing onto the floor in alyssa's room so i better go check what shes up to, DP is on the xbox so he won't be getting up anytime soon. lol
Chat Later

Congratulations Trini & Nick!! Well done!!!
-
Aaaaa, feels good, house work done, Df outside doing the backyard, yay!
-
Congrats Trini and Nick!!! Woo Hoo!!
Kirra - Well it worked and that was the point. I am sure your mum would have some some things similar when you were a kid she just thinks it's mean coz it wasn't her decision to do it. I might borrow that tip when the girls are old enough to know what a garbage bag means ;)
Kass - It only turns into an expensive divorce if there are trust issues and lack of communication. They are suicide for relationships ;)
Well the storms were not too bad, just a typical thunder storm. So glad the severity didnt come all the way north!!
LJ - are you doing Bonboniere? We didnt bother considering it is usually so tiny and expensive.
-
Hey Sal, how are you and maddie? havent spoken to you in ages.
I just finished vacuming and then Dp mopped, he seriously needs to mow but has been really lazy last 2wks, the grass isnt long its those stupid yellow flowers, aargg. he's actually annoying the **** outa me today, can't wait for him to go back to work he's supposed to have been helping me out while i rest but all he has done is the dishes which he does anyway and play either the comp or xbox.
LOL Allioops, thats what i said to her, she was alot meaner to me when i was lil compared to what i am to alyssa. lol.
Whats a bonboniere?
-
Kirra - bonboniere are the little bags with a couple of sugared almonds or something sweet that the couple usually put out for wedding guests. There are usually 3 in there I think. They are expensive for what they are!! We just figured that we were serving everyone a lovely meal in a nice restaurant and the cake was divine and gave everyone cake for dessert. We had Mud cake for the main cake (with the white Marzipan icing) and a smaller fruit cake for people who didn't like / couldn't eat Mud cake.
SHOCK HORROR! - I have actually done housework today!!! OMG will wonders never cease? I have to be in the mood to do housework and this evening I was actually in the mood!! I cleaned up Sarah's toys in the family room, vaccuumed the rugs, helped DH clean our room, vaccuumed our room, and cleared a path for DH to move a dresser from our room to the spare room. I still have heaps more to do but I can only do a bit at a time right now coz my sciatic nerve is playing up already.
-
Oh ok, thats what they are, i've never heard them called bonboniere before but i remember my sister getting those after going to a wedding, she said they tasted like crap. lol. I wouldnt bother with that anyway, your absolutely right, your paying for a nice meal for them and giving them dessert so why have those sugared almonds too.
Charli only woke twice last night, so i got a ok sleep. Only thing is at 5am this morning when i changed her nappy i was putting some cream on her and she decided to poop, it squirted up my sleeve (lmao) and all over the floor, then she peed and i had to completely change her and clean the poo up off the floor before i could feed her so she cried lots, luckily she didnt wake alyssa up. But it meant i didnt get back to bed until 6.15am cause i had to go back in after i fed her and clean it all up properly with disinfectant.
Haha to not cleaning up much Allioops, i vacumed yesterday for the first time in almost 2 weeks, DP had been sweeping the floor but it desperately needed a vac, needless to say it looks alot cleaner now. lol. But i did discover Charli doesnt like the vacume. Now i've just gotta make my way into the bathroom and toilet to clean them again, its never ending, maybe i should've taken my sister up on her offer to get me a cleaner but with DP home i didnt think i'd need it. lol. Big mistake that was, all he has done is play the xbox and comp. lol
Well im off to dress alyssa for creche and then head on over to my sisters to do some washing, damn washing machine chose to break right when i had a newborn and more washing than ever.

lol Kirra on the poop and wee episode! They are out to get us i swear! Our floor needs vaccuming atm but its just trying to find the time to do it. Doesnt help that our carpet is a cream colour. Thank god Mia doesnt go on the floor yet!

Kirra - we are well here, havent been on much lately due to BF issues. And we've had Electricity problems so I havent had the net for the majority of the last 3-4 weeks.
Hows Charli & Alyssa? Maybe its a male thing playing the xbox when they're home when you have a newborn. DF did the same thing for the week he was home & didnt help with pretty much anything.
hope everyone is doing well.
-

Congrats again Trini, u did great she is beautiful, ouchy on the tear though. can't wait to read ur birth story.
Hollye- was reading ur bf/formula journey, how is everything going now?
