    Pregnant although HCG was low

    Hi,
We've had our second IVF a month ago and as per my first IUI I was told that my hormone levels were to low to sustain a pregnancy.
I did have a period but this time it wasn't heavy. Now I have sore breast, 2 weeks on.
Any one out there you was told they had low hcg levels but ended up with a healthy pregnancy?
    Thanks
    Manni

    Hi Manni and Welcome!

Have you had more than one blood test? Were you told what your HCG levels were and if they had risen? If you havent had a second blood test perhaps you should request one to see if all of the HCG is out of your system, sometimes it takes a while depending on a few things or perhaps you may need a D&C if the HCG doesnt drop completely.

Im sorry this has happened but congrats on the BFP, thats a huge challenge in itself

I'm sorry to hear that you're in this situation.

I have to ask the same question as the PP, did you have a second b/t or just the one? Sometimes hcg levels can be low at the first b/t but rise normally and lead to a healthy pg. You really need a follow up b/t to know what is happening with your hormone levels.

Was it a fresh IVF or a FET? The reason I ask that is because FETs can have low, slow-rising hcg levels and still have a healthy pg at times. I have a friend who went through that and now has a beautiful little boy.

Have you used a HPT since your "AF"? If that is positive, I'd be calling your Dr to ask what's going on. Hopefully they can re-test your levels and give you some better answers.

    Thank you

Thank you both for your replies. Yes I did have 2 BT, first one was inconclusive and the second was apparently 6, hence why I was told that it wasn't sustainable.
I've only ever had fresh eggs, as I never had enough to freeze.
I don't know it's all very disappointing, you spend so much money, put yourself through a lot of emotional stuff, your partner is picking up the pieces, and for something that was meant to come naturally. The Doc hit a vain during egg pick up and I ended up bleeding internally, but still had the implant 2 days later. Maybe my body was still to "broken" for it to work this time.
We are out of money now, so we shall see what the future brings. At the age of 40 the options are limited.
Thanks again Ladies for your time

So sorry manni - sometimes the universe needs a good kick up the proverbial ass for being so unfair
