Hi everyone...I had to go in early to work today and therefore was out of my normal routine. I have been taking my synarel at 9am and then at 9pm..but this morning I didnt sniff until 10.30 am- will this cause much of a problem? I have left a message with my clinic nurse to check.
I am a bit paranoid about it, because last stim cycle my hormones were not baseline when it came scheduled time to start injections and I had to wait a week and continue the synarel...fortunately I was then set to start injecting. I really hope i dont have to do an extra week this time...because it makes me feel sick and gives me headaches.
possums - 12 hourly is ideal - but i don't think there are many people on here who've been able to maintain that they whole time they've used synarel!
i found if i was late (so in this instance 90 minutes) i'd take the next dose half that amount of time later (so 45 min) and then back to normal tomorrow. it's not ideal, but sometimes circs can get beyond your control and you just have no choice!
don't stress babe - if you were being irregular the whole time, it might impact, but i doubt one or two later doses will matter
I don't think it matters too much. I hope not. But this round I've been a bit slack with my timings for both Synarel and Puregon on a few occaisions and, not to worry you, but have had to have my puregon dosage doubled and it's taking longer for the follicles to grow than last time. But the Synarel is to suppress your natural hormones, so I think it's more of an issue when you get to the injection stage as you don't want your natural hormone level rising and releasing the eggs before EPU.
Hmmm, I guess I should be a little more dilligent!
Hi Possums - I don't know the answer but my guess is that it shouldn't matter - it is designed to stay in your system for AT LEAST 12 hours and I assume there's definitely a margin of error built in. I had trouble remembering all my shots/sniffs/pills as well. I programed recurring alarms into every electronic device I have (phone, work PDA, work calendar etc.) and that really helped - alarms going off all the time which I'm sure drove peopel crazy, but I didn't forget! I do know that the timing of the trigger shot is very sensitive - so this is the one that I'd make sure to do right on time.
Just wanted to pop back in Possums and let you know that I got to scheduling of the EPU (Friday this week, WHOOT!) so I think the situation is that if you take the Synarel a bit late then it could take a bit longer for things to happen, but they'll still happen, IYKWIM?
Good luck with this round, we're all thinking of you over in our little first IVF round thread
good luck to both of you (Possums & Meo) - it would make me so happy for this to be your cycle!
Possums - I am going to be away and probably not checking/posting much during the key parts of your cycle - I will be thinking about you and sending sticky vibes from overseas!
well, once again, on the day I am due to start injections my hormones are not baseline! arrrggghhh. Except for that one day I was late, I have been so careful with taking it on time. The same thing happened last cycle and I had to just keep sniffing...the following week I was right to start injecting. If I dont respond, we have to start the cycle again.
so frustrated right now
thanks, I just wish each step would go as its meant to and flow smoothly, especially as the synarel makes me feel so ill. But when will I learn, life is not like that!
Possums, last cycle I actually took my synarel late a few times. The worst one was 3 hours late. When I told my FS he just dismissed it as unimportant. I'm sorry to hear you're not baseline, but I don't think that the late dose would have contributed to that.
thanks for that, yes my nurse also wasnt worried about that late dose. Given I was also not baseline last cycle, until extra time on the synarel, I guess it's just a thing with my body
I never knew you had to sniff on the same time of the day...
My FS just said one sniff when you wake up and one sniff when you go to bed... But time varies... even more on weekends...
oops... maybe I should try to keep sniffs same time just in case...
Possums - I'm sorry to hear that you're not where you were hoping to be just now. Hopefully this cycle will be the same as last and if you keep sniffing, you'll get there next week.
I just wanted to add to my comments above and say that the late dose wouldn't have made a difference, as I said, I've been a bit slack with the timings this round and had egg pick up this morning - would you believe NINETEEN eggs?! I'm so excited I can barely type. We only got 4 good ones last round, so this is a mega achievement. Don't know if they'll all be viable yet, but the scientist is going to call tomorrow.
