Sydney IVF - experimental drug to make embie stick!
Does anyone know Dr Devora Liberman?
Hi
I've recently heard that Dr Liberman from Sydney IVF is using an experimental drug from the U.S. to help an embie stick. I don't have any further info than that .. and I heard it second hand.
we started seeing Dr Leiberman last month and due to my previous miscarriages + diminished ovarian reserve, she's put me on DHEA. Dehydroepiandrosterone supplementation is experimental but has had promising results in the US.
I'm not sure if this is the drug that was mentioned to you but hope this helps. If you google it you should be able to find more detailed information.
I don't think it's DHEA - I've been on DHEA for almost 3 months and in the middle of my first cycle since taking it. It is suppose to improve egg quality (which remains to be seen for me) but I don't think it has anything to do with "sticky-ness".
I can back up what Buliej wrote - I too took DHEA for a couple of months before my last (successful) cycle.
DHEA is available in Australia. It is thought to assist with the quality of eggs in a diminishing ovarian reserve, but as far as I know it has nothing to do with implantation. Of course, a better quality embryo is more likely to stick, so there may be a connection.
I have heard great things about Dr Leiberman - very approachable and willing to tailor programs well for each patient.
