    Sex and Egg Transfer?

    The night before? The night after? Not at all?

    I'm having my ET done on Saturday and am wondering what you've been told helps implantation?

    I've got some paperwork at home that says to DTD the night before OR the night after transfer.

    Just curious what has worked for you.

    I posed the same question a couple of weeks ago...

    There are such differing opinions on it!!

    On my clinic's handouts they say there is absolutely no scientific evidence that it helps. My FS said no sex for a week after transfer is best. I was too sore the night before. Anyway, basically we didnt do it - and still havent since before ER (With this period I am now bleeding like I have never bled before!)

    Not sure if I have helped....Sorry!

    But I think it comes down to the fact will you regret doing it/not doing it if you get a BFN???

    PS For what it's worth, most US clinics say no sex at all until a heartbeat is detected!!!!

    personally, i couldn't do it the night before - i had the "ummm, someone is gonna be looking down there" thoughts - just couldn't do it! almost always the night after. our clinic nurse said orgasm can help propel the emby to where it needs to be, and that seminal fluid can help make it more welcoming for the embryo

    whichever suits you best, I reckon. I was never up for it - OHSS with DS and disgusting pessary gunk with DD - but I'm sure it can only help (to relax if nothing else)

    i tried both and it didn't make a difference, still got BFN. but i have a friend who did 2 x ivf full cycles and the only time they didn't do it she got a BFP and now has a baby. fingers crossed for you. good luck whatever you decide. x

    You know what we did babe

    Our FS told us to go home and DTD immediately after transfer. I had acupuncture immediately after, and then we did it just after that, so 3 hours.

    And you met the result of that IVF cycle on Tuesday
