Planning IVF for #2 - What if I'm still BFing and don't have a cycle yet?
Hi ladies,
Our ICSI bub DS is now 7 months old, and I am just starting to feel physically ready for another pregnancy, and although DP hasn't agreed to number 2 yet, I'm starting to think ahead, and I have a few questions. We have MFI (very low sperm count), and have almost no chance of conceiving naturally. We got 3 eggs, only 2 grew well, and both were transferred on day 3 - were lucky enough to fall pg on the 1st cycle.
Would my GP insist on us trying for 6 months again (I'm 38) before re-referring us to the FS?
My cycle hasn't returned yet - would it be worth seeing the FS until it has returned?
I am still BFing, though I only have about 50% supply... I guess this is why my cycle hasn't returned, but if you have had AC for #2 or more, did you/would you wean just to get your cycle back in order to ttc?
Would an FS start a treatment cycle (we would need to do egg collection, as we have no frosties) while I'm still BFing? Or would they insist on me weaning first?
And at 38, I'm reluctant to wait too long, though I'd love to let DS decide when to give up the boob, so would a GP/FS do the tests for egg aging, etc (is it AMH, or something?) to help me decide if we should wean and then ttc sooner or later?
Is there anything else I could be/should be thinking about at this stage?
