    Scans & Public Holidays.....

    Hi All,

I'm feeling very grumpy & upset today.
We have just started our second attempt & are on day 8 of the OCP.
I had a phone call from the nurses y'day afternoon stating that due to the easter PH's they would be increasing my time on the OCP starting my synarel later & the scan would then not fall on any PH's. I wish they had of told me this before we started this cycle as now I'm wondering if altering a protocol will have any affect they say no but I'm not sure.
I'm peeved because the Saturday is actually not a holiday & I have scheduled my leave around starting the injections and egg collection. I think I will speak to my FS on Monday and voice my concerns.
I am a Case Manager for the aged and have had this booked for three months & it's not so easy to change leave.
Is anyone else having to change any of thier app's due to easter hol's.
I'm probably just being over sensitive. I just feel like we have just started and there are already issues again.
I wanted this time to be a smoother, calmer & more positive exprience.
But is the IVF rollercoaster ever smooth.....???

    Hi Bex.
It depends on the clinic, but I think they generally do schedule things around public holidays and weekends IF it won't affect the outcome. Extending your time on the pill won't have any effect on the cycle, but it does make things difficult for you in regards to leave It's hard to schedule these things anyway since it's impossible to precisely predict the days for pickup and transfer in advance.

This is really hard at the best of times - i wish you all the best and hope this cycle is successful for you.

    Exactly what Mad B said!

I really feel for you. I find it hard to juggle work commitments with scans, bloot tests, pick ups, transfers, etc, etc... It's particularly difficult as I don't want work to know I am doing IVF. Unfortunately, I dont know there's a lot you can do This is just a small bump in the road. Hopefully the rest of your journey will go more smoothly.

    I wish you well x

Thanks Ladies, I think I just overeacted. I think I'm scared that it's going to go pear shaped again. Any way enough negativity I must think positive baby thoughts!
