Nup, I haven't done any yet  Not a single square!
I managed to cas on but failed miserably at getting a single stitch knitted LOL!! I am soooo unco! But the magazines keep rolling in & sitting untouched. How bad is that! The good thing is that I have given myself a deadline to learn how to knit with my 101 in 1001 list, so I'll be starting for real very very soon. Once the wedding I'm in is done (April 4th) I am gettin started & will work on it when Zander is at preschool each week :)
noice! i got to about number 21 then had to put it aside cos i buggered up my wrist - when that healed i knitted scarves for each of my bro's kids, then managed to get UTD with the gremlin so was too sick! i'm now working on a cross stitch quilt for her, but will get back to the knitting soon enough (i reckon it will be great for those nights i can't sleep after baby arrives (at least i'm hoping!). i think i'm only a few squares off playing with the cable stitch - up until now, they haven't been too bad, but throwing that third needle in will freak me out!
have you been opening them at all? i have been putting the patterns and stuff in folders for storage, and a plastic tub with all the wool labelled with what book they go with - issue 86 has the start of another throw rug - rather nice from what i can see - but it's advanced so i think it might take a while to get to that one!
Most of them are sorted into the binder & looking beautiful. The wool is all packed into the basket thingo that came with one of the first issues, but I think a plastic tub will be good because it's overflowing. I haven't labelled the wool just chucked it all in. I figure it can't hurt if the squares accidentally end up the wrong colour. Who will know?!
i've intentionally done mine the wrong colors cos i don't want to have my blankie looking the same as everyone elses!
i gave up on the binders they provided - i just didnt' think they were big enough so i'm using colored lever arch folders now... freaks me out that issue 86 is missing the "bits and pieces" section in lieue of the advanced throw section - now it's all gonna look messed up lol!
Oh great, when I get to that one I'm going to freak out too now! Damn our eternal analness :p
i actually contemplated putting the advanced throw bit in there to keep it neat - but i want them seperate so started another folder.... just far too hard to keep things neat...
DH thinks it's hilarious that i'm so anal about these folders (i am getting the calligraphy set as well) when so much of our house is just in chaos at the moment... i think i'd be the same with everything else if it wasn't so overwhelming to get it arranged just right....
Hi Ladies.
Is anyone interested to learn how to knit or crochet (physically). I'm good at knitting, crocheting, etc, as well as teaching (yes, even the left-handed candidates, men and kids). I'm in the Frankston South area and can probably arrange something with the coffee shop owner near me, but before I do that I just want to know who may be interested. Let me know. It will be a fun-filled event and a break away from all the mundane daily (mommy/daddy) activities. Time you owe yourself.
if you google bisset magazines, you should be able to find them
the knitting set is now finished so you would need to buy them in arrears and contact them each time you want to order.
they have now started a crochet collection the same as this
i could only do a basic knit stitch before i bought the knitting set, and can now knit cable and read patterns etc. if the crochet one is as simple, yeah, i think you'll learn heaps from it
they have a vid with basic info in the first set. i'm gonna get it i think
By chance I saw an ad for it tonight not long after I posted, it certainly looks good :) If I get stuck there is always BB to ask  :D
I got the crochet one yesteday, I can already crochet but wanted the patterns. It is really easy to follow & the pictures are nice & clear. It doesnt cost any extra to subscribe either, so I have done that so i wont miss an issue
