i hope all you yummy mummys had a great mothers day.
well i actually had a good one caityn had me up at 2am....which wasnt a good start, craig actually gave me a bit of lovin twice, then bought me in a bunch of red roses, and took me out for brekky, JESSICA did the babysitting she is 14, then i came home to get my pressies all the kids had made for me, and i had a baked dinner made for me, so all in all a pretty good day.........now back to the grind today.
sorry to her of your loss bree.
oooh Chrissy sounds like a huge day and a goody too
We had a bad start to Mother's Day. First of all, I have to say that DH has a history of doing NOTHING on any special occasion (birthdays, christmas, etc). Usually on Mother's Day I get a card, and then a big sigh "you don't want to do anything, do you?" or "I feel bad that I've planned nothing but I couldn't think of anything." We had a huge thing about this last winter & I told him all his arguments were @#$#@#. I've said that before but this time I really put it on the line. Result was that I did get pressies for my birthday & Christmas. :D
So I knew things should be different this year. I had said I didn't want to go out, too hard with the babies. On Saturday evening we had friends over. I left the room & when I came back, one was asking if we had big plans for the day. I thought DH replied, "We're not going to do anything big, she doesn't want to." I then flashed in with, "Why don't you tell all the things you've planned for previous Mother's Days?" These are good friends who know our history & they just laughed, but I could tell dh was annoyed.
He went straight to bed as soon as they left & was asleep before I could brush my teeth. I left the kitchen for the morning & went to bed as well. When I woke up he was washing up from last night, and still angry. I don't like to waste time. I asked him why he hadn't said that we didn't have a big day planned b/c it's too hard to go out with the little ones.
He then told me that what he had actually said was, "We're not going to do anything big, only exactly what she wants to do." Just about the opposite of what I thought he said! And I raked him over in front of our friends. So then of course I felt terrible.....
We had to agree to start the day over, although imho he was still a bit sulky all day. I did get a nice present too.
We went to the cemetery to visit our first dd  . This is always hard...& there are always lots of people visiting on special days. It's good to let those feelings out though. When I think about it I cannot believe that I am really a mother to 5 children. :)
Oh Castle
it must be hard for you on mothers day. I am glad it wasn't all sad though. DOn't you hate when you put your foot in it?
Well DH and I had a discussion the other week about how I don't expect much just for him to show he has thought about me. I brought myself some clothes and bedside lamps. He brought me a web cam and an electrc shaver. Josh gave me a mug and a bird cage wind chime with fake birds inside. It chirps when you tap it pmsl very funny. This year DH even brought me a card that said from now on my ;life will be the best....which isnice. He is making a huge effort to change as we have had a bit of drama recently and it is so much nicer around here than before.
So apart fromt he fact I had to do the washing and clean the house My mothers day wasn't too bad lol
Oh Castle, You have done well, It took my DH years to finally get his act together. I had no birthday, Mothers Day, Christmas or Anniversary presis for years! Men just don't just think like us! Anyway its all good now and I was spoilt on Mums Day. But once a year is enuff, DH was exhausted at the end of the day!
castle....you poor thing i really hope you had a nice mothers day. My dh never ever does anything much for birthdays etc, and always makes the comment " i never know what you want" or " i should of bought you that" or "im hopeless buying you things".....well i was in a total state of shock that he got me a bunch of roses.....sending you big hugs as well...you are and always will be a mum to 5....i know how hard it is to go to the cemetary.....i always lose it....my first born was a sids bub he was 2 months old when he passed away he would be turning 16 this year......like i am a mum to 6 plus 2 step children.....i never forget him.
mitch.......thats nice that dh is making a effort.....i wish your family well.
well caityn cut another tooth today thats 4 now, and has had the sh#ts for days, so hopefully she will settle down now. Jessica and sean both made it to zone cross country, so thats nice for them, high school fees are driving me insane.......its something every week, i dont know where they think us parents find all that money.
maz......i have been a bit worried about you and i hope the m/s isnt treating you that bad.
i am taking my kids to qld in 7 weeks for a holiday......not too sure if i can call it a holiday though probably be pulling my hair out by the time i come home, but i am looking forward to it.
Have a great night girls
Yeah Chrissy I am sure you will prob feel like we did after 2 weeks in QLD, sooooo tired, but it was worth it thats for sure!!
hello? Where did all the people go?
Hi all,
Is it OK if i join in here?
Course it is!!
Although everybody has gone MIA .........
i am still here storm, not that i post much........a bit slack
i had a huge barney with my 14yo daughter last night, its always when she asks for help doing assignments.........she asks my help....so i assist.....then she becomes a sarcastic biartch with all the things she should do.......im sure she does it so MUM WILL DO IT FOR HER.......god it drives me mad.
caity has been a bit sick these last couple of days, i havent had alot of sleep of late
4 weeks till i take 5 kids and myself to qld......cant wait.....no husband as well.
have a great night girls...if anyone is reading
Wow Chrissy, are you driving up?goodluck.
lol at Jessica too, mine pull that one on me as well, but I tell them that I have finished school & I will only help with how they set it out, not the research, other wise I might as well do the hole thing. When Dylan was in 5th grade I helped him & when it came home marked it said, "Nice work, mum" lol, never again!!
I too have one who would like me to do his homework for him, DS(13) hates school and really struggles, but I still make him do it himself (most of the time! LOL)
It must be a kid thing because mine do it to me too.
I have jut finished two assignments on Australian Prime Ministers! LOL :p
I hope I get an A+!!!!
We've had sickies here too.
Wishing for Winter to be over already and we've only just had our first lot of cold weather and illness.
I bet you are looking forward to your trip Chrissy!
I'd love to go to QLD right about now.
Did I tell you girls we got a new bus?
It came in handy on the weekend when we lost all power because of the storms. It powered up the nebuliser when Ivy and Noah had an asthma attack and it took us swiftly and safely to Sydney before the second storm hit.
He he...Emmy and I just did a power point presentation on Indonesia. We got 50/50!!! LOL.
Wow Tiggy..that was lucky. Yay for the new bus! Its so much fun getting a new car hey,,,we spent hours in ours just enjoying driving around when we first got it.
Chrissy good for you driving yourself up with the kids. How long are you staying for?
All you poor sickies..its awful when it hits cos it just seems to go through everyone doesnt it...im hoping we last a bit longer before anything happens...our latest thing has been NITS!!!! arrrgh..thankfully its been fairly contained in only one child, but i so hate that other parents DO NOT check their kids hair!!!
Jo
I hear you with the other parents & nits jo, it drives me bonkers. Geez I wish you could use frontline!!
Sickies have left our house & I never want to see them back again.....
Yay for the new bus Tiff. what'd ya get???
Hey Jo,
We got a new Toyota Hiace Commuter. You can see a piccie of it on the blog if you want.
It's lovely and yes, jo, we have been loving driving it around and Dave and I have been planning road trips away, when it's holiday time...not that that will be likely for a while. All the sickies have left us with no leave left from work.
Ugh! I hate nits too. What's more is I hate that it costs me $52 everytime I have to treat my kids, which is often because (a) I do the right thing and check and treat and (b)someone up at the school can't be bothered! It's very annoying.
Hi girls
Yay Tiff on the bus!!
Yuck at NITS I hate them too, mine all got them just bf xmas and I kept treating until new years day, was a huge PITA
LOL at you girls and the homework thing. My DH was helping my DD (12) with her homework the other day bc he was so excited and interested in it. She was watching TV and he was working on it. I asked him why she wasn't their, he was too engrossed to answer lol
Hope yo have stacks of fun in QLD. We spent our 1st weekend at our onsite caravan this weekend just gone...loved it. Will be back again on school hols YAY
Well done Tiff, nothing like a brand new car.
hello ladies i hope i can just drop in ive been searching for the larger family forums. I have 4 DD 12 4 3 & 3months. Well done Tiff on the new car we just bought a kia carnival its the best things we ever did as far as purchases go it fits every one in nice a nd roomy its has a roof mounted dvd i much recomend it for every one with wireless head phones theres silence in minutes. Now hubby can have his 4x4 back that keeps him happy.nits i hate them but only dd 12 seems to get them so far its so time consuming and expensive and all dd can do is winge that its annoying for me to do it i kindly remind her i dont really enjoy it either.
kath
Nit's drive me up the wall too! It costs a fortune to treat them only for them to go back to school & get them from someone else!
How is everyone?
Hi Kath!!! Welcome!!
Angel just got her chest checked & woo hoo her lungs are finally clear!!! Off to the pead on friday I hope I get the same good news abt her heart too!!
Hi girls, great to see people chatting again.
Welcome Kath! There are a few of us with an age spread. My oldest is 12 and youngest is 10 months.
Nits...I've only had them with the boys...who were given a No 1 instantly on the back verandah by DH! At the pharmacist's advice. We STILL had a few clinging around the ears. This happened when they came back from the school camp. "Mum, we didn't NEED the pillow slips you sent with us. There were some already on the pillows!"
Our hot water heater is MIA due to being completely submerged in the flooding...water is still standing by that side of the house. It has to be the lowest point in the suburb and there is nowhere for it to go. (It's nearly completely out of the water now but the pilot light is down at the bottom.) I don't think it will be useable, we'll probably have to get a new one.
The washing machine heats its own water, but dishes have to be washed with water heated on the gas stove & we go down to a friend's house for showers.
How awful for you re the flooding Castle. It truly is a pita!!
i HAVE A KIA TOO AND love IT, JUST AS SOON AS IT COMES HOME THAT IS. hAD TO HAVE THE engine repaired and it has taken 4 wks already. It had a fault and Kia pd half, which means it costs us $4070. Gotta get DH to ring and see how much longer.
hi all
i ve mia for ages too my twins turned one on friday and we had huge party on sunday and wouldnt you know it half of our party came down with gastro on mon including me hubby and 4 out of 5 of my kids my poor 10 year old held down the fort looking after babies for a fair amount of time so embarassing
kitty kat i have a kia carnival with mounted dvd player it is the best thing ever funny thing that happened about a month after we got it that movie finished half way to school and my7 year old panicked "oh no what are we going to do now mum" umm look out the window like you have been doin for the last 7 years before we got dvd player ....NITS what a night mare we seem to finally have them under control boys put gel in their hair every morning they only wash their hair on saturdays and we use tea tree shampoo we ve been nit free for about 6 months now....
hi ladies love to join this chat im a mum of 4 girls agecd 12 10 09 and 1 love to talk to other mums enjoying the crazy and hectic life of four or more children
hi Sharon,
Welcome aboard!
Oh Castle , how terrible!!
All better now. We got all the water pumped away (finally) and the hot water heater actually re-lit after the plumber came & spoke very kindly to it! Same for our neighbours. Insurance is paying for a new one though. I really don't care as long as it works, but with gas you don't want to mess about.
Welcome Sharon!
Hey there Girls
Sorry haven't checked in for a while - I've had sick kids too. You know how it goes the first one gets it and passes it down the line. By the time the first one is well again the sixth one is ready to reinfect him! Viscious cycle but we are swallowing huge amounts of echinea to try and keep the bugs away!
Now holidays are coming any bright ideas from you ladies would be helpful. My kids are 7,5,4,3,9months and my oldest is 14 but has cerebal palsy so nothing too physical for him. I am hoping I may get some fresh ideas of things to do, so please share anything you have.
Thanks
Bree

Hi guys, Gosh I've been MIA for ages. Life is always full of melodrama in this house with my 4 DD's DS is still an angel, lol give him time and I'll group him with his sisters. I can't believe Nathan is one tomorrow. We are having a little party for him tomorrow afternoon, just me and the kids. Should be fun. I got a little Wiggles cake for him and cherrios and fairy bread, chip and lollies, but you'll be guaranteed that DD2 will ask what are we having for dinner, lol. I usually make the birthday cakes but with studying and being on my own I just don't have the time this year. I figure, he doesn't know or care, in fact it sounds terrible but if it wasn't for the big girls I wouldn't be doing anything tomorrow, I would have waited a couple of weeks. Oh well this isn't getting my assignment finished so I'd better go.
Congrats on ther new car's girls
A big hi to everyone.
Ta Dee
:happybirthday: to Nate.
Hi all,
:happybirthday: Nate.
How is everyone?
Wow I can't belive it's nearly school holidays, I'll really have to find something for them to do or they'll drive me nuts! lol!
School holidays are next week here too.
Not planning anything, unfortunately I have a grounded teenager, so making a point these hols.
Gonna be boring for the rest of us.
Happy first birthay Nate!
My three big kids have left for the school camp to Canberra and the Snowy mountains today. We almost had to take out another loan to get them there but they are on their way now. Four days. I'm not sure how I feel. It's kind of weird. It will certainly be very quiet.
Other than that Ivy is recovering nicely from her pneumonia. I think that is all of our exciting news.
What am I going to do with the kids these school holidays? I'm not sure yet.
Yay for Ivy getting better Tiff. Did it take her long?
It took Angel almost 3 weeks to get over bronchiolitis.
Wow at going to the snowies too, Katie gets to go soon too. Imagine how cold it is gonna be there!! Poor buggars, but they are prob gonna have too much fun to care.
HI there
Thanks Kittykat for those ideas sounds great. I know what ya means doing things the cheap way. If ya just had 2 kids it wouldn't be so bad to take them somewhere but by the time you times it by 6 even without the food its almost bankrupty! Family tickets are usually for only 2 or 3 kids! Oh well I shouldn't grumble I wouldn't be without any of them most of the time!! It our wedding anniversary today so we are sending the kids of to bed early and having cheesecake and watching a dvd and then...well never you mind!!!
4 days till holidays - stay sane!
Bree
