At the moment we have two cars to travel with our extra large brood, have to say though, it is nowhere near ideal.
DH drives one and I drive the other with 3 of our children in each.
At the best of times, it is not easy as we both keep 'looking out' for each other, and end up having to phone each other should one of us get stuck behind traffic and can't find the other etc!! Yes silly I know!
The times when we are really stuck are the times when one of us can't drive, eg when I am in hospitial having one of the babies etc, so there's no 2nd driver iyswim......so that's an added problem fo rus to ponder over when we have better things to worry about.
Anyway, back to my main question....do any of you have a minibus, or have ever owned a minibus? Maybe you know/knew somebody with a minibus?
Would like to know your opinion(s) as to what they are like?
At the moment we have a Land Rover Discovery (7seats) & Land Rover Range Rover (5seats)..have seen 17 seater minibuses, but rather hesitant in rushing out to buy one in case we make another mistake. Range Rover was bought on impulse, so we didn't really think it through first.
What about the safety issue..do you think they are as safe/safer than Land Rovers?
Please share your experiences with us, if you have any. Thanks.
From another thread of yours I read, you are planning on another baby, so betting a minvan/bus is definately a better option as you would have 3 children in one car and would have to get a larger car to fit 4 children in the other anyway.
A boy in my DS's class is one of 5 children and they have Ford Transit van that can seat 10 I think. It looks large but their children are older and need the room. Other alternatives are a small bus - some I've seen seat 10 and another option after that is a Kia Carnival - they can seat 8, but you lose all your storage space for prams etc.
