Wow. That's so rude! If it were me, I wouldn't bother inviting them to The next one. I cant stand being treated like crap.
's good on you for saying something.

We have the same issue happening.
I've sent out invites for Miss J's birthday and Miss S's naming day (same day) a month ago and the only people who have replied are their grandparents. I want to start preparing food to freeze and bring out on the day (or day before) but hard to do when you only have 3 people coming. Frustrates the c**p out of me... people are so rude these days.
So I've been thinking about this, and maybe some people don't understand that RSVP = respondez s'il vous plait = Please give us a response by...? Or maybe the paper invitation is the problem, people are used to getting things via their emails and phones and replying instantly that way, so getting something on paper doesn't fit that pattern, kwim? (just trying to wrap my head around this, it sounds like it's pretty common...??)
Wow that was so rude of them! I think you handled yourself very well though.
The aunt I posted previously about still hasn't RSVP to DS' party & it's next weekend! According to my MIL 3 hours is too far for this aunt to travel & she is on her side! Unbelievable. It would be nice to be told, what if everyone left it to the minute to decide?
This is my pet hate, people who think it's ok to trade up for a better offer.
If they can't make a commitment to want to come to an event (and it's not a legitimate reason like someone being sick in hospital and they REALLY don't know if they'll be free)
then I'd think twice about whether u want them there.
I have a huge family and nonone RSVPs to anything - 10% reply rate if I'm lucky.
The only ones who reply are those who can't come, those who can assume we know automagically because they didn't say they couldn't.
We had 110 at our wedding and 80% of this were my family. I can count on my fingers how many rsvps we got, and very few people did not come.
I had to ring them all on the RSVP date.
