About a year ago we had a heap of stuff for sale in the newspaper. One of which was a woodstove/waterheater. We had a guy come and look at it and he decided he wanted to buy it but wouldn't have the money until the next week, which we said was fine, and we arranged for him to transfer the money into our account and he was going to organise a truck and some man power to come and pick it up (it is VERY heavy!).
So we received the money ($2300) and he phoned to say he would pick the stove up in a few weeks as soon as he could organise the truck. We didn't hear from him for 6 weeks so my husband phoned him (luckily had saved his number in his phone) and he apologised and said he would organise the truck ASAP. We didn't hear from him again for a few weeks so DH phoned him again and he said the same thing. Anyway, it's been about a year now and DH no longer has his number (it was accidentally deleted!) and we haven't heard from him! We have the stove still sitting out under our veranda taking up space. We will be getting the whole area concreted in a few months so will need it gone.
What do we do? Do we re-advertise, or is that wrong? I feel bad for the guy, maybe he lost our number too! $2300 is ALOT of money for him to just throw away.
