In all honesty, I wasn't exactly sure where to put this.
As DS grows older he is becoming more aware of rules and interactive really, and its fun! I would like to start game nights with him where we actively sit down to play a board game. We have a couple already which have been hit and miss.
He loves the cherry picking game... whats it called?..
And snakes and ladders is okay for a while.
Connect four is hilarious, he has no clue but we have fun trying.
So does anyone have any suggestions of board games for 4 -6 year olds for 2-4 players?
Thanks![]()
Also has anyone done game nights and how did they work for you? I think this will be a nice way to spend some one on one time with him, but who knows.![]()

Guess Who
ohhhh I LIVE for the day we can play Scrabble as a family!!!
My DD is 5 and she loves playing UNO.
Other games she likes are hungry hippos, junior monopoly, twister.
We sometimes have a games afternoon (usually on cold yucky days) and I make popcorn and we all play a game or two and sometimes do puzzles as well. We love it and the kids have a ball!
Uno - it's for older kids but ours love it at 3 and 5! Junior Monopoly, Twister, there is one Im still chasing called Zingo - like bingo for kids, Guess Who, memory games and puzzles.
My kids love:
Kerplunk
Monkey bingo
Trouble
Go Fish
Bug off
I love games nights and love that the girls are getting big enough to play a variety of games now. DH and I used to have regular games nights with a group of friends and they were such great fun nights. All gone a bit by the wayside unfortunately as we've all had kids.
They make a junior monopoly. My boys love it.
There is also a junior cluedo but we've lost a couple of pieces.
Card games are fun - happy families, fish, snap.
Uno is fun too.
Zingo is a great game
Snakes and Ladders
Puzzles
Lulu pre kids we had an EPIC games night, darts, fuseball, trivial pursuit, 500 and then Singstar haha was huge, we kept tallies of everyones scores but by the end of the night we may have all had a few too many fermented fruits to know who actually won!Ahhhh memories....
Oh I forgot about zingo, great game!
Also DD got a game called 'Whatever Next' for her birthday. It is hilarious and lots of fun!
Twister
Old Maid
Dominoes
Zingo is awesome and can be played with a range of ages. It's bought through learning ladder. The kids (and adults!) really get into it!
Twister
Santa told me he is brining junior monopoly for Christmas.
Guess who is challenging for my 5 year old because she doesn't get it yet.
What about hungry hippos?
We gave operation but dd finds it boring.
Trouble or headache could be good although I don't see them around too often.
