    Someone hacked my facebook account!

I went to go on facebook today and my password was changed - so I discovered an email from the facebook people to say they had detected suspicious behaviour on my account and locked and changed password.
So I reset it and discovered someone has replaced my profile pic with an aetheist message - as my page states I am a christian.
    How would someone do that?

So I got a bit freaked out and am currently scanning my whole computer and have just changed all of my passwords for various things!

    This happen to anyone else?

And you gotta think - WHY.. why would some random person just pick on another random person!?!?!

If I was a hacker - I'd go the banks at least.. lol

I would say it wasn't a random person... more someone you know who could guess your PW or knows your email password or something.

Well, no one knows my email password other than me... so it's not that and I doubt they could've guessed my password - which was a combination of things personal to me only.
I don't know, facebook was aware of it, infact they picked it up before I did and locked my account, which is reassuring anyway.

I doubt it's a computer hacker. They wouldn't be hacking facebook, instead banks and stuff.

Actually, it is a hacker, and it really could be anyone, from a friend to a stranger my friend is having the same problem right now and i am currently tracking the kid down.

Also, you would be surprised how many kids hack Facebook/Myspace/AIM/ect. everyday, people just dont have lives anymore.

That might be a virus/bug Rhyb, as opposed to a hacker. Not sure what to do about it though, I haven't had those sort of problems in ages! *touches wood nervously*

Your password wouldn't be "guessed" so much as a program would go through various combos for them (by them I mean the scum that did this) That's why it's always recommended to use symbols and numbers in your password. A trick I use is to replace "a" with @ and "i" with 1, used in an unlikely word, like stickytape = st1ckyt@pe
Two friends of mine have had their facebook profiles hacked, and they started posting Viagra-type spam advertisements.

    Good luck!
