    Smile IVF Australia at Westmead

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and wondering if there are any other ladies out there doing IVF through IVF Australia at Westmead?

    Hi Jessie,

I'm at Westmead IVF Australia but currently floating in stasis until my known donor's sperm is cleared as ok.

However, if you contact the counsellor there I know that there is a IVF support group that she has established - maybe you could encourage a few of them to join belly belly.

It's nice to see other ladies using them aswell! How do you both find them?

Missy - I will be doing my first FET next month so we won't be far behind each other in the 2ww! Good luck

Gargy - I hope things move quickly for you!

    Hi Jessie,

I go to Dr Illingsworth - he is a brilliant and caring man...

The nurses there are really great, kind and understanding - although some are better than others in finding my veins for blood tests!!

Had a few issues with one of the counsellors there - mainly because she was trying to turn it into a marriage counselling session rather than focus on DI, but that may have just been us.

In the main, I'm very happy with them.

Gargy - I think Dr Illingsworth acually did my last transfer! My doctor is Dr Bernstein we have been very happy with him so far. I also find the staff and nurses very nice and I understand what you mean about the blood test, sometimes I don't feel it and other times I get a huge bruise!

I'm so excited as I'm gearing up to do my first FET and we are putting 2 embryo's back this time! I have my first blood test next week.

    Any updates from you guys?

    Hi Jessie
Im with westmead as well I have found them really good. I should have opu next week around the 25th if all goes well. How did you get them to agree to putting in 2 embies the nurse told us last week that because we are under 35 under no circumsatnces would they put 2 in. I wanted to put in 2 embies to give us a better chance. Im 29 and so is DH.

Good luck with your journey hope all your dreams come true...

    Hi Jessie,

I've taken some time out to have a minor operation (tonsils removed) which should hopefully mean a greater improvement in my general health. My SD has done his tests but I want to wait a couple of weeks until I'm back at work and in the swing of things before I start chasing this again.

Dr Illingsworth is the one with the Scottish accent that looks like he's madly dashed from somewhere - very good doctor though.

    How goes the FET?

    Hey Missie,

    How are you going?

    Hey Nikki,

Did you get the 1 vs 2 embies matter cleared up?

    Hi Nikki,

Who's your doctor? When we were going in to see Dr Bernstein about transferring 2 back, I was ready for him to say no but he shocked us both and said it was up to us! But this is our 3rd try and it's a FET so I don't know if that makes any difference?

Hey Gargy - I think I have Dr Illingsworth mixed up with someone else! How's things going with your donor? I think that sometimes taking a break from all the meds and worries of IVF can do the world go good.

Well I have my blood test tomorrow morning and I think I will be doing the transfer sometime early next week! I'm getting so nervous but excited at the same time! Oh the joys of the 2 week wait

Missy I hated syranel aswell! How long till you start stims?

I had my second blood test this morning and they said I will have daily blood tests until I ovulate (which is any day now they said) so I'll be transfering around Monday or Tuesday! I can't believe how quickly it's happening, I'm getting so nervous

hi Jessie and Missy - I have Just started taking Syranel this morning - what a horrible taste in the mouth and joy, cannot wait for more headaches and those hot flushes!!

but like you Jessie, it is the 2 weeks waiting after the transfer that will be hardest of all... i certainly don't want to get my hopes up, but at the same time, a miracle would be wonderful ! Good luck to you Jessie and Missy.

    Hi Jessie
Im seeing doctor Mobbs but not sure who will do the pick up or the tranmsfer. Have second blood test and ultrasound tomorrow. So hopefully it will be all over by next week and then the TWW im definately not looking forward to that. I work at a catholic school and I went in to get ready for the term and our parish priest was there whom Ive known for 15 years. I told him what we were doing so he gave me a blessing so hopefully it works surley knowing someone connected to the big Kahuna in the sky has to be a good thing hehehehehehehe
