Hi ladies :)
Welcome munchkin! Good luck in your tww! I hope it goes quickly for you and that it brings good news! The tww is never fun though :( draaaaaags on huh!!
Elarwood - oooh honey, I hope that your little embie is just getting comfy and The line starts to bet darker! maybe test again tomorrow morning and compare them! yoir blood test must be very soon?? I'm a tester too! I can never hold out!! I have everything crossed for you! But I can understand ur hesitation, it hurts too much to let yourself get carried away. Hugs to you darlin and praying that good news is ahead xxxx and yes I have alway used FR tests and found them good.. I think they detect 25u hcg
M.mouse - wow I like the sound of those success rates too!!! Gives me hope cause I've been getting quite nervous about it all!
AFM - we are home from our beautiful qld holiday, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world :) I had my last OCP on Thursday and started bleeding yesterday! Yay! So FSH injections start on (2sleeps!!!) Wednesday and then were full steam ahead!!!!! Yahoo! Scan in 1 week and EpU is scheduled for 17th aug!
-
PS has anyone taken Royal Jelly capsules to help with egg quality? If so, can you take them whilst ur doing a stim? xx
-
Elarwood- I do hope you're wrong & you get a BFP.
T-hopes- it sure is a drag! Keep talking myself out of going to buy a HPT. Good luck with your cycle! Is this your first?
-
& I have heard about the royal jelly but I'm unsure of whether you can have during stims. I had bee pollen in my smoothies and continue to do so.
-
Hi munchkin! This will be our 3rd stim cycle... 6th transfer but first time using PGD xx
-
Thanks ladies, I'm loosing all confidence and hope. Another POAS 10dp5dt & still very faint if not fainter than yesterday. Have learnt my lesson about POAS :-(
Munchkin I wouldn't recommend POAS although atleast I pretty much know now & can expect a low beta or BFN on Friday. Ill ask my clinic if I can go earlier so I can stop the awful clexane etc & hopefully go straight into a FET with 2 embryos this time. From what we thought was such a successful cycle having 34 eggs & 6 tested normal, it is really hard to take.
T-hopes I've taken royal jelly capsules during stims before. They personally didn't help us but you gotta try everything right!
-
Elarwood:  sorry to hear the test doesn't seem to be getting any darker, good plan to bring the blood test forward if you can
-
Ellarwood I'm sorry to hear. I have been getting AF cramps during the night so I am too loosing hope :-(
-
Elarwood- just want you to know I'm thinking of you :( xxxxxx stay strong and definetly try to bring ur bt forward if you can honey xxx were all here for you but I'm praying for a miracle for you. Xxxxx
Munchkin - cramping is sometimes a good and normal side effect of pregnancy so hang in there! I was positive af was co,ing with my little boy .. But it never came :)
-
Thanks ladies for all the thoughts. Have not had a good day. Booked a counselling session for tomorrow & will talk to clinic about doing beta on Thursday as I work Fridays & do not want the news then.
Munchkin, did the cramps just start? It could be the crinone.. I have a very sore back, sore under my arms & sore breasts/nipples, all of which only started on Sunday after almost 2 weeks on crinone/pessaries.
What makes it harder is that we know this was a normal embryo. My FS is treating me for immune issues which I've always tested negative for, estrogen & progesterone levels have been perfect the entire time, I know I can get pregnant as our first cycle/transfer gave us DD. What am I missing? The embryo didn't have enough energy to keep going? We must be extremely unlucky if that's the case.
Thank you for listening, as I said it has been a bad day :-(
-
Ellarwood- I'm sorry it's been so tough for you. I think it's good that your talking to a counsellor- someone who is removed from the situation. My dh and I are the only ones who know about our cycle as I didn't want any added pressures, although I know family & friends mean well. Still praying for a miracle for you! Did you get a BFP this early on with your DD? I started crinone 10 days ago and last night during the night the light cramping started and has been on and off today. Hoping it's too early for AF to be arriving anyway 6dp5dt. Take care
-
Elarwood...big hugs lovely! Good that you are seeking the help of a cousellor. Let's hope that this is still the one for you xx
-
Elarwood: did you test again today ? Good luck with the counsellor today
Munchkin: how are the cramps ?
-
Minnie- Woke up feeling awful. My belly is distended and I have a stitch like feeling in my upper/lower tummy and back. Took the day off so I think I'll give the clinic a call.
-
Oh munchkin, I'm so sorry to hear that. What did your clinic day? The uncertainty of the TWW is just horrible. Its harder with no support too, im glad you're on here atleast which ladies who completely understand.
i'm going for beta tomorrow, tried to get one done at GP but he wouldn't mark it urgent & results not in til tomorrow arvo so was a waste of a time. The counsellor was good, much better than the other lady I used to see. I've pretty much lost all hope this cycle, still praying for a miracle. The test I did today was lighter, but I'm trying not to let that get to me. The counsellor was hopeful, he gave me a study done late last yr with success rates 70-75% with cgh testing.
-
Elarwood- Nurse at clinic seems to think it might be mild OHSS and I'm going in tomorrow for a blood test to investigate. She said because I had 10 follicles I was at risk and told me to keep my fluids up. The only good thing I have read is that late onset can be a sign of BFP because the HCG sets it off. Fingers crossed & fingers crossed for your beta tomorrow! X. Dh won't let me POAS before beta grrr
-
It does sound like late onset OHSS, which is a good sign. That's what happened with my DD's cycle & I only had 10 eggs but lots of follicles. Lots of fluid, powerade, protein including sustagen helps. Stay strong & don't POAS, I kinda wish I hadn't as I know I had some Hcg there for a while but seems to be disappearing.
Had blood test at 7.30am results should be ready in next half an hr. not doing too well & holding out just a tiny but of hope that I am wrong.
-
Hcg of 54 which of course is lower than it should be. I knew it. Repeat test on Saturday but I don't think it's looking good. Ideas why a CGH embryo would be a chemical? Joe I remember reading your tested embryo was a chemical.. Devastating :-(
-
Elarwood- so sorry to hear :-( I don't know much about HCG levels but it sounds like you do. What did the clinic say? I know there's probably nothing we can say to make you feel better but if it's any consolation your definitely not the only one!! Heartbreaking. Hoping your HCG miraculously comes up. They took mine today at clinic but not sure i want to know, not sure how I'll take a negative.
-
Elarwood: how awful to be in limbo, it's the worst not knowing. Hoping your hpt will darken in these next few days and you have a late implanter
Munchkin: will you get your blood test results today ? Fingers crossed for you !
-
Oh elarwood... My heart feels so heavy for you :( as Minnie said, limbo is just so cruel :( I know sometimes its just easiest to think the worst but sometimes, miracles happen... This happened to my friend, hcg was 70, she was told not to get too excited anyway... He was born healthy last week! I hope you have a miracle too but know, that if things don't work out, we are here with you every step!!!! Hugest hugs to you sweetheart xxx hold on to that little girl of yours and remember that it will all be worth it xxxxxxxx
Munchkin - good luck today for your betA! Praying you get a nice string bfp! And keep up your fluids! Coconut milk is very good too! I had ohss last time and its excruciating, poor love :(
-
Thankyou everyone. The nurse rang and said it came back positive so I am cautiously excited :-) need to go back monday still. also said I have mild Ohss but nothing to worry about although the Bfp will prob make it a bit worse. Thank you all for being here to listen, it helped so much. Really hoping you get yours too Elarwood x
-
Oooh munchkin!!!! Congratulations !!!! :D. Thrilled for you lovey! You must be over the moon but of course the fear kicks in! Do you know your levels?
-
Thanks! I am! But like I said, still very cautious. 52 she said, not like it means anything to me? She said it was in the normal range. I'm 8dp5dt
-
Munchkin: that's great news, hope your levels rise nicely !
-
Elarwood how many days post tansfer are you? Seems a bit weird that they said 54 was low when Munchkin's was 52 & was told that was in the normal range. I would have thought that was fine for your first bt. But hey I'm no expert! My chem was only at 8 so there was no way that was ever going to end well. Here's hoping that both yours & Munchkin's next tests go well :)
-
Joe- I'm thinking the same as you. Everyone's HCG seems to vary greatly and I think as long as it keeps doubling every 36 hours or so it's good, right?
-
That's what I would have thought. I guess each clinic has their own standards & don't want to get your hopes up too much until you really know which it is going to go.
I would never wish a chem preg on anyone. Even though it is early you do start to feel the early effects of pregnancy mostly due to all the drugs we are on & knowing that it is going to end badly makes it so much worse. If it wasn't for all the testing and knowing exactly where you are in regards to dpt we would otherwise be blissfully unaware and just be having a late AF.
Surrounded by newborns this week & not exactly coping all that well. While I am over the moon for my friends, doesn't make it any easier knowing that I might never get that chance again :(
-
Joe, I can only imagine :-( as if it's not enough that we have to go through all of this and then be left with the possibility that it may not work is just awful... I was watching 60 minutes the other night and the girl who use to play 'Effie' in that tv series was on telling her story of ivf struggles- 10 years of ivf! Including donor eggs and one still born. She has just found out she is pregnant at 48 yo. I was crying so much but she is such an inspiration to any woman doing ivf.
-
Munchkin, those levels sound great for 8dp5dt and the fact you have mild OHSS is a good sign.
Thanks girls for your support its been a very rough day & night of tears anger & frustration. I'm 12dp5dt & levels should be over 200. I've been thru these before to know the chances are very slim of the pregnancy continuing. It def is harder to take knowing it was a competent embryo & much rather have been a flat out negative as ill have to wait for levels to drop & have a month or two off.
I also watched that 60 mins on Effie how anyone can ensure 10 yrs is beyond me. 4 cycles & 18 months is enough for me :-( I have lost faith in my other tested embryos & my body.
Joe I know exactly how you feel. The dream of having another baby seems like a million years away. Such a cruel, unfair process.
-
Elarwood: :hugs: for you, it's so hard, I don't know why 'normal' embryos don't take, I guess there are other factors that come into play as well, sorry you are going through this
-
Elarwood: good luck with your blood test tomorrow, I'll be checking for your update
Joe:  for you also after a difficult week
Munchkin: hope you are going ok, have you been poas to see it get darker ?
-
-
Minnie- I haven't, I just figure it will probably cause me more anxiety than good so I'm just hanging out till Monday.
-
Beta today was 130. It was 54 2 days ago. Nurse said it was good that its going up, but still too early to tell. Now I don't know what to think. I know statistically our chances are slim with such low numbers & not getting my hopes up at all. I speak to clinic on Monday & had also organised to see FS in the afternoon to see what our next steps were.
Munchkin - good luck with beta on Monday, it sounds promising. How's the OHSS?
-
Elarwood- keeping my fingers crossed for you, it seems there is still hope!! Ohss is a bit better, still very bloated but if it means a positive I'm happy to put up with it.
-
elarwood: thats great news ! numbers are more than doubling, fingers crossed its a sticky one !
munchkin: yes you are right, it is a cause of anxiety, you are stronger than me though !
-
Thanks ladies. Long way to go yet but I guess there's a tiny chance. I'd rather know either way as the wait is torture!
Munchkin, you'd do anything to be pregnant! I would go thru ohss again if it meant pregnancy! Mine subsided around 8wk mark with DD my belly never went down & kept growing. I had lots of people asking me at 7 or 8 weeks if I was pregnant - so noticeable! This time my belly is still bloated from the 34 eggs but tactfully hiding any belly. Hope for good news on Monday!
-
Praying for good news for both of us :-)
-
Best of luck munchkin and elarwood for your next bt results tomorrow! I have everything crossed, I'm sure we all do!
Elarwood- a promising sign that ur levels have doubled! Perhaps a late implanter?
Jo - sorry to hear you are having a hard week, I hope the sun comes out for you soon, lots of hugs xxx
Hello to everyone else!
Afm - just on our way home from a lovely weekend away with all my family in the country :) had so much fun! Been injecting since last Wednesday and feeling the heaviness in the ovaries already! Very excited about my scan in the morning to see what's going on! I get the feeling epu may be earlier than the scheduled 17th (Saturday!)
