Elarwood- oh they sending them to my clinic!! I'm with MIVF! :) ok so menopur may be simulate to Luveris?! It is an LH based drug I think ?! He's putti g me on it to hopefully improve egg quality therefor hoping we get better fertilisation results this time round! My fs won't up my dosage cause I overstimmed last time and was very sore and sorry! Will they still do a fresh transfer if you have OHSS? Yes I'm doing antagonist cycle again, I'm on the pill ATM but I've bled thru it so they aren't sure why?! I have my last pill 1st Aug then start FSH 7th Aug!! Bring it on!! (I say that while my knees are trebling! Lol) were off to Gold Coast on Saturday for a holiday, much needed break before we come home and get ready to fight ;)
I think the fact that you got 30 eggs is a great sign! They have lots to test! Try and hang in to that positive frame of mind as long as you can cause the next few days will be the toughest I'm sure! Cannot believe your DD was born to close to my DS!!!! Ooh wouldn't it be nice if our next ones are too !!!!!! You may be my lucky charm! :goodluck:

Wow Elarwood that is something I could only dream of, my first collection I got 4 eggs, 2nd 5 and only ended up with 4 to send to testing out of all of those. 3 survived the day 3 testing, 1 petered out and all were grade 2 embryos day of transfer, just the test results came back with chromosomal defects, complex ones at that. DH and I have done a lot of research since and we are finding a lot of articles including one from a medical university study done in Europe that point to PGD testing, particularly on day 3 to not be foolproof - meaning that they tested a bunch of eggs from day 1, of those say 10 (for arguments sake) that came back complexely chromosomally abnormal from the day 3 testing, half of those went on to turn into completely normal embryos.....they were tested in a lab past the day 8 transfer stage which obviously they can't do yet and then transfer but what the findings said that there is a chance that they are basically discarding eggs that would otherwise have gone onto correct themselves and be normal if implanted. So didn't make me feel too confident in having my 3 grade 2 eggs discarded. Hence why we are taking a break from IVF - I just don't think it was for me, I didn't respond well at all and if they are going to throw away good eggs when I don't have many of them left whats the point ha ha. Of course it's all new testing as this study was only done back in March this year but it will be interesting to see what comes of it in years to come. Good luck girls with lots of googs.....might have to borrow one of yours ha ha ha!

Alison, thanks for the info on your research, that is exactly what I am afraid of & what I've heard. Which is why some clinics like to test on day 5. Our embryos hardly make it day 5 so I didn't want to take that risk! I would lend you any of my eggs, haha, but can't guarantee quality! That's the thing I get good numbers & each cycle a perfect looking hatching blast is transferred & then nothing. We have major sperm issues, DNA chromosome testing revealed a high % of sperm with wrong DNA so I think that could be our main issue.
T-hopes, I read about luveris as I hadn't heard about it & it's similar to menopur except menopur is 50% fsh & 50% LH & luveris is all LH. I'm guessing both are for egg quality. Have a fabulous time on the Gold Coast relaxing before getting started. We did that a few weeks ago & it was just what we all needed. The weather has been perfect up here too so you'll have a fabulous time.
My FS doesn't think the PGD - CGH is worth the extra money, he'd rather transfer the best 2 & do another cycle with that money. We went ahead with CGH without his recommendation based on DH's latest results & purely to try & save putting back perfect looking embryos that are in fact abnormal. Mainly for emotional reasons & not wasting anymore time. He is going ahead with transfer regardless of Ohss, saying that I did a synarel trigger & no hcg I'm at low risk. He will put back 2 cgh normal embryos, what do you think girls? We think still the one for this transfer & if a normal one doesn't stick then try 2. I've been on clexane, aspirin, prednisone & feldene for any implantation issues which I don't think I do but FS treats all patients as if they do. I know for sure that if we do another cycle there's no way he'd let me get 34 eggs ever again.
Minniemouse - wow 1 normal out of 10 is poor odds, but it worked right! I'm hoping we get 10 to test today, it only takes one right!!
-
This is a super quick one to say good luck to you ladies! I only just recently found out that my AMH is abnormally low (was in the paperwork transferred from fertility centre to OB). I guess that's why I was such a poor responder (took 2 cycles to get 6 fertilised eggs, 4 post-biopsy). Anyway, it does only take that one special one, as they say! Good luck, good luck, good luck!!
Fingers crossed for your testing, elarwood - keep us updated! You're off to a flying start!
T-hopes - Yeah!! Bring it on!! Good luck :)
Alison - So pleased to hear you are trying things naturally and all is going well so far. Everything crossed for you!
JoeSpratt - Thinking of you still and good luck for your next step!
Sunbeam - So great to see you pop in! Hope you're well and happy!
minnie - Good to see you! How fast is time flying!?! How have you been feeling? Did you find out what you're having?
Andie - Are you still around? How is everything going?:)
:D

Hi all! I'm started to crap my pants about this day 3 testing.... Been doing a lot of reading after what Alison said and now I'm questioning if we should infant be doing it or should we just try another round of icsi first?! What are your thoughts??? I rang my nurse and she far from reassured me... Wouldn't answer my question about day 3 or day 5 testing directly... I guess I'll email my fs?! Hardly slept last night I've been so nervous about it all!
Elarwood - any update on the Ernie today? Everything crossed for you! I will also be on prednisolone and clexane for this cycle, my fs has always treated me for nkc but had it confirmed a few months ago when he tested me for it!
Elle - thank you!!
Alison - I'd be really keen on reading the article of the study done in Europe? Are you able to tell me how to find it?
-
Elarwood: that's a crazy amount of eggs to get, gosh you must be sore ! Fingers crossed you get a few good to test.
Joe: yes I have had multiple scans since the morphology one and they have all be fine so fingers crossed things will all be good. Good luck with the weight loss and I hope dp is keen to go again !
Elle: good to hear from you, how are things going with you ? I got diagnosed gestational diabetic at 17 weeks and straight onto insulin. We did find out what we are having, did you ?
Andie was having her baby yesterday, I'm stalking for her update :)
Alison: interesting reading, good to hear you are ok about things
T hopes: I was on luveris for the nov and jan cycles and got 18 and 6 eggs so I'm not sure whether it made a difference but can't hurt to try. For the November cycle I was away on holidays and had no monitoring at all, I was also on massive amounts of painkillers because I had a tooth abcess and the tooth got removed during the cycle, it was a less than ideal lead up but in the end that's the cycle where my normal embryo came from.
My clinic didn't do the 24sure testing, they were biopsied on day 3 in Sydney and sent to Melbourne for testing and we got the result back 2 days later.
Personally I wouldn't do Ivf without pgd, with 5 losses behind me and such bad results (even if some were potentially ok but deemed abnormal in testing), I just couldn't go on putting back embryos I didn't know about and getting to 6/7 weeks, be measuring behind, slow heartbeat and miscarrying again then waiting to get my cycle back which would take months.
When I had the 4 tested all 4 looked great on day 5, they were blasts or hatching blasts and the fs said he would put one back and freeze another 2 but they were chromosomally abnormal.
Of course you can get lucky and get a normal one from icsi and no pgd but I couldn't keep doing it. My fs quoted an implantation rate of 60-70% with a normal embryo and going by the history in this thread there were a lot that took if they were good.
That's all my opinion of course
-
Just a quick one to let you know they tested 15 embryos today, fingers crossed we find 1 or 2 good ones. We are very realistic that there may not be any or only 1 or 2.
Oh how lovely Andie was finally having her baby! Such wonderful news.
Thanks Minnie, totally agree about not doing IVF with pgd again we wasted so much time putting back dodgy embryos. Thanks also for the 60-70% implantation rate for a normal embryo. It's still not 100% huh! But much better odds.
Elle - all the best for your pregnancy you had a very rough journey to get there & gives us all hope that pgd can work.
No more updates til we go for transfer on Saturday. Will have to keep busy tomorrow!
-
Awesome results elarwood. Fingers crossed you get a good haul so that you get 1 to transfer & some frosties for a brother/sister in the future xx
-
Thanks Jo. Very anxious about results tomorrow, you just never know with IVF and can't ever be too confident. Going to be a long night!
-
So far so good elarwood! Hang in there!!!! Everything crossed and hoping we read some good news tomorrow! 15 tested is a great start anyway xxxxxx you must be so so nervous! Xxxx
-
Just a quick one lovely ladies, 6 out of 15 were normal! Possibly one more they are still testing. Overwhelmed. Makes me think about the last 5 embryos we transferred could actually have been normal & not implanted. One transferred today & six frozen. We have never ever had so much success on a cycle. Longest two week wait & praying this one sticks! Thank you all for your support. I wish you all so much success with upcoming cycles and transfers. A little high on 2 Valium tablets my FS gives out
-
Elarwood: wow fantastic results ! Fingers crossed you have a sticky one already on board :-)
-
Elarwood!!!! Omg that is AMAZING!!! Siooooo thrilled for you guys!!!! Happy tww!! I hope it goes super fast for you honey and that little blastocyst is starting to snuggle down and get comfy for a 9mths ahead!!! So wonderful you have some frozen! Yaya!
Well we have arrived safely on the Gold Coast and your right... The weather is stunning! So excited to be here to chill with my dh and my little boy :) just what we need before a big August! Finish the pill on Thursday! Bring it on!!!
-
Elarwood that is fantastic news! Sending you lots of sticky vibes & hope that this one is a keeper xxx :)

Thanks so much lovely ladies! Praying its a sticky one. I'm still overwhelmed we got so many normal frosties, I know one of those little ones will be our baby. Pretty sure I'm suffering from mild hyperstim, but managing okay. Will try to keep very busy!
Elle- oh a little girl is precious!! So exciting!
T-hopes, hope you are having a fabulous time on the coast. Yay for finishing the pill Thursday & wait for AF so you can start.
PS ladies, I swapped clinics and FS this time round & although we seem to have had better success I haven't been impressed with their procedures. Ie. all we know about our results were that 6 were normal. I have no idea how many made it to blastocyst, what grades they were, what DH's results were etc precious clinic we always spoke with the scientist for 10 mins before transfer & go through it all, ask questions, get a little photo of the embryo, get movie tickets as a gift etc Not one person from the clinic said good luck either. I guess I'm used to the professionalism of previous clinic, and it really is a small problem and probably the hormones talking but I'm really annoyed about it!
-
Fantastic numbers...Sending sticky vibes to Elle!!
-
hi ladies, just popping in to let you know I had my baby last week, a little 6lb 2oz boy. he's gorgeous & we are both doing well. :)
elarwood - big congrats on your haul... you must be extremely pleased!
goodluck to everyone else, i will be stalking & continuing to hope for the best for all of you. xx
-
Congrats Andie! That's fantastic news. Hope you are all doing well xxx
-
Elarwood- just checking in to see how ur tww is going! Been thinking of you and hoping your good news is just around the corner! xxxx
-
Congratulations, Andie!! That's such wonderful news!! Take care xx
-
Oooh and congratulations Andie!!!! Such exciting news!!! Enjoy your little man :)
-
-
A huge congratulations on the arrival of your little boy Andie! So precious! We were overwhelmed with our cycle & getting 6 tested normal.
T-hopes half way through TWW and it's doing my head in!! Some days I feel positive & okay about it & others I feel it hasn't worked & we wouldn't be that lucky. AF is due Monday it sometimes comes early or on time, other times is delayed due to high levels of progesterone support. Not on any pregnyl & didn't do a hcg trigger due to OHSS risk so I'm tempted to POAS in a few days time. What do you girls usually do? I don't want to jinx it but don't want to wait either.
-
New here
Hi everyone.
I am obviously new here :-) but I have been following for a few weeks now and decided to join (better late than never). I am currently day 3 of 2ww (day 5 transfer). Had pgd for a blood disorder. It looks like some of you are also in your 2ww :-)
-
Welcome Munchkin! The tww is a killer. Let's hope that both you & elarwood get some great news next week xxx
Elarwood I have only poas once & although it was BFP it all ended at 9 weeks in a m/c. My last cycle I had HCG booster shots so couldn't. If we go again don't think I would poas if I could. Not that getting the call from the clinic is any nicer when it's bad news
Sending you both loads of sticky vibes :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:

I am also very tempted to test but luckily I don't have one in the house! Hehe just wondering if your clinic gives you success rates? At the time of transfer my FS said I have a 50-55% chance. Not sure how it compares to other clinics but I'm sure other factors also come into play.
-
Elarwood: I'm an early tester, usually start around 10 dpo (so 5dp5dt), I'd be testing if I was you especially with no chance of having a trigger or pregnyl showing up, good luck !
Munchkin: welcome :) my clinic told me there was a 60-70% chance of implantation following pgd, good luck to you too !
T hopes: where are you up too ?
Andie: congrats again on your little man
-
Thanks Minnie :-) wow! Those rates are high! I'm wondering though if it has to do with why you are getting the PGD done. Correct me if i'm wrong but It seems that most of you here have had it done due to issues like m/c in the past? So PGD has been done to test for chromosomal abnormalities? Mine was done for a blood disorder so I wonder if that is why the rates are lower?
-
Welcome Munchkin! TWW is a killer hey! good luck! I'm 8 days post transfer, 5 days til beta. I've also heard 60-70% success rate after PGD but my clinic didn't tell me any particular rate. Its high, but no guarantees! i wish it was higher! My pgd was CGH for chromosomes abnormalities. I don't have any implantation issues that I know of & my FS treats all patients as they do anyway.
Thanks Joe & Minnie...AF usually beats me to POAS & last cycle I was on pregnyl so I don't usually test. I'll see if I can hold out a few days longer. I've never actually gotten to beta day as I refuse to go when AF has been & gone.
Does anyway know reasons why a CGH tested embryo wouldn't implant?
-
Elatwood- 5 days! How exciting! Good luck, looking forward to hearing about your positive. How many cycles have you had?
Does anyone know how common implantation bleeding actually is? I haven't had any yet...
-
So I caved this morning & POAS 9dp5dt & was a very very faint line. Pre AF symptoms started yesterday so I doubt it's crinone side effects etc i was expecting a darker line & thinking maybe it's only a chemical. I don't know what to think! This is cycle 4 & 6th transfer. I guess I have to prepare myself for either way & only time will tell.
Munchkin I don't think implantation spotting is very common.
-
Elarwood- a faint line is a good start! Remember everyone is different and what is normal for some isn't for others. Your definitely not out the game yet! :-)
-
Woke up with a really sore throat this morning and breasts have been so sore for past 4 days- does everyone usually get this on the crinone (not the sore throat) hehe
-
Elarwood: fingers crossed for you, what brand are you testing with ?
Munchkin: yep I used to get really sore boobs from the progesterone (crinone)
I have had spotting with some pregnancies, nothing with this current one though
-
Has anyone had CGH/PGD tested embryos not implant? If so, what reasons did you FS give you?
i honestly don't think it's good news for us, I felt this way when I had a chemical pregnancy & given the symptoms only started when AF was due. I'm not holding out a lot of hope. I tested with a first response - pink one. They are sensitive right?
Munchkin I usually get very sore breasts on crinone.
-
Hi ladies :)
Welcome munchkin! Good luck in your tww! I hope it goes quickly for you and that it brings good news! The tww is never fun though :( draaaaaags on huh!!
Elarwood - oooh honey, I hope that your little embie is just getting comfy and The line starts to bet darker! maybe test again tomorrow morning and compare them! yoir blood test must be very soon?? I'm a tester too! I can never hold out!! I have everything crossed for you! But I can understand ur hesitation, it hurts too much to let yourself get carried away. Hugs to you darlin and praying that good news is ahead xxxx
M.mouse - wow I like the sound of those success rates too!!! Gives me hope cause I've been getting quite nervous about it all!
AFM - we are home from our beautiful qld holiday, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world :) I had my last OCP on Thursday and started bleeding yesterday! Yay! So FSH injections start on (2sleeps!!!) Wednesday and then were full steam ahead!!!!! Yahoo! Scan in 1 week and EpU is scheduled for 17th aug!
