Just a question did anyone here find it difficult to book their nurses appointment and counselling appointment because they are potentially doing testing?? I calked Monday and they said they would call me back... I called today 2 days later and still nothing... I am getting pee'd off because I just want to start and hope I am not wasting my time taking the pill this month for nothing.

Do you mean you're calling while the nurses are all occupied doing blood tests? I haven't had that problem, we have a "patient relationship coordinator" who organises everything for us - depends who you're with & the structure of the clinic I guess. :( I hope you get that call back soon!
In terms of being scared - glad you're there with me! For me, it felt like it was never going to happen so I kept pushing it to the back of my mind. Now it's here and I am worried about everything from money to what I eat to the vitamins I'm taking to the exercise I am doing - whether I should be doing more meditation, self massage blah blah blah.... I've given myself an extra cycle and I just need to do the best I can....

Nope she hasn't had to time to check the availability of the counsellor.... It's been 2 days and I am already registered there. I have been calling in the afternoon to avoid peak BT time, she was flustered and told me she has too many appointments to try and book in... Take a number type situation. She is nice don't get me wrong but I am not sure I should have to wait this long just to book a time? I know we have to wait for an appointment but I can't even get past step 1 to book an appointment...
Thanks for reading my vent :) I am more scary than ivf this afternoon!!

WMM yay for 1st birthday coming up! I am with a clinic that changed it's name... Clue that! I am sure I am just unlucky. They still haven't called me... I am getting over it.
Update! Nurse called back yay! She is lovely! Only 2 times in the next 3 weeks they have DH is away... Far out.
It's a bit strange.. You should have access to those councillors whenever you need one.
So if your referring to sivf/Genea I think most of us are with them.
Glad you got the call back Joeve but WMM is right, they should have got back to you much quicker!!

How are you all?
I'm going well, started acupuncture yesterday and it was great. I have to have herbs too (eww) so not very excited about that but willing to do anything for our best shot at this.
The countdown is really on, prob about 26 days until we start the cycle - OMG what difference can 26 days make??? The chinese medicine dude thought we could make a good difference on the uterine lining and blood flow to the ovaries. It will be acupuncture every second day while I am stimming. Expensive but that's ok. God I am going to get a good tax return this year LOL!!

Acupuncture is going well and I'm having herbs too. I have been doing lots of research into egg quality (which I can't do much about at this stage I don't think) and uterine lining and they seem to bother be really important factors. My acupuncturist is focusing on "preparing the soil" so I think that is really good.
It's expensive though, my first session was $160 and I got $30 back, further sessions are $85 I think and I'll probably get back about $30 until I reach my limit. Bring on tax time, it's going to be a doozy!!

i hope you don't mind me popping in here, short story is we have 2 children but since them have suffered multiple miscarriages around the 7-8 week mark, each pregnancy has measured behind on scan with a slow heartbeat and then a week later the heartbeat has gone and i have miscarried.
so after 2 9 week m/c in row (& a few earlier ones) we decided to try ivf in the hope of being able to pick a strong embryo we might avoid the same problems, we got lucky and fell pregnant first go but my scan last week showed it measuring behind again, i had the confirmation ultrasound today that this pregnancy has gone the same way and now im waiting for the miscarriage.
so my fs has recommended pgd and here i am, i know a little about it, from what you girls know do you think it is worth a try for us ? from what i read in this thread most of you have had pgd for genetic issues ? is there anyone here who has had pgd for recurrent miscarriage ? would you mind sharing your stories or anyone who wants to give me advice would be great
Minnie hello sweet, as you know I was recommended for recurrent m/c. After much deliberation we are doing a non pgd cycle this time. I hope you get some answers and you are in my thoughts xxx

Well had the 12 week scan last week and all is looking well!
obgyn appointment yesterday and he is happy with all so fay,,,,,,,Today i have my appointment with the midwife at the hospital......looking forward to the offcial side of it all!
