Minniemouse - we r doing pgd as I have chromosome translocation which has caused recurrent miscarriages. After about 2-3 yrs of trying naturally I felt like something was wrong perhaps due to the fact I had leukemia as a child. So we eventually went from royal women's hospital where we were diagnosed i guess u could say, to Monash ivf where we had our first cycle in jan this year.
Unfortunately we got a BFN the first time so here we r again hope this is the one.

....sorry to ask but do u now why ur g's recommend pgd? Do u know what they are looking for? As u said mostly pgd is done for genetic reasons & I'm new to this so don't know what other things they test for.

J.Bear: sorry for the delay, we are away & I'm on my phone. So far I have only spoken to my fs about pgd (I assume I will speak to someone further at some point), I got the impression they weren't looking for any specific chromosome condition but would be looking for the most common chromosomal abnormalities, down syndrome, trisomy 18 etc & just see if we have mostly chromosomally abnormal embryos

Oh that's ok MM - Well I hope it all goes well : )

Joeve - thanks so much, going mental but it's all worth it (hopefully) I hope all goes well with ur cycle. Take care xx

Hi ladies!
Sorry I've been so busy with Easter, visitors etc!! I am on day 30 of my cycle today so I think I'll get AF any minute now. I had acupuncture yesterday too and it felt really "strong" so I think that she is on her way. So I will start jabbing in the next few days and it will probably be a freeze all, so then a transfer maybe in May/June depending on when my next AF comes.
I have a goal in my head, trying to be realistic so I'm not let down when the time comes. My goal is 20 eggs (I'm being mega stimmed as it's really a numbers game for us with the PGD because of a 50/50 disease), 15 fert, 8 are good disease free embies. That's my aim and I'm sticking with it - gotta stay positive!!
I've been finding it really hard to concentrate, it's been nearly 2 years since we started this bloody journey, it's hard to believe we're here. Last night I went to sleep listening to a fertility meditation and I woke up feeling so much better, so I'll be making a habit of that.
Hope you are all well. xoxo

Hey BF, good to hear from u. Sounds like ur on a nice & healthy path! I hoped get ur goal numbers : ) Have done acupuncture previously? I was thinking of trying but don't know much about it.

Morning ladies!
AF arrived this morning! Business time!
I phone the clinic at 7.30 and haven't heard back yet - they will call me soon to organise a blood test right?
Hey J.Bear, yep I did acu a few years ago for stress & back pain and it was really useful. There are still two schools of thought on whether it truly does improve your chances but the guy I go to here people swear by, and it is helping me focus on my zen at the same time LOL!!!
-
Hey BF woo hoo how exciting I hope the nurse has gotten back to you? Sounds like you've done lots to focus on your mind body & soul's health so I hope you get your goal numbers :crossfingers:
I got a BFN today, so bummed! But i was thinking of looking into acupuncture & meditation while we take some time off for a few months.
How are the rest of you lovely ladies?
-
JBear so sorry. Wishing you lots of peace and good work restoring your soul & figuring out what's next for you.
I picked up my drugs this morning, just waiting on the nurses to call and tell me when to start jabbies! I'm on puregon, orgalutran and ovidril trigger (not that that means anything to me yet LOL)!
Hope you all have a beautiful day.
-
Thanks BF I'm trying to focus on the positive, our health & happiness. Oh & our savings because this has been so expensive. It's very hard not to feel jaded sometimes so I think acupuncture & meditation would be really helpful.
So have u start jabbing yet? Don't worry you will quickly remember what needles u need to do at what times. I hope everything goes well & get lots of good healthy eggs. I won't be on here as much but am keen to check out how ur going. Good luck xox

Hi JBear,
Thanks for popping in and asking about me!
I'm not far off trigger... I have over 30 follies but quite a few are still at the 12-14 mm mark so FS is letting me go another day or so. I have felt my ovaries all day so hoping I had lots of growth today, I'm off for another scan in the morning (3rd day in a row). I'm over it and want these eggs out and to get back to normal!! I was feeling quite OK this morning but back to feeling like a puddle of mud (or something else that looks like mud) now!
Hoping you find lots of peace & a great mindset for the next step - whatever that is for you. I think the meditation & acu is a great place to start for mind & body. Sending you peace!

Hi ladies
J bear I'm sorry for your news .... I hope things are more positive next time....
B f: how r u going?? what stage are you up to?
How is everyone else????
-
Hey BF, thanks for your support & well wishes. I hope things are progressing well for you, how did egg collection go?
Lu! Good to hear from you, how are you going?
AFM - I had my follow up appt with FS today & she seemed surprised that we had not had success with the last 2 cycles. She wants to do a hysteroscopy to check & test uterus..... so I am booked in next month. Then will get the results in July & hopefully do another cycle August. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Has anyone ever had a hysteroscopy?

Hi ladies,
How are you all going?
I'm in the TWW at the moment.... going out of my mind.... We had a day 6 fully hatched blast transferred on Friday afternoon. I feel slightly crampy & have had a couple of dizzy spells but that's it. I'm worried that because it was fully hatched it should have implanted quickly but I have no signs.... I'm going to try and wait til about Thursday to do a test and then I have bloods on the following Monday.
Everything has gone perfectly with the cycle though and we have 4 unaffected in the freezer, which was exactly what I was aiming for. The EPU was painful (got 24 eggs) but I was OK within a couple of days. The ET was totally nerve-wracking waiting to find out who we had that made it to test and were unaffected. If I don't fall with this cycle I'll prob have a couple of cycles off then go for the frosties. We had 9 tested in total and 4 affected so that was a real reality check.
Lu - what are you up to?
JBear good luck with the extra testing, sorry I can't share any experience on all of those extra tests, but hope it turns something useful up for you & that they are not painful tests.
-
Hey BF, good luck in the TWW! Sounds like you had great numbers for pick up & to have 4 frosties...well done! I hope this one gets you your BFP & those frosties aren't needed just yet. So have POAS yet?
Thanks for your supportive words, I really hope the testing gives us some answers. I'm trying to focus on my health & stay positive but it's really hard sometimes.
How are the rest of you lovely ladies?
xo
