Thanks, ladies! We're so happy and just hoping that everything continues to go well. My BT results from yesterday were HCG 758, Prog 196 - so all looking good so far :) Another BT next Tues (and then I'm *hoping* a scan not long after).
How is everyone doing?
-
Oh wow congratulations Elle!!! How very special. It's awesome that you get to have a scan so soon!
How is everyone else going?
I am transferring nemo tomorrow. Pretty nervous, any last minute sticky tips?
-
jbear: how are you ? how many weeks are you now ?
Andie: how are you ? is your big scan soon ?
babymama: i hope nemo is snuggled in tight, i asked my fs should i take it easy and he said i could but its more for your mind than anything
alison: how are you ? have you recovered from the stim ?
elle: great news your numbers are going up :) how soon will the scan be ?
afm: another blood test today numbers up from 1773 mon to 4446 today so all going well, my scan is looming and I'm seriously scared
hi to everyone else
-
Hi BabyMama - oooh sorry I missed your post (I don't get notifications anymore for some reason) - I hope Nemo is settling into their new home nice and snug xx
Hi Minniemouse - wow your numbers are going up amazingly, there's not 2 in there is there? ha ha. I'm much better this week, struggled with the recovery from the collection, remind me to really drink the 3 litres of water they tell you to next time, I was in so much pain from the bloating I felt awful but all good by the Friday. I'm just in boring limbo land now, finished the Provera last night and just waiting on AF. Have to sit this cycle out and then next AF get going again. I hate waiting........... So when is your scan, is it a 7 week one? xx
Hi Everyone else, hope everyone is doing well.
-
elle - those numbers sound great! :)
babymama - hope you're coping ok in the tww... it can be an anxious time. wishing you the best of luck.
minnie - your numbers sound great too! completely understand your fear of the scan, i think i told you i cried at mine... even before i went in. i will have everything crossed for you. xx (i am well, had ob appt yesterday, heard the heartbeat which is always a relief. next big appt will be around the end of march, 21 weeks).
hi alison & everyone else.

IVF with PGD # 9
Great numbers Elle & Minnie! Sounds like everything is going really well.
Babymamma, my only advice is drink lots of water & make sure u don't do anything you don't feel comfortable with (like lifting heavy things ect), there's nothing worse than worrying that the outcome might be effected because u lifted something heavy or over did it. Goodluck hope that lil nemo is nice & comfy in there & sticks nicely.
Sunbeam, how r u doing? Any news? I'm hoping everything is starting to pan out for u.
Andie! I can't believe u'll be 20 weeks in march!!!! How exciting : )
AFM, I'm 25 weeks as of last Thursday everything is going well. Always thinking of our journey & all of u lovely ladies.
Hope everyone else is going well x
-
Hi Andie and J Bear - glad everything's going well for you, 25 weeks already wow!
AFM - I'm in boring limbo......finished the Provera 3 days ago and still no sign of AF, I was hoping due to my crap progesterone levels in a natural cycle that as soon as I stopped them AF would come. I always get it 2 days after finishing the pessaries, do these absorb more or something as the pessaries are a higher dose? Anyway not much I can do but wait wait wait. So, by the time this cycle comes and goes and I start the next round it will be 2 months in between. Which also means if I don't get my minimum of 6 eggs out of the 2 cycles I may have to go back for a 3rd cycle which would be yet another 2 months from the next one. Argh this is so annoying, I'm ready to go again, I hate waiting, patience was never my virtue lol.

IVF with PGD # 9
hi ladies... pretty quiet in here atm.
minnie & elle - still patiently waiting for your scan? hope things are going well.
babymama - how's nemo going, do you have your BT soon?
alison -still waiting to start your second cycle?
hi jbear, sunbeam & joe - hope you're all ok. xx
-
Hi everyone,
How is everyone going ?
I had many meltdowns last week because my hcg levels weren't going up as much as I would like, I was convinced it was all over again, it was not a good week at all & my stress levels were extremely high however I had a scan today and all is looking good, it was measuring 6 weeks 5 days (which corresponds with the clinics due date - although I would think I should be 7 weeks cause epu was 5 weeks ago today ?) and had a :heartbeat: of 146bpm :-) so that's a hurdle over, now it hopefully continues :)
Come and update us everyone else :)
-
***Sneaking it to say Congrats to Minnie for a great hb. And as for being 2 days out a mm is a day apparently, so its easy to be just off. 2 days is close enough. Good luck with everything.
Sneaks out ***

IVF with PGD # 9
Thanks everyone :)
My gosh baby mama congrats, the pgd obviously makes a difference to those little embryos taking !!
Jbear, Vic, Andie how are you going ?
Miss.b has your cycle started ?
-
Hi Minnie - so glad everything is looking great, that's a lovely strong heartbeat xx
Hi BabyMama - whaaat, that's awesome news congrats to you also!!! xx
AFM - I have just finished AF brought on by Provera after my collection, so I have my Day 21 nurses appointment on the 18th and then as soon as AF starts I'm good to go for cycle #2. Hoping I get another 3 at least to test so I can avoid a 3rd collection.
-
A bit quiet in here! Been on holidays since March 7th and just checking in to see what I have missed and there's been none!
The day before we went on holidys got the news that our PGD feasibility testing has all been completed and they are ready for us to start. Excited is an understatement!!! Now just waiting for AF to arrive so I can start the pill so we can get the timing right for the PGD. Not often you would hear me saying this but bring on AF!
Hope everyone is travelling well xxx
-
Hi Girls!
Hi JoeSpratt - I too thought it was quiet in here! That's great news for you, I wish you a very successful cycle fx fx fx!
AFM - well I thought I was all ready to start for cycle #2 only my nurse had been giving me the wrong info. I'm not booked in for my 2nd collection until the week of the 19th April so I have another bloomin month to wait grrrr! I just had my 2nd AF since the first collection and this cycle I was on no drugs and AF arrived on CD19 which is even bloomin early for me gah so sucks. Has anyone else found wacky cycles after being on Provera and having collections? Thing is I can't go on the pill now because I have this MTHFR gene (blood clotting disorder) so I have to go back on the Provera to get my cycles in sync with the collection. 2 years of fertility treatment and I've just about had enough I think, I want my life back so here's hoping by some miracle I get a good egg and a sticky BFP soon or I'm done.
How is everyone else going?
xx
-
hi girls,
joespratt: good news your testing is done, have you started your cycle now ?
alison: how frustrating you have to wait another cycle, the waiting is so hard
andie:  for you with your scare, hope things settle down from here, good to hear bubba is all good
elle: how are you going ? come and update us :)
babymama: how are things with you ? have you had a scan yet ?
hi to everyone else
afm: i had another scan yesterday, all is looking good, my symptoms decreased on the weekend and i was really worried things were over but bubba was in there measuring 9 weeks and 1 day, next scan is the NT, hopefully all goes well until then

Hi Minnie - so glad everything is going well gosh how scary for you, I imagine we'll all be feeling this way when we finally get our BFP's. Do you plan on finding out bub's sex later on? So excited for you xx
AFM - well turns out I don't have to go on Provera after all, because AF came when it did (albeit it super early) it lines up nicely with my next collection so that's good. Fingers crossed for some extra follies this next one. Has anyone on here done the testing on less than 6 eggs?
-
IVF with PGD # 9
Alison: I had 4 tested with my first pgd cycle & all 4 were abnormal. We aren't planning on finding out the sex, want it to be a surprise :)
-
Yeah thanks Minnie that's why I guess my specialist is saying no point on less than 6, argh, I was hoping to only pay for the PGD the once hence why I did the batch testing, but i only have 3 from the first collection so I need to get another 3 next one to make it worthwhile. Hmmm......
-
IVF with PGD # 9
Alison: my clinic quotes 60-70% will be abnormal so I guess it you look at it on numbers alone if you test 10 you *should* get 3 or 4 normal but I had 10 tested the 2nd time & only got 1 good but they said that was a bad result (no kidding !)
-
I did my PGD a long time ago (6 years - eep!) when freezing wasn't as reliable. 2 embryos made it to testing (out of 12 eggs), and both were free of my silly gene. Both were transferred, as my FS thought that gave them the best chance. And 1 turned into DS.
At that time testing any embryos you had was standard practice.
It depends a bit on why you are having the PGD - if there is a specific gene you are trying to avoid then it may make sense to test smaller numbers; if you are trying to find the viable embryos in a lot of not so healthy ones then you may need to get a bigger batch.
-
minnie - great news about your scan, very pleased for you! xx
alison - i got 7 embryos to testing, 2 came back normal. i am 34 with no known genetic problems & unexplained infertility. i was told that my result was what they expect to see in a batch of that amount. i hope you get a nice batch for testing, 6 would be a great number. goodluck, ill be stalking. ;)
hi everyone else, hope you are all doing well - cycling or waiting to cycle, waiting for scans etc. :)
-
Alison - With my first PGD cycle, I got 9 eggs collected, 8 fertilised, 6 made it to testing, results only conclusive on 2 which were deemed normal with one resulting in DD & the other
It was the first time my clinic had done PGD for this gene & were ecstatic with the result!
AF finally came so I am back on the pill to get everything aligned. The clinic called to say we are booked in for 13 May (& no it's not a Friday - had to check!).let the countdown begin!!!! (Just a little excited )

IVF with PGD # 9
good news, joe. goodluck. : )
-
Thanks for the info girls, so I'm really stressing about not getting enough eggs this collection now, I'm a low responder and only got 3 last time so if I need at least 6 altogether I'm going to need another 3 this time but hopefully more argh! I am full of a cold atm so glad it's now and not in another 2 weeks.
Good luck Joe with your next collection, mine's happening in the week of the 19th of April so getting a little anxious now.
-
Hi ladies! It's been a while! I have had on and off dramas with this site over the past month - not sure what's going on there?!
I'm so happy to see that everyone is doing well!
Congrats, babymama!
Alison - Best of luck to you for this cycle! I ended up with 6 embryos for biopsy, 4 of which were in good condition post-biopsy. We got extremely lucky with PGD. The 2 embryos that didn't make it post-biopsy were the 1 that was affected and a carrier. 3 of the other 4 embryos came back unaffected/non-carrier (the other one was a carrier and was a hatching blast, the most advanced of all of them)! The embryologist told us they were great PGD results. We got lucky, but there you go, look at what can happen! I hope that helps you in some way xx
minnie - Awesome news!! Isn't it amazing to see that heart flicker when you're so worried that something could be going wrong?! I hope all is continuing to go well for you and that you are feeling ok.
Andie - How are you? What is happening for you at the moment? I hope you're doing really well xx
Does anyone know how Sunbeam is going? I haven't seen her post recently (unless I've missed something?!). Hope she's well.
Hello to everyone else!
:)
AFM - Everything is going well. I have had 2 scans and have seen that gorgeous little heart beat! Most recent was last week at 9 weeks and the HR was 169bpm - we even saw some wriggling and it was so wonderful. I said to my husband, it's like it makes it feel just that much more real. Even after seeing the heart beating, I was in awe of seeing some movement, like our little one seemed more 'alive' or something. Next scan (first trimester screening) is in 2 weeks, at 12 weeks. Finger crossed!! Oh and I have been feeling ill, ill, ill... The computer screen has not been my friend, which is another reason I have been quiet. It's hard to get things done when you feel so blah all the time. Oh well, as long as it's for a good cause... ;)
-
Hi Elle - congrats that's wonderful news I feel soooooo happy for you. Pooey to feeling blah, I had it 24/7 with my daughter but it's totally worth it to get a sticky one and it's a very good sign of a nice strong pregnancy. I'm saying girl for you, my daughter's hb at that point was 169bpm too and I felt rotten. Thank you also for your information, it has definitely pepped me up a bit, I've been feeling a bit worried since reading the stats for the others so it gives me hope that you just never know. xx
AFM - had my nurses appointment yesterday, picked up all my drugs so as soon as AF comes we're off and racing! I'm hoping it's still a good week away as I'm only CD13 today, I think I'm ovulating at the moment but have noticed some brown tinged when I go to the loo on the paper so hoping it's just ovulation, lower back aches too are pretty strong but I only finished AF a week ago so surely it's not coming even earlier - last month it arrived CD19, not sure what that's all about, it's early for even me! But I'm excited as they're trying me on a new injection this cycle called Menopur, anyone tried it? It's new to Australia apparently but it's meant to be more effective for people like me who are low responders to the Puregon, so fingers crossed it gets me more googies this time!!!!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well xx

IVF with PGD # 9
Hi everyone,
Joe: is your cycle underway ?
Alison: how are things going with you ? You sound like you are reaching the end of what you can take, fingers crossed for you that you get at least 3 more eggs and get a good number to test
Elle: great to hear from you and that things are going fine, we must be due within a few days of each other i think. Are you going to join a pregnancy buddy group ? I'm still too scared too !!
Afm: I'm 12 weeks today, yay, my next scan is Wednesday and I hope after that I can stop the clexane
-
Wow Minnie 12 weeks already!! Bet it hasn't flown for you however. Congrats on reaching the milestone. What are you on Clexane for? I have to have it too if I get pregnant, I have an MTHFR gene (blood clotting disorder) which I never knew about until recently - I am super nervous though because back in June I had a sc bleed due to a massive clot and that's the only time I've ever been on Clexane in pregnancy so makes me wonder if that bloomin caused the clot which in turn I miscarried!!!!! I only wonder because the tissue was tested after my D&C (at 9 weeks) and everything came back normal - no chromosomal abnormalities. I'm just waiting for AF so I can start my injections, I don't think I O'd until CD17 in the end going off pain and EWCM so who knows when AF will come. Anxious to get moving though!!!
-
hi ladies,
elle - so glad to hear everything is going well for you, your next scan must be soon? hope you're feeling a bit better lately & the nausea has settled down. i am going well, 24 weeks at the end of this week & seems to be going so quickly now. xx
minnie - 12 weeks, yay! hope your scan went well today & you got some good pic's. :)
alison - i hope af turns up soon and you can get started. the waiting around is the hardest part sometimes, especially when you are desperate to get going. xx
hi to joe (& sunbeam if you're reading... ;))
-
Hi Girls - well we had to postpone my collection :wall: I had a scan and bloods done and AF was looking like another week away and as I was due to go in next Friday they said there's just not enough time - typical, why did I have to ovulate a week later than usual this month argh!!! So I'm now on Provera to hold AF off - I am going to be soooooo cranky and bloated by this time next week and I will stop it this time next week and hope AF shows within a few days. So my collection is now booked in for the 6th May. How long between collection is transfer usually?
-
Alison, hope you don't mind me popping in...
Sorry your cycle was cancelled :( I have never heard of a clinic booking a pickup ahead of time. Every clinic I've heard of arranges pickup to suit your ovulation date (ie. it's booked after all your scans, etc) Is this a possibility with your clinic? Why do they need to book so far in advance? Would you consider changing clinics? It just seems like a really arbitrary way to do it which is adding to your stress :dunno:
-
sorry alison, how frustrating. with my pgd cycle i was put on the pill to try and get the timing right for collection. in the end things worked well but i responded quicker than they expected on the stimulation drugs & they moved my pgd forward a couple of days. not sure what sort of testing you are doing, but i had my egg collection, then biopsy done on day 3, testing on day 4 (i think), transfer on day 5. i hope the provera does its job & things go well for you new collection date. xx
n2l - im with mivf and they do book in pgd cycles in advance (never had a regular stim cycle collection pre-booked, at mivf or the other cilnic i went to). something about having a certain amount of spots available for testing/lab work etc. although there must be a bit of flexibility as my collection ended up being a couple of days early. i remember being in my fs's room & listening to her firmly inform the lab staff on the phone that i would be having it done early bc my health (ie didnt want to coast me bc i had responded 'too well') is paramount, not the lab schedule. the lab/nurses didnt want to change my booking date, but in the end did it.
