AFM waiting, waiting, waiting....spent Friday and Saturday at the babyshow, have never seen so many pregnant women and newborns together in one place. Surprisingly it wasn't as hard as I thought, my lovely friend (who had a stall there) thought it was because of all the fertility in the air :)

Dutchie & Anyos, hope you have both been getting busy with your men and we see those BFP's in under two weeks! hopefully some of that fertility in the air at the baby show rubbed off on you anyos.

WLAB - an o/s trip sounds exciting, here's to lots of fun for you in the coming months before you get back on the rollercoaster.

BecD - congrats on the weight loss! 1.5kg in a week is fabulous. Hoping boot camp is giving you results but not being too brutal on you.

Hi Mummy2Chloe (where are you - hope all is ok?), Hollybolly, Possums and anyone I've missed.

AFM, BT Sunday had me baseline, which is great, scan showed 7 follies on one and 6 on the other, biggest at nearly 12mm - which means i'm a few days off yet. FSH boosted to 225 daily now, another BT today and still baseline, Orgalutan shots start tonight. I have another scan Wednesday. FS says EPU will probably be the weekend. While this kind of cycle has less drugs and is shorter I'm actually finding it much more stressful as there are more scans and BT's and I'm runnning around to appointments all over the place almost every day. Feeling ok so far though - starting to get that heavy ovary feeling, fingers crossed there's a great egg in there for us.

Finally got a call back from FS and the plan for next cycle (if we even do one- I'm not keen but DP is) is to try another antagonist but just with clomid, no FSH and to start orgalutran earlier this time. I think they're only willing for me to keep trying because I'm young, not because they believe it will actually work which doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence but we'll see how we go. I also got the 'you need to think about ED' and that was horrible, so not ready. Anyway I'm yet to decide if we will do a cycle when AF arrives or wait until Nov as we have an appt with another FS on Oct 12th and we can't be cycling at the time. It'll be interesting to hear what she has to offer if anything!

AFM - I'm 14DPO today... slowly going crazy as my blood test isn't until Wednesday :doh:
I have been a naughty girl & started with the HPT's at 10DPO :redface:
On the positive side of that though, I have had 2 lines every day... this mornings was nice & strong.
Trying to keep my head from racing ahead, as we all know as LTACers that its the blood test, HCG numbers & first scan that prove everything.... OMG bring on Wednesday!!! My blood test is 8.30am so at least I won't have to wait all day for the results! Am very nervous!

Infinity- it sounds like things are going nice and smoothly for you, all the best for your scan on wednesday, i will be thinking about you, hoping and praying that out of all the eggs you have, the golden one or two is in there xxx so sorry i havent been here much to help and support you through this cycle, but i am here now and i will be holding your hand all the way ;)

Dutchie- it broke my heart to read about your cycle being cancelled, i know very well how horrible and devastating it is, if you ever need to talk i am ALWAYS here for you my darling xxx if it helps i would wait till nov to do your next cycle, just so you can see what your other FS has to say? and by waiting till nov, this will give you a little more time to heal and grieve over your last cycle. I am truely sorry i havent been around, i wish i could of been here to help you through this tough time. i completely understand your feelings about not being keen on doing another cycle. I rang my ivf clinic today to tell them that i wont be doing another cycle with them until march, which will be after our wedding, it was one of the hardest phone calls to make, but i feel that i need to put ivf on the back burner for once as for the last 7 yrs we have lived, breathed, ate and slept for babies, so i think i need a break ( as much as i dont want to) just so i can build up my strength again so when we do our last cycle in march, i can give everything i have!! if i tried to do a cycle now i think it would make me depressed and very stressed and thats not how i want my very last shot to be like. anyway hun i will be here and holding your hand with whatever you decide to do xxx

Holly- its stories like yours that keep giving me "hope" cos you and i have have been ttc our second babies for the same amount of years, and it always is a nice feeling when you here about another long long long ttcer having success, it keeps us "going"
i am sooooo happy and thrilled for you darl, wednesday feels like forever away lol

AFM- like i just said to dutchie, we wont be doing our 3rd and very last cycle till march :( but i know its for the best, but it doesnt stop it from hurt any less. But on a happy note, our wedding plans are going great and they are keeping me VERY busy, but i am loving it :)
i will try and come in here more often, i am missing you all heaps, i havent been on bb much at all lately, having a few withdrawls lol

M2C- thanks sweet girl for your kind words, and no need to aplogise for anything, I completely understand. I had such high hopes for this last cycle but it wasn't to be but we will give it one last go too. I have also decided to wait until Nov so I can go to this FS appt in Oct. It's hard having to wait and I understand how hard it must be for you to wait until next March to try again, waiting truly does suck at the best of times but it sounds like you could really do with a break, 7 years of constant trying is a damn long time and I can only applaud you hun but atleast when you do go back you should be refreshed and revived and able to put you all into it. It's good to hear your wedding plans are keeping you occupied in the meantime and I'm very glad to hear you are enjoying organising everything, that it's all going well and that you have something very positive to look forward to while you are waiting. Keep us posted!
Anyway hun, we'll all be here for you, cheering you on when you do return to cycle.

AFM- We have decided to do one last cycle in November, I like M2C really need to just have a break from it all if it doesn't succeed. Until then I'm just patiently waiting for the 12th when I will go and see a new FS and see if she has anything new to offer, so that should be interesting. I have also finally booked DP in to have this surgery (yay :dance:) date is the 17th of Dec so that's something to look forward to and it should be here before we know it. Hopefully we'll be able to have a realistic chance at trying naturally which would be nice. FS would like me to go in and have a HSG done just to check my tubes too which is someting else to look forward to...not, FS said it's a bit of an uncomfortable procedure but no pain no gain hey. I just hope they're are not blocked because I guess if they are then IVF is our only option and that's a bit depressing to think about right now. Anyway, I have always wondered whether we would have more of a chance naturally since that doesn't require multiple eggs and I do O on my own, I guess we'll just have to wait and see ;)

Dutchie - It is so apparent different FS's think so differently, one FS said to me "having a HSG was the way to go", and another I saw, said "it's a waste of time". It is quite an uncomfortable procedure, and I wonder why, your FS suggested it, and not a lap or something.

AFM: I am going public for my Lap (saving money, and it turns out one FS I saw does them at Mercy Hospital anyway) I really think it is the way to go for me, after all these cycle's, to check out what, if anything, is happening.

Ist letter with date - I was in ivf no 5 TWW
2nd letter with date - The day I fly out :wall:

What are the chances, I really need this LAP, and dont have PHI, Im tired of paying outa pocket expenses :wall: now I wont get in before our FET in November .... I will have to pay $1000.00 outa for the bed fee (my fs will bulk bill my lap) I got offered a third job yesterday, I think I will have to take it :redface:

WLAB- A HSG was suggested as we need to check out whether my tubes are open because DP is going in to have his blockage operated on and we will give it a go naturally for a while. I guess that's pointless if my tubes are blocked. I believe they don't think that a lap is necessary for me which is unusual as FS once commented that it looked like I may have a bit of endo :rolleyes: Anyway, I now wonder whether a lap would be worthwhile esp just to check out whether I do infact have a bit of endo. Can they look at the tubes during a lap? - this is all very new to me.

BOL with your lap though I hope it doesn't interfere with your plans too much but I hope it gives you some more info to work with.

When you have a LAP they can flush your tubes, I guess if trying naturally is the way your going, for a while, it would be advantageous to know. However, I truelly believe investigitive procedures are worth doing, while your still at ttc stage. We spend so much money, time and energy on IVF, it makes sense to rule out any problems before we go forth.

AFM : I rang the hospital and pleaded my case and they moved my date to the 5th of Oct - Yay ... I can have a lap in a womens hospital, and as my fS requested it, he will get the results.

WLAB- Yay for having your lap brought forward, that's good news. Hopefully now it won't interfere with your upcoming social events.

I'm now thinking of questioning FS about whether a lap would be worthwhile too, perhaps I can have it done at the same time as the HSG. I'll be having that done publicly so I guess there might be a bit of a wait so it would be good to kill two birds with the one stone as I hate to have to wait for a HSG and then for a lap. I'll probably mention this to the new FS I'll be seeing on the 12th BTW thanks for that recommendation very much looking forward to what she has to say.

Dutchie - they can flush your tubes whilst doing a lap... I had this done a few years ago.
Have also had the HSG as well. If you're in as a public patient though the lap may be a bit of a wait xxx

AFM.... today after 7yrs TTC baby #2 DH & I got our first ever :bfp: from IVF!!!! OMG so good to gain some faith in the science, I can tell you :p
We are just thrilled - fantastic numbers, & we're having a repeated BT on Friday just to check that levels are rising... my progesterone levels were fantastic which is SUCH a relief as this has been an issue for us with past cycles.
A little surreal at the moment, but after Friday's blood test & then the scan in 2 weeks I might feel a little more at ease ;)

Dutchie, I hear you on the 'you're young' thing - this seems to be my FS's fave expression. while i am grateful for being younger it doesn't necessarily make it any easier - so what if I'm young, we've been trying to have a baby for nearly 5 years and no baby yet - what good is time if so far nothing seems to be working - does that just mean 10 more years of this? So far my 'being younger' hasn't helped in the slightest :( Sorry for the negativity - this whole IF thing sucks no matter how old you are are what you're up against! I hope your HSG goes well, no harm in checking things out. Glad you'll be getting a bit of a break too - I did that recently and while the wait was hard I think it really helped.

M2C - hello - so glad you dropped in :) It sux waiting until march but sounds like you have plenty to fill the time. enjoy planning your big day, wish I could plan mine again - there is so much more wedding stuff now, dresses are awesome, funky bonbonierre (sp?), and unique things to do. So so fun - enjoy. xx

Hello to everyone else, :loveshower:Cuddlepie, anyos, BecD, possums, toby and anyone I've missed.

AFM: Scan yesterday and FS is very pleased. I have about 10 follies on each side, 2 or 3 are almost 18mm, FS has dropped Gonal back to 112.5 and continue with a daily orgalutran. Trigger will be Sat night and EPU on Monday. So we're basically coasting, letting some of the smaller follies catch up a bit. We are hoping for less than 10 mature eggs and FS says things are looking good for this. If we have fertilisation the plan is to go to blast and transfer the following Saturday. So for now it's just waiting - looking forward to Sunday being a drug free day :)

wow so much is happening in here and some good news too.

AFM: well not much, DH has been a bit of a pain and since we have had a BIG break since march when we had our last FET done he is having second thoughts about doing it all again.

but the thing is he said yes when we had finished all our embies to trying again and i am just using that moment of weakness to ask again, i said i am not happy and if we don't do this one more time i will not be happy.

M2C hope you're traveling well. How are the wedding plans coming along?

AFM had pregnyl sat & yesterday for luteal support, feeling nauseous but pretty sure its just the drugs. Had BT yesterday and progesterone/estrogen levels looking good, waiting to POAS next week. Have been discussing the situation with our FS (who's amazing), naturopath and GP - conclusion is that IVF isn't working for us. I'm just not getting the numbers although there are still eggs there. So depending on the outcome of this cycle, will have a break over October and cycle one last time in November.

infinity- woohoo sounds like things are coming along very nicely, very BOL with EPU on Monday. And yes, it's very frustrating to get the 'you're young' speech because like you, that doesn't mean that things have been any easier or I've been able to get pg any quicker, it's so annoying but your right, ltttc is hard no matter how old you are!

anyos- So glad to hear that your P4 and E2 levels are good. I have my fingers still tightly crossed that you can achieve a miracle this month. I believe I'll do one last cycle in Nov too, it would be great to be cycle buddies again though hopefully neither of us will need to cycle again. The new FS I will see on the 12th is at MIVF (who I'm with now) but I'll see her at the Freemasons and not at The Women's Hosp. where I go now. Hopefully she'll have something new to offer though I'm not really sure since my results are so dismal, but it's still worth going, I may be wrong.

JBM- I hope you can bring DH round, you've been so patient waiting!

AFM- I think I may just go ahead with this HSG and not the lap, I just don't think my current FS thinks I need it but I will ask the new FS I'm seeing and see what she thinks. I'm not sure about the whole endo thing, I have absolutely no symptoms (though I know that doesn't mean I definitely don't have it!) but my GP who I've been with for 10 years and is really fantastic doesn't seem to think that I have it at all. So I will, for now, just go ahead and book the HSG and ask new FS if she thinks that a lap is necessary aswell. My current FS is, to be completely honest a bit hopeless. Anyway, I'd hate to think about how long it would take to get a HSG and a lap done publicly and DP's surgery really is the priority right now but I might look into getting a lap done privately when that's all done and we have the funds together for it.
After writing all this I think I may just email current FS and ask whether they think a lap is necessary and whether we could do that instead of a HSG since I can have tubes checked during a lap and just to check out this endo thing plus I really don't fancy having to wait for 2 procedures in the public system- geeeez :rolleyes: decisions, decisions.
