Hi Kate - I'm in melbourne so no help there. I would recommend going to see two FS's. may cost you a couple of hundred, as you can only claim visits to one FS in a 30 day period from medicare, but better to interview them being proactive, and get one you really like and who you think will do the best job for you. Switching down the track as I have had to, just wastes time, any way that is my perspective, formed from plenty of experience.
Hey Loula - sorry to hear about BFN. Poor darl' Good luck with detox, I'm sure you will feel better for doing it.
Molly girl - look after yourself love. So disappointing I know, you'll get there. Probably worse as you thought the probelm was solved with the tubes. Feel for you.
Ms Pink - hi love
Lilmisshaveachat - hi and welcome, or welcome back. Always like to hear success stories.
Cp - hope your job issues have been sorted out, usually take a while and not like you need another stressor! Borrrrring!
WouldloveaB - is a flare a 2 week cycle? if so you will be in TWW with me hopefully.
To all the lovelies: Briggsy’sGirl - ButterflyW - Dusty - Gargy - Hope - Meredith – MelBel - MummaW - Muppetshow - Smithy - Sara69 - – Babydreamtime :hello:
AFM - DH birthday today, so have been organising fun birthday week for him. got him Thomas the tank trains and track so he can play with DD, and a book. Went to dinner last night 2 glasses wine and feel quite crook. 2 glass screamer. back on the straight and narrow as will have FET in about 2 weeks. Very heavy period and yukky after having the OHSS. BAck to feeling myself though, so that is super dooper. Also went back to natural blonde on Tues, and so have great hair again. Its all about the hair girls!!!

Hi Girls,
just did a post and lost it, grrr I hate that!!
Kate - maybe a good idea to go and see a couple of FS, may cost you a $200 extra but a good investment I think. Then choose the one you like the best and who you think can do the best job for you. From experience when you change FS it can mean starting all over again and just wastes time. any way that is my 2cents worth.
Ms Pink - Hi and hope you had an encouraging appt with FS. Back on the horse love.
Loula - so sorry to hear of BFN, poor thing. it is tough. look after your self.
Mollyg - so disappointing, and especially as you have solved the problem with the tubes, you poor love. I always recommend hair or retail therapy, even if just something little.
wouldlovea - is flare a 2 week cycle? if so you will prob be in TWW with me if all goes well.
sara - hope you enjoying your break!!
hope - hope the down reg going well.
Lilmisshaveachat - welcome, or welcome back! Always like to hear success stories.

Hey everyone,
I'm a newy to the whole assisted conception having done my first AIH or IUI cycle (DAY 16 atm). (I have been on Letrozole alone for 7 cycles prior to this)
On my Day 12 scan they found a good sized follie on each ovary, plus a few other smaller ones. I never knew that you could ovulate from each ovary within one cycle  and dr said it wasn't normal, but not abnormal.
Of course i then came home and googled it till i could google no more and just wondering how common it actually is? Has anyone here experienced it?
I've been told by a psychic that i will have twins as my first pregnancy and that something will happen by the end of 09. If i double ovulated this cycle (was on letrozole to induce ovulation) will that be expected with me each cycle or is it a rare thing that may only happen a couple of times in my life?
Hope someone can help....
Fingers crossed for everyone enduring the assisted conception and all it brings.....good luck to those on the TWW.

Have i stumped everyone? :(

Hi mumma sorry you havent had any replys to your question yet. im not posting much at the moment while on a break and dont know the answer to your question.
I guess you can o from both sides, anything is possible. i havent experienced it myself
GL with your cycle and hope that it does result in your twins! x

Hi Ladies
Haven't been posting much lately as I am in limbo about what to do next and just focussing on trying to stay sane. Seems a bit quiet in here, not sure where you are all up to but hope that everyone is doing well.
I am having the craziest thoughts at the moment. I have 2 frozen bubs left and obviuosly I want to do another FET, but at the same time I am scared to use them as the thought of having to go through yet another EPU scares the hell out of me. I want to use them but I don't want to use them!!!! How crazy is that !!!
-
Hi Girls,
Mummawannabe: Welcome , unforntautely I don't have an answer to your question.
Loula; hope you are well and you break helps you to relax and get new strength
Molly: It sounds like you are in a hard place there, would be a very hard decision to make. Just to make sure, is it the EPU or the thought about a new full stimulated cycle? If it's just the EPU, I was put under for it (was the decision of my FS not my own) and only actually found our afterwards what was involved - maybe that would be something you could consider? Hope you find the right way to go for yourself.
Sara

hi guys,
haven't been on for a while either. have had bad back pain. urgh if its not one thing its another. anyway anyway.
MummaW - I think it is quite rare, but maybe the ovulation drugs helped do it. anyway good luck.
Molly g - did you not have a general for your EPu? is that waht was bothering you or just the idea of it?

Hi loverlies
I have posted a poll in the LTTTC/AC area about whether the current financial crisis is affecting LTers ability to access AC. If you are interested in participating it can be found HERE.
I continue to lurk and check up on you all. Nothing much happening in my TTC world, but maybe this will heat up in the next couple of months :crossfingers:
Spreading :bluedust:
xx
-
Thanks for sharing that Dusty! im sure over the comming weeks my answer will change! it is not just AC payments but all the other things that we do to try to make it help, ap and np for example.
-
Loula : I agree totaly, it is ironic that loverly Dusty posted a poll today, when I posted earler in another thread, I was in shock at the price of meds to sustain an embryo transfer. I actually thought as I was typing we should send a petition of sorts, to the government to help us with the costs of ttc.
How long has medicare subsidised AC been in?
-
Lou, WLAB I just copied your posts over to the poll thread to carry on the conversation over there ;)

Sara, Samandpoppy - i think its the fact that i have had 3 EPU, a laparoscopy and surgery to remove my tubes all under general anaesthetic in the last 2 years. I always seem to take for ever to recovery from the ops and i worry about going under so often. Last time i developed mild OHSS and was really sick for quite a while even though i was on the exact same dose of gonal f as the previous 2 cycles so my FS is a little unsure about what dose to use next which makes me nervous too. I just want to fall pregnant from my frostie bubs and then say good bye to IVF 4ever!!!
-
MollyG - can so understand that! it sure is hard work. Having had "mild" OHSS the last 2 stims I understand, its so not fun. But the only way forward is forward, whatever that is for you.
AFM - discussed time limit with DH last night, had been dreading it, but just left me felling unsupported. Another discussion required. It is mainly me that has to do it, so up to me I reckon! Got to feeling very depressed when went for first scan for FET, so may have a break. Not sure yet, depends on how feel by Tues, when second scan and what FS recommends. Am thinking about trying homeopathy again, had good result with v strong ovulation from homeopath in Blackburn, Melb, but a long way from me. If anyone knows good homeopath in south eastern suburbs let me know.
-
Mollygirl, do you have PCOS? It can lead to unpredictable responses to stim drugs and make you much more likely to get OHSS. I got it quite badly twice and then through careful control of my diet we managed to avoid it on stim cycle number 3. Let me know if you want more info...
Typing one handed right now - just dropping in to let people know I'm still reading and cheering you all on.

do I know you???
actually probably not a good idea to post this. I am going to edit this because If I do know this member I don't want to ruin her anonymity on the site. I wasn't sure anyway. so sorry if I caused any embarrassment.
-
Hi ladies,
It sure is quite in here. I have been hanging out in the LTTTC thread mostly and don't often post in here, though I guess I am technically more LTTTC with AC than anything else.
Warning: BIG VENT!
I have to admit (I hope I don't offend anyone), that I sometimes get a bit over seeing other LTTTCers who do one or two IVF cycles, get their BFP right away and move on. I am sorry if this is selfish or insensitive, but I am really ready for it to be my turn. I feel a bit like I am being left behind, perhaps that is something you guys can appreciate. I used to envy the women who get their BFP naturally, then it was the ones that only needed to do IUI, now it is the ones that do one or two IVF cycles.
I am up to 8 cycles and 6 ETs now, more than most, but I know not as much as some. Again, I hope I am not offending, just needed to get this off my chest. I never thought this would be me.
And whilst I am trying not to stress too much in my TWW, I am still obsessing and can't get it off my mind. I have so many reasons as to why this cycle, out of all of my previous cycles, just might work. But I am too scared to hope, I don't know how I will cope if it doesn't work, and fear I will rapidly lose any hope that I will ever get my BFP.
Sorry for the vent, this is the last thing you need. Will make sure I come back tomorrow and spread some positivity. In the mean time:
Samandpoppy, hope you are well, I have been reading your thread on thyroid, I have just seen my GP how has put me on to T3 tablets. I will post what is going on with me re TSH in your thread. Also, hope you are feeling a bit better, what did you decide re your FET? Best of luck and hope your back pain has left also.
Hope, how is your cycle going? Hope you are going well with your jabbing and sniffing.
Mummawannabe, I have heard it is possible to O naturally from both sides, but I think it makes sense that any type of stim drugs could cause you to produce follies on both sides, it definitely happens with full IVF cycles. I would love twins too. GL with your cycle.
Loula, I hope you are going well detoxing, thinking of you.
Mollygirl, I know what you mean re the fear about doing another stim cycle. The way I would look at it, is that it would be another chance for your FS to make changes to your protocol to hopefully improve your embies. My new FS explained that they have the ability to manipulate 3 variables. One being embies, she has suggested no more down reg cycles, would like to try a flare cycle, introduce (I think she said) hcg injections during the stimming phase and a few other things, and aim for a smaller number of follies with better quality. Just fyi the other variables were endo lining and ET technique, which makes sense. Thinking about you and hope you come to some decision soon.
Sara, not sure where you are up to exactly, though I do know you are still on your wheatgrass. I hope it gives you the results you are hoping for.
Dusty, hi, I read your blog and laughed about Em's comments, what a gem.
WLAB, what great follie numbers, all the best for your cycle. Praying it is a BFP, sending lots of :bluedust::pink-babydust:
BW, hope all is well with you and your little one.
Jbub, gosh, you must be some sort of super detective :p, I don?t know what I would do if someone IRL actually spotted me on BB after everything I have revealed on here . BOL for your coming cycle.
To everyone else I have missed, hi, hope all is well. Hugs to all. xx
