Hi everyone,
Well I did promise to come back in with some positivity, I would have so loved to have had a BFP, but not meant to be. I am 12dpo and POAS are still BFN, AF is due tomorrow, I have an appointment to see FS on Monday at 2pm to go, hopefully, right into a flare cycle. This will be my first I have only done down reg. Will let you know what the protocol is as she mentioned something about hcg during the stimming phase.
Lulu, hope you are going ok with the Prednisone, I have been taking it too, but so far have not noticed any side effects, though at the moment am only on 12mg a day. Am praying with everything I have that this is your cycle.
Samandpoppy, glad to hear you are in a positive frame of mind, crossing everything for your FET, hope you can O soon.
Possums, thinking of you.
CP, best of luck for this cycle, I will be interested to hear how you go, I think FS will be putting me on something similar this cycle. I hope that this makes all the diffence for you.
Sara, praying your FSH level looks good next week. Hope AF arrives soon.
WLAB, hope your cramping subsides, as I mentioned in another post, I always have plenty of cramping and pitching, for me it can only attributed to the prog (as no BFP yet). Wishing you all the best for this cycle.
Loula, hi, hope you are going well, thinking of you. Big hugs.
Mollygirl, I know you are not checking in much, just wanted to say I am thinking of you, glad you are looking forward, and would love to catch up for coffee whenever you are free.
Hi to everyone else. Will drop back in on Monday and let you know how I go with FS, sort of already getting excited amidst the let down, if this makes sense. Hugs to all.

BDT - I am very sorry sweetie. It certainly doesn't get easier does it. So glad you're moving forward straight away - it makes coping easier.
You know your own body.. so I am not going to give you any false hope (because that's what kills me..) but will tell u that a friend of mine got only BFN's with POAS and BFP with BT. Me - well I still tend to believe my POAS as it hasnt let me down yet..and did tell me the one time I was PG - but honey, it does happen.
I am on 10mg of the Prednisone and go up to 20 after EPU. I don't know if it's my imagination or not but am sure my face is already starting to look fatter (after 3 days). I hope it's my mind - because right now..it's something I really don't need. The self-esteem aint that high as it is..
You're moving forward is great. Don't be hard on yourself getting sad either - it's soooo normal on this horrible merri-go-round.
Take care lovely..
-
well if dh agrees to do another IVF, one day says yes next said no ?!
we will have to move over to this thread because we have been doing IVF for a year now.
this is sad
but i suppose i have to except it.
good luck to everyone else.
-
Ahhh JBM - I don't think any of us really like being here honey..
The good part is you have a great bunch of chickies who are full of knowledge and empathy ready to share..
Hope DH gives you the go-ahead..

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to some of my dear friends in here. I have been a bit self absorbed in my own rollercoaster journey but still thinking of you all and praying to see this thread empty very soon
CP - didn't realise you had started a cycle. I have everything crossed for you darl
Lulu - A special hello to you. I don't know how you keep up your cheery posts despite what you are going through. I really, really, really want to see you out of here ( for the right reasons)
As for the pred, I have been on it for almost 10weeks now at 20mg and can't say I have noticed a single side effect ( althougb hard to be sure when you are on so many drugs with IVF)
I have actually lost a fair bit of weight ( stress and illness I think) so defnitely no moon face here.

Hi, I am new to the forum but have been reading along for ages. I am heartbroken after a missed miscarriage and D&C 2 weeks ago, and on Friday our IVF doc told us that he wanted us to wait 2 full cycles before starting again. (We had no frosties after the 1st cycle) This was not the news I wanted to hear, I wanted to jump back in again straight away.
Anyway after reading through this thread, I am astonished at the grace and strength that you all show during this TTC journey, you are amazing women, giving love and support to others while you keep the faith yourselves. I hope you all realise how inspirational you are.
-
Andy - hello and welcome. I am so sorry for your loss. I never really understood exactly how devastating a miscarriage was till I sadly went thru it myself. What I did learn is that everyone is different. Please give yourself sometime to grieve. We all handle it in our own way and some longer then others. You certainly don't forget.. but time makes it easier to deal with.
With regards to your FS making you wait 2 cycles..well sometimes it depends on the uterus size etc. He wants your body to recover and get back to normal. It has worked hard. As I was over 10 weeks along, I had to wait 3 mths because my uterus was already so expanded.
Take care of yourself and know that we are here whenever you need to talk or vent..
-
Thanks so much MsPink. I have booked myself in to see the grief counsellor next week, just to have someone objective to talk to.
-
Hi everyone,
Andy, I am so sorry , I can't even begin to imagine, after the heartbreak of TTC, and now this. I hope you can take the time to grieve and when the time is right start again with renewed hope.
Lulu, thinking of you too, you have had such a tough journey, I hope that the light is at the end of the tunnel for this cycle.
Meredith, thanks for dropping in, I have been following along with your posts also, my heart is breaking for you and hope you can come to some peace of mind.
JBM, so glad DH is coming around. I have read your blog, and been thinking about your situation, if I read correctly you have had just the one EPU? Is this right? I am hoping just one more ET from embies of a new EPU will make the difference.
Sara, hi, hope AF arrives soon and hope your FSH level is where you want it to be. Praying for you.
Loula, hi I hope you are well. Thanks for your kind words, I feel the same way, it is sometimes so hard and scary to hope for fear of disappointment, but I can?t do anything else. So straight back on the horse. Thinking of you.
CP, sorry to hear you aren't feeling so great, I too am scared and praying that this new cycle will be ok, make the difference, give me better quality embies, bring me my longed for BFP. I posted in another thread that my FS was aiming for less eggs, it sounds like you may have the same number as previous cycles, but my FS also says that the protocol should have a better impact on quality, so there is some hope there. Can you guess that I think my FS is pretty good, (my FS this, my FS that) I hope my faith is justified? But no seriously, this could make all the difference. I see you are posting in the PGD thread, are you doing PGD this cycle? Praying for you.
WLAB, sending you all the sticky vibes in the world for your TWW, I hope this is the one, and the biggest congrats for your frostie. Let's hope this will be baby number 2 for you.
Possums, hi to you, I see O is coming soon, best of luck with DTD naturally.
Samandpoppy, BOL for you FET this month.
Mollygirl, looking forward to Saturday, will call you after my scan. Big hugs to you.
AFM, today I have started my first antagonist cycle and am so excited, I am on 75 FSH, I have a scan on Sat, the next Mon and Wed, and if all goes to plan EPU on Friday, I am amazed by how short it is, am loving not having to do the pill and Syneral, but a little scardie about the orgalutran injections. I am still on the prednisone, FS is happy for me to continue this, so am taking quarter tabs (about 6mg) until trigger, the full tabs, 25mg for 5 days, then back to half tabs from there. I have stopped the Clexane injections from the last FET cycle, and won't start these again until day after EPU. Am still on low dose aspirin for the next few days, but will stop for 7 days before EPU, and have now been on mega folate and B6 and B12 for three weeks. Surely with everything I am taking, something has got to give. After this, I don't know of what else to add to the mix. I am hoping and praying.
Hugs to everyone. xx

Hey all - lurking a bit, sorry but rooting for you all, so to speak!
welcome andy.
BabyDT - goodluck. Orgalutran (orangutan) no big deal, just like any other preprepared injection. Bit bigger needle than FSH, but no problem.
AFM - waiting to Ovulate. up to D22, and another scan tomorrow. cycle out due to OHSS. should have got onto Chastree sooner as always regulates my cycle. Bugger! anyway will see.
-
Okay girls I am in as well, starting antagonist cycle tomorrow, my FSH was 15.7 so practicing deep breathing at the moment, will see if i get past the first BT/Ultrasound.
Sending :bluedust: to all of you.
Sara

BDT: good luck for fri EPU.
yes i have only had one EPU, got 11 eggs, 7 fertilised with ICSI, 3 not mature enough. they said good job, all good for Freeze.only one didn't survive thaw, maybe new embies would be a good idea, thanks for that. xx
mspink: thanks for the welcome.
meredith: good luck to you
andy: good to take some time, i had 3 FET in a row and i was so emotionally drained at the end of it, maybe some time will be good for you. sending you some good luck vibes for next time.
sam&poppy: bummer OHSS, hope you feel better soon.
Sara: goodluck to you. BTW, what is antagonist cycle? i have only ever done full IVF/ ICSI and have heard others talk of this but do not know what it is, maybe i being a busy body ?
anyway good luck with it.
AFM: well i don't feel as bad about being LTTC for 12 months now, since saw FS anyway. who knows what we're really doing anymore,
another IVF
donor sperm
donor embies ( someone has offered who has some on ice)
inter-country adoption ( DH wants, but totally cannot afford)
i do not know what is best. i am just trying to get on with some sort of normal life for a little while.

Hello ladies
After being absent from BB for a little while, i have decided to jump back into these wonderful threads!
After our most recent failed cycle (FET in Feb '09) DH and i decided it was time for a change in FS and clinics and are now with Dr Bowman at SIVF. So far, we are very impressed with the clinic and with Dr Bowman himself. He was wonderful at our appointment, very informative and professional as well as down to earth and friendly.
Dr Bowman suggested that we try an antagonist cycle as all my other cycles have been the long down reg cycles. Seeing as all my tests have come back fine in regards to immunology etc. the problem seems to be with the quality of my eggs due to the big numbers i tend to produce so he believes that the key is to get a smaller number but better quality eggs which by doing the antagonist cycle he hopes to achieve. So now i am on provera to bring on AF and then i get to start jabbing..Yiipppeee!
I look forward to getting to know all you ladies and following your journeys.
-
Hi Paula,
Glad to hear you are happy with Dr Bowman, I have heard good things about him, and hope that a new FS will make all the difference for you.
I too have just started my first antagonist cycle, there is a thread in this section talking about Antagonist Vs Long Protocol. Though I have not responded as quick as I had hoped, FS was planning for 9 days of injections, then trigger and EPU on day 11 (or CD12), but I have quite a few follies (about 10) that were too small and only three that were coming along. I was on FSH75 but have upped it to 100FSH (which seems to be my magic number). I love this type of cycle though, given it seems so short, and with no pill or Syneral, however I had to start Orgalutran on day 5 of injections because I had a 13mm follie. So with the extra days of stims it means I will be on Orgalutran for over a week, at $80 an injection it is very expensive. I hope it will all be worth it.
Hope AF arrives soon and GL with your jabbing, looking forward to hearing how it goes for you.
-
Hi Paula
Welcome back although I am sorry that you have had to come back to this thread and not a pregnancy thread. There are quite a few of us in here that have had long journeys and I am feeling that it is our time to experience some success. I think that the next wave of BFP's really deserve to go to some of us LTACers.
So fingers crossed for your upcoming antagonist cycle. You won't be too far behind Babydreamtime, and I will be having another FET in May!!!
-
Baby Dreatime best of luck with this cycle. I too am glad its going to be a shorter cycle plus i hated Synarel with a passion so i am glad that i dont have to go through that again. As for the Orgalutron, i nearly fell over when i found out the price. Boy those injections are very expensive when you consider all the other costs involved with the whole IVF procedure. Never mind, it will all be worth it!
Thanks Mollygirl. I definately agree, all the ladies in this LTAC thread deserve to move onto the pregnancy thread very soon! Lead the way Baby Dreamtime :D
Still on provera, take my last tablet on Saturday then wait for AF. Cant wait, cant wait!
-
Hi everyone,
Paula, GL, hope AF arrives soon.
Mollygirl, yay for your FET in May, I hope the prednisone makes all the difference.
JBM, hi to you, congrats on the great results on your test.
Sara, I hope you are tracking well with your cycle, grow follies grow.
Samandpoppy, hi to you too.
AFM, I am endlessly frustrated, after having such high hopes for this cycle, my FS has cancelled and converted to IUI as I only have 3 dominate follies and lots of little ones. So it seems that the FSH dose should be the same, regardless of doing a down reg or antagonist cycle. I wish I knew this first. I am sick of this trial and error and hate that my body won't get it right. I have no real hope for an IUI and am only doing it now so as to not waste the cycle altogether, along the with the cost of the Orgalutran. I only have the faintest glimmer of hope having never done IUI before, but am I just kidding myself?
It just seems like one blow after another and I am getting now where. :wall::wall::wall:
Hi to everyone else.

;) just wanted to wish all you girl all the best,i have every thing crossed for you all.
