Chez, I'm pretty sure someone spoke to G. I had her call yesterday and she was absolutely brilliant at passing on the information I needed. I saw J today for my blood test and spoke to her this afternoon, she's lovely... but Bev is the one who'll bully me into doing what I need to do to take care of myself. Pretty much all the nurses there are absolutely fantastic, and the girls on the desk know me by sight now. I just love all the staff that work there.
Apologies to all... I got some important news on the phone today and then proceeded to go into complete melt-down mode so I never actually got here to update. I had my final lucrin injection tonight, and final puregon injection of only 25IU. Today's E2 levels were around 8000, no more blood tests, no more scans, trigger tomorrow and EPU on Friday. I've been quite stressy with all the what-ifs running through my head but I've been slowly hunting them down and killing them with logic. Not easy with my tendency to become anxious with high E2 levels! It all comes down to the fact that David does keep a very close eye on me, he knows what he's doing and I can trust him.
Not stressing is easier said than done, though.

Good luck Butterfly Warrior with your EPU hope all goes well.
So what does everyone do or not do after transfer?
:)
-
i pretty much take on normal life again after transfer Belle - provided i feel up to it! the first couple of days on the progesterone seems to make me very sleepy, so i'll have nana naps when i wouldn't normally, but apart from that, i just do my normal stuff! i DO avoid any heavy lifting or going near kitty litter - basically just behaving the way you would if pregnant i guess!
my u/s was today to check lining - it's all looking good - FET is booked in for next week (all going well with the thaw - we have two frosty bubs left and want them both on board by the end of next week!!)
-
Thanks, Belle. I was decidedly dozy this evening and ended up doing my trigger 20 minutes late! I'll call the clinic tomorrow and find out just how much of a problem it is (hopefully not much!).
As for after transfer - I'm like BG, and pretty much carry on as normal. I just eat as though I'm pg - no soft cheeses (not that I eat them anyway), no cold chicken, etc... I rest if I need to, press on if I don't. My health issues in the past have got me pretty in tune with my body so I just do what I need to do when I need to do it. I keep going to work as normal.

Hi ladies
BW -I hope the EPU went well today. I was thinking of you and trying to send lots of positive thoughts your way!
BG - sounds like things are going full steam ahead for your FET next week. Good luck:pray:
Me - I had my 2nd acupuncture session yesterday morning. I went in feeling like a bundle of emotional nerves about to burst into tears and left feeling calm and refreshed, a feeling which has continued, which is great. I am counting the days now until AF arrives next week before b/t and then hopefully begin another flare cycle. I paid our money to NGF - yikes! - but at least it is much cheaper than SIVF, even if we do have to drive to Sydney for EPU and transfer. I am hopeful that the herbs that we are on and DF's improved health and fitness levels over last year will add up to success this time around. Although, I did have some hot chips with lunch today... as a bit of a treat with visitors here. I doubt it will make much of a difference when I have been so good all week.
Anyway, must get back to my visitors. They have NO idea about TTC or IVF so am sneaking this quick message in. Take care all and enjoy the long weekend!

Thanks, Chez and everyone else for your kind words and support through the freak outs this cycle has brought on!
20 eggs at EPU today. No sign of OHSS but the scientists want me to take care and do the gatorade thing. Still expecting to transfer, but it's a case of don't do anything stupid or you may not be up to it. Most pain I have is from the procedure itself (gas! ugh!), but I've had no bleeding at all this time, my ovaries are fine and apart from two panadeine around 10am I've had no pain relief. Huge difference to normal!
Chez, I'm glad you found acupuncture helpful. It is so good for calming me down when I get anxious! If you get really bad, ask about leave-in ear needles, they are brilliant! I'm glad everything's steaming ahead with NGF and I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do. When it comes to EPU, David is THE BEST! Kim and Georgiana are nice, but I've now had one EPU done by all three doctors. David's the one who gave me least pain from the actual procedure (vaginal pain, gas pain, etc) despite being the one to get most eggs. Georgiana's not bad, but Kim seems to be a bit brutal. It's not so bad for women who don't get the stupidly high numbers of eggs that I do, but it helps to know what you're up against with each of them. Enjoy the hot chips (I'm drooling!)... and I'll refrain from the reminder that they nearly ruled me out of being able to have a fresh transfer this time!
BG, my almost-transfer-buddy... I'm sure this is the one for both of us where things go right the whole way through!

Congratulations BW it is wonderful news that this cycle is on track for you - good luck wit TF this week some time
best of luck to everyone else
-
BW - that is great news! Congratulations :dance::dance: I am just ducking in quickly - I am supposed to be doing the washing up before dessert and was just dying to know how you went. 20 is a huge number but I am so glad that you haven't hyper stimulated. Rest up and drink lots of gatorade. Here comes transfer - yay!!
xxxx
-
congrats on the 20 BW
hope all goes well with fertilization and avoiding OHSS..
AF arrived lunchtime yesterday so BT tomorrow to find starting date for puregon. hopefully start tomorrow night!!
-
Thanks, Sonya. Unfortunately we didn't get great news regarding our embryos today. Of the 20 eggs that were collected, only 12 were mature. Of those 12, I think they said that only 9 were suitable for ICSI... and then things just get worse and worse. Last cycle, everything that was able to be ICSIed fertilised. Not this time. We're left with only four embryos. It kind of takes the shine off having avoided OHSS. We may end up having to go with a day three transfer instead of blast - depends how nervous they get about whether we'll get any to blast or not. I'm feeling pretty devestated. We went from everything going so well to having it all pretty much crash in a screaming heap. Or perhaps that was just me when the scientist was done talking to me.
BW
-
Oh BW  - please don't be down. 4 embies is still a good number and hopefully they will be nice and strong so that you can continue to blastie, if that is your preference. I am thinking lots of positive thoughts for you  Hopefully your phone call today will be lots of good news about your little ones!

Hi Sonya
Good luck with the b/t result today!
Chez
-
thanx chez
BT showed progesterone still a bit high. FS wants BT again on weds and expects i will start puregon then. i forgot about how much waiting is involved in IVF.. grrr! but... good things come to those who wait
BW - i know 4 embies is a big contrast from 20 eggs. but it sounds like they are already little fighters! good luck with embie growth and imminent transfer. are you going 1 or 2 embies - if you dont mind me asking?
enjoy the rest of the weekend everybody and take care ;)
-
It will be one embryo only. It's all my FS does. I figure that if he's not going to let a friend of mine transfer two embryos at the age of 43 and dealing with crap egg quality, then he's hardly likely to let me do it at the age of 33! Transfer is tomorrow... I think I'm ok with the transferring early part of things. If I'd still had all four embryos going strong I might have been tempted to run the gauntlet of blastocyst culture, but this morning there were two at 4 cells, one at 3 cells and one that hadn't divided at all - something else we've never had before! Anyway, it's not like people don't ever get pregnant with day three transfers!
Chez, I'll be interested to see if you and your FS can change his stance on single embryo transfers...
Sonya, I hope you are able to get started soon and that prog level drops quick smart!

Hi Everyone :D
BW - There's not much more that I can say that I haven't already in your journal and the vent thread, but just want you to know that I'm only hoping for the best for you tomorrow xxx
I still think you need to throw the hugest tantrum with David tomorrow and demand the transfer with 2 embies :p
Chez - So glad you're enjoying the acupuncture - I would be a total mess without it!
Hoping that everything is just perfect with this cycle - and the hot chips won't make any difference at all ;)
Sonya - Praying that your levels are perfect when they re-test and you can get started asap!!!
A big hello to everyone else... nothing much happening with me and TTC atm.. just waiting for CD21 to have this BT and get started!!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend... thinking of you tomorrow BW
-
Holly, you've been an amazing source of information and encouragement through this. I'll keep the tantrum in store for IF we only have two good embryos tomorrow. I expect he'll continue to say no, though, and in reality, I'm not sure I could cope with twins.
Feeling rather ouchy tonight, so I'll go depart to the much more comfortable location of the sofa. I believe I've discovered the whereabouts of my right ovary... it's actually not too far from where it belongs, but I'm a little disturbed by the pain. Hopefully it's just my intestines brewing something and not a sign of OHSS setting in!
BW
-
Hi everyone
Just popping to check up on you all.
Sonya - I hope your levels sort themselves out for your next b/t so you can get started soon.
Holly - I know all about waiting for b/t day, but then don't we all! ;) May patience be your comfort during countdown to CD21!
BW - posted in your journal, but I have to say it again, well done on the transfer  and all without too much pain from OHSS! I just got my paperwork from NGF today and have on my list of things to query the notation about only transferring one embie. I will definitely be talking to my FS about that. We already decided last transfer that if we had 2 embies then we would transfer 2 - nothing has changed except that was 10 months ago! I will let you know how I go.
PP - hi, hope all is going well with you.
Anyway, quick update, am waiting for AF to come, hopefully on Thursday or Friday. I have had sore boobs on and off since ovulation and weird feelings in my abdomen but I have had these pg like symptoms before and still had a BFN. So I am not putting much attention into any of what my body is feeling at the moment. I am just trying to focus on the next step of AF then b/t with hopefully good levels to start cycle #3.
Hope all is well with everyone. Will pop in again soon.

Chez, I wasn't going to ask to transfer two unless two was all we had. We got in there and found we had three, so I never thought to ask. Until we were all finished, David had finished up and I was perched precariously on the chair trying not to fall off and waiting for him to leave before I started dressing myself (although I did once start dressing while he was still in the room, it's amazing what you find yourself doing after a bit of IVF!), David then turned around and said "by the way, that noise you can hear, it's your other two embryos being frozen". It had been going the whole time we were there. So... even if I had asked, my plans were foiled by them already starting the freezing process before I could speak! I know that some of the other doctors there have transferred two, but I also know that David is dead set against it. I'll be interested in seeing how the discussion pans out...
Feeling very hurty after my transfer today. I'd kill for a heat pack or really strong painkillers... alas! I will have to do without both!
BW
-
BW, congrats on your fresh transfer! :) Hope your little embie is nice and snug and planning on hanging around for a while yet!
Chez, good luck with your upcoming cycle. :)
I had a call from my FS' rooms this afternoon. He wants me to come in to discuss my blood test results from those 10 or so vials I had taken a week or so ago. I recall him telling me that he would call if there were something of concern, otherwise just to assume everything is ok. So now, obviously I am scared of what is to come. To make matters worse, I have to wait until Friday. I feel sick knowing that soon we may have an answer as to why we haven't been able to conceive for over 3 years.
-
 Megan. Just remember that most of the things they find in those blood tests there are treatments for. It may just mean you have an answer to the early losses and can get a treatment to make your embryos stick next time. I know it's a long wait, but keep yourself busy and Friday will be here before you know it. Thinking of you...
Of course, feel free to repeat those words to me next week when I'm stressing on how long I've got to go before my final blood test!
BW
-
Megan - you poor thing, having to wait until friday. lets hope its full of answers and gets you on track for getting preggers! my best wishes for you
BW - yay on transfer.... when is BT? rest up and i have every movable body part crossed for you!!!!!!!
Synarel is starting to give me small headaches, nothing that panadol doesnt fix though....
plus a few hot flushes during the day and waking up a bit sweaty during the night ewwww
but all for a good cause!
-
Thanks BW :) When I'm thinking rationally I think this is a good thing, and I'm going to get some answers. Unfortunately I am having more freak out moments than rational moments though!! I have 3 full days ahead of me, so I'm happy I've got a lot on or I think I would be going insane by the end of the week.
Oh...and yes, I will repeat those words back to you next week! ;)
-
Ugh! I do not envy you those synarel headaches, Sonya! Hopefully it will kick in soon and you'll be good to go. I think I just react badly to those drugs - the time I'm on synarel or lucrin is just miserable.
Megan, I'll do everything I can to push you back to the more rational ways of thinking just so long as you return the favour when needed!
If you don't mind, I'll sit on the exact blood test date just so that DH and I have time to absorb what ever the news may be in peace before I let the rest of the world know.
BW
-
hi ladies
just thought it about time i poked my nose in here again - i read all the time, but don't tend to be posting much! guess i don't feel i have a lot to say really!!
anyhoot - we had our embies thawed today for transfer tomorrow - one not looking as good as the other, but both survived, which is a start. transfer around lunch time tomorrow. fingers crossed it works so i don't have to have another stim cycle til we're ready for number two (or maybe number three if both take...)
-
Good luck for transfer tomorrow BG. You certainly have strong little embies there by the sound of it. :)
Sonya, those synarel headaches can be horrible. I think I managed to miss out on the night sweats though. But as you said...it's all for a good cause!
-
i never noticed synarel night sweats - but then, DH sleeps very hot, so i might have had them and then blamed DH for making me too hot and bothered!! hoping the mild headaches are the worst of it for you Sonya
Megan, hope the answers you get on Friday are the ones that help you get your BFP very soon. i can so understand the anxiety in knowing that you have results the doctor wants to discuss, and not being able to discuss them for almost a week!! we're here to help keep you sane-ish during the week while you wait!
-
I've got a rather TMI question this morning. I'm on pessaries at the moment, just one at night. Each morning when I pee I'm seeing lumps of white stuff floating on the top of the water before I flush. I don't appear to have lumps of white stuff being retained in my vagina... does this mean I'm not absorbing all the progesterone from the pessaries? I know they say that discharge of the carrier compound is normal, but this just seems too much.
Good luck today, BG.
BW
-
BW, i have never noticed any lumps or floaties - BUT - my clinic nurse said that a lot of it depends on which dispensary makes the pessaries, as to how your body responds. the ones i get are from the place she recommended from her patients saying they were the "gentlest" - they're just a waxy pellet and it all melts nicely. some though are more gritty like the crinone gel, and may come away like that
as always though, if you're concerned, call your clinic - they might just get you in for a p4 BT to check that your levels are ok...
-
Just a quick one from me this morning as I'm already late!
Just wanted to say a big hi to everyone...
Megan - I just want to second what BW said... they have treatments for pretty much anything that would have come up in the blood tests, so try to stay positive hun xxx ;)
(Easy for me to say, I know, when you have to wait until Friday... but YAY on finally having some answers - and then fixing them :))
Chez - I'll stay positive for you that you get an unexpected BFP this cycle, and you don't have to worry about any IVF afterall ;)
BW - I have had floaties (Ew, I know ;)) before... I remember my clinic nurse saying that there is always extra in the pessaries, so that even with stuff coming out, you are always absorbing what you need... like BG said though, definately call them if you're concerned xxx
Sonya - Hoping those Synarel headaches don't get too much for you - keep focused like you are.. it will all be worth it!!!!
BG - Very very best of luck today for your transfer... I hope that 2nd one catches up to its brother or sister ;)
Will post in your journal when I get home later to see how you went!
For anyone else I've missed, Hi!!!!
Its my birthday today, so I'm off for coffee with a few ladies before I start teaching this afternoon!!!
Hope everyone is wonderful and I'll pop back in later today :D
-
:happybirthday: Holly!
BW, yep I'm another who had 'floaties', and I've been told it's fairly common.
BG, good luck for trf today!
Megan, don't panic until you've seen the Dr, not easy I know but it's always worse in your imagination!
Hi everyone else. :)
-
:happybirthday: hollybolly!!!!!!!
BW - the floaties sound fairly normal, but better safe than sorry and maybe ask nurse about it..
BG - hellooooo! havent heard from you for a while. hope your doing ok and best best BEST wishes for transfer today!
No headaches today (yet!) and feeling quite motivated, my house may sparkle by the end of the day.
-
Happy Birthday Holly!!!
well, we're back, and we have two embies on board! woo hoo! both are developing nicely - one has gone from 3 cells to 5 overnight, the other from 6 cells to 8! so even our little struggler is for sure a fighter. the "runt" of the litter is on board now, with it's bigger sibling - and i have everything crossed they'll both be nice and sticky!
-
Happy birthday, Holly! Hope it's been a good one.
Thanks for the reassurance regarding my floaties... if it's normal, I'll just accept it, but I'll be ringing the clinic if it gets worse than what I had this morning!
Made it through work today, and I'm about ready to collapse now. I'm so tired... and I'm really obviously still feeling the effects of the anaesthetic and the trigger... Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
BW
-
Hi everyone
BG - WOOHOO! Congratulations on the transfer! Now you and BW are in the TWW together. Wishing the best of luck and sticky vibes
Sonya - the Synarel headaches are something that I definitely am not looking forward to but it is all worth it in the end isn't it. I had to laugh today when someone in my office was complaining about the flu vaccination and how they just hated needles. I so wanted to tell them to toughen up and try doing IVF and giving yourself injection every day, but I just couldn't. These things we put ourselves through definitely makes us stronger that's for sure!
Holly - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you enjoyed your coffee get together and have had a wonderful day! And thanks for keeping positive for me although I think AF is on it's way any day now.
BW - I can't help you with the pessaries - I have only used the crinone before and that's what NGF have sent me this time around as well. I am not looking forward to that crinone feeling ;). Rest up and take care of that little embie snuggling up inside you.
Megan - good luck with your FS appt on Friday. Hopefully armed with more information you will be able to keep moving forward, and try not to stresss - easier said than done isn't it? :goodluck2:
Nothing much to report on me today. Just very busy at work and being a little naughtie with my low carb/high protein/low GI eating plan which is all leaving me very tired. But it is so hard when we are getting temps below zero at night to not want some comfort food when I get home from work. Must be strong tho'. I tried to phone my FS today about the number of embies to be transferred at our next cycle and I couldn't get hold of her so I called the clinic and spoke to Bev. She has said she will talk to David about it and then he can talk to our FS about it. I am concerned that David will try to talk my FS around -we did mention it to her last year but there is a good chance that it isn't in our file and she has likely forgotten, so I think I will still try to call her again tomorrow. All of this going on and I am trying hard not to stress too much but I haven't even started my cycle yet! That happens when you have control freak tendencies I guess!
Anyway, am off to the shower and maybe talk DF into an early dinner. I'm starving!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLLY
hi to all and thinking of you ALL the time
GL to those in TWW xx
-
Hi Girls?. I?m back too. We had a double blasto transfer on Monday. I feel great and quietly confident this time. My thyroid level is great, I?ve lost 4 kg (4 of the 6 I?ve put on over the last year + doing IVF) and both blasto were A grade.
Reading the blog, it sounds like everyone is going along lovely. Sending you all lots and lots of bubwishes?.
xx:dance:
-
bubwishes _ it all sounds GREAT! fingers crossed for a +ve result
i had bt today and yippee! start puregon 150iu tomorrow with follow up tracking bt next thrusday 8 may
-
Just checking in :D
Sonya - YAY!!! on being able to start! :cheer:
BW and BG - Hoping all of those embies are snuggling in nice and tight ;)
Chez - Hoping things are going well with everything :)
Welcome back Bubwishes!!!
A big hi to everyone else - thanks so much for everyones birthday wishes yesterday - Had a nice day, coffee date in the morning, DH took me for lunch, and then DH, Luke & I went out for dinner!
DH & Luke went to the Estee Lauder counter and got the lady to find my customer card.. and then bought me a few things off it for my present :D Clever boys!!!
As for me TTC wise, my CD21 BT is Monday (despite what my ticker reads )... am definately making this one!
Sometime next week DH will have his extra sample done, and then we'll see Dr S from there! Yay... finally!!!
As far as my body goes, its CD 16 today, and with the amount of EWCM around, I'm going to need nappies soon! It seems my body is exaggerating everything at the moment - my tummy is so swollen I look like I'm pg... who knows whats going on!
Am hoping to get some AP in this week to settle everything down.
Hoping everyone is great :)
-
Happy Birthday for yesterday Holly. :) Good to hear you had a nice day... and things are starting to move along for you for your next cycle.
BW & BG and bubwishes, I hope you can all cruise through this TWW and come out at the other end still sane...and with a BFP of course! Will be thinking of you all and sending you plenty of positive thoughts. :)
Sonya, its great things are happening for you now. I always find that as soon as I start FSH injections, time flies and next thing I know its time for EPU.
Nothing new here. Still waiting for my appointment. I am determined to stay positive until I know what's going on. I think I just had to have my initial melt down after the phone call on Monday, and once I got that out of my system I was ok. So, really only one more day to go since my appointment is early on Friday.
-
injection no.1 done. i had it at 7am this morning and was a bit achy across my left side of tummy until about lunch. would i be feeling it so quick? or am i a bit extra sensitive to my body and reading into everything too much. but - the ache was def. there!
1 down, quite a few to go!
