Me - i have alsways put two in so will be doing two again on Tuesday, have af pains today already - must be the p4 kicking in - looks like im going to be in the TWW alone this time?
My levels at this stage first cycle were an incredible 283! :p That was after 5 days at 150IU. They then had me do 4 days at 300IU and I jumped up to 2834, and they started to worry then. 2 days later, both at 200IU and I'd hit 9200. Hopefully because the dosage was already dropping this time I'll be ok. I'm going to be extremely nervous waiting for the phone call tomorrow, though!
We've just been shopping - stocked up on gatorade already, plus yoghurt and other high-protein stuff... Guzzling water like it's going out of fashion. Discovered that some of my tighter clothing is already pretty uncomfortable. I can fit into them ok, but as soon as I eat - ouch! I hope I still fit into the outfit I bought for Thursday night when I get there!

as for me - i'm soooo tired - i think i'm just hitting a brick wall and soooo looking forward to the end to the week when we get some cooler weather and i start my leave. i believe i'm feeling the effects of the puregon already - have noticed every time i start taking it, i get a very upset tum for a couple of days til my body adjusts - not the nicest feeling for sure! and like BW - i'm more than a little concenerned about hyperstimulating, so just taking each day as it comes - and guzzling water big time!
The nurse did mention that the FS was interested in just how much change there is over night. I get the impression that they are watching closely, but not too concerned just yet. Being watched closely was something I really did want, but... I don't suppose they could have done it without me getting stressed! They are being brilliant with me this time - they aren't brushing off my questions and are answering as honestly and openly as they can. They tell me that I'll probably get a date for a scan tomorrow. And an earlier EPU is fine, just so long as it's NOT Thursday!
BG, hope the weather breaks for you guys soon. I'm not sure now what's heat, and what's just a hot flush for me. So looking forward to a bit of time off work with all of this! I might just take a later scan appointment and book the whole day off to catch up on some sleep and work...

weather is supposed to be nasty for a couple more days (35 or something icky) and then down to 20 or some ridiculously low temp on wednesday - why can't it just be nice and moderate?!? it's not toooo hot today - but super humid and just not pleasant!
ladies - just a quick question - i know BW wasn't feeling a lot for the first few days of stims (or mutual msn stress sessions are great sometimes!) - was wondering how soon others have felt their response to puregon? i believe i'm getting a "heavier" feeling in my ovaries after two days, and i KNOW my bb's are starting to hurt just enough to be annoying, but not enough to be counted as sore (if that makes sense?) - am i going insane? or have people actually felt the responses this quickly before?
Really quick one as I'm going out the door and down under the deep blue sea - BW, having asked DW I think her levels on stim were something crazy like 11000. They were "alert, but not alarmed", but as I said it was a bit of a battle but she pulled through OK. Doesn't have PCOS though...
BG - sorry i cant remember hun - maybe that is for a reason though lol
My last level was 14480, which I think was still 4 days out from EPU. A long way between here and there... but... I'm scared. I just had a complete meltdown at DH over something trivial and meaningless because I'm so scared.

aw hun - i'm sure DH is smart enough to realise that your meltdown was realistically unrelated to what you actually went off about - you've been to hell and back over the past 12 months of this journey - and he's been there with you - so he KNOWS how hard this is - even if he can't quite express it

Oh wow what a Sunday we are having in here, glad to see im not the only one pulling out my hair.
BW- Im sure DH understands, and i can defnately understand your fear and that out of control feeling. :Hug: When i had OHSS it was never even checked by blood tests i didn't find out until EPU as 10 follicles was enough to push my PCOS over the edge.
Definately hating the provera! Luckily for DH i am in syd all next week for a work conference so he can get some peace and quiet.
Oh Lou, did you have any boosters for the FET they may be making you nauseus?
anxiety is my best bet too, Lou.
I think DH is ok. I keep biting his head off, though. We're at rehearsal for church tonight - him on sound, me on overheads... and things aren't going that well! He did sneak off to the service station and got me a bottle of water and a sports drink... Little things to help me feel better. He knows I'm not myself even if he doesn't realise I'm terrified out of my scone!

you're in a damn tough situation too BW, cos it's not like you can really go and say "hey, i'm freaking out cos...." when you're as busy as you are!

Busy? hah! I'm ignoring the reports right now! Just can't cope with them as well. It's different when I'm at work, I can focus more. And it's air conditioned! Shoot me if I ever think of doing a stim cycle in summer again!

BW, you know I'm not going to BS you, and hope you're ok if I'm honest with you. At day 5 of stim, your levels of 3000iu is on the high end. 1000iu of E2 roughly = 1 egg at O , so for 10 eggs, they would want to see it coming up to 10000iu at trigger. If you're already at 3000iu, they are probably starting to worry about OHSS and so am I. Make sure you drink lots and here's hoping it's some really good few fast growing follies instead of a lot of little ones. :pray:
Thanks, Sushee. Honesty is what I need right now. They got worried when I jumped from 283 to 2834 in the first cycle - with only 4 days in between, but 9 days of stims all up. Getting up near 3000 after only 5 days of stims... it's hard to see it as anything other than bad after my experience with my first cycle. I guess we'll know more after tomorrow's test, but I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for another freeze all cycle already. Considering I'm only three weeks out from the end of the school year, and then there's 7-8 weeks before the start of term 1, I'm thinking that if my levels are a bit lower than last time I might just be inclined to push for a transfer anyway, depending on how I'm feeling. Not entirely sure, though. The thought of being as sick as I was for longer is a bit scary.
Just reminding myself that my first cycle still had me on 200IU for two days after I got to this point. I'm already on a lower dose than that now... :crossfingers:

Erm... not so good, Shannon. Today's levels were 5000, so an increase of 2000 over night. I have to go back in for a scan and blood test tomorrow morning (I'm so over 5am starts!), and we won't really know much until after that. Tonight's dose drops to 100IU of puregon, and there's talk of adding orgalutran to the mix, but I'm not really sure why...
Hope you and your provera enjoy Sydney. It's freaking hot and humid and revolting here!

BG - Hope you're feeling a little better - I've never been on the puregon, so I can't help you there - But have had similar feelings on the gonal f - Out of the 4 stim cycles, the first and third I felt really revolting, and the 2nd and 4th I felt really good.... Who knows????
Shannon - Hope you're doing ok with your new best friend (the dreaded provera)... Been there, and its just not nice :(
My body had every stupid side effect listed, I think - and I put on sooooo much weight - Not a friend at all.

Well me - Feeling pretty good as of late - I have started back on my chinese herbs & acupuncture after a break due to my unexplainable lumps on my legs (I know some of you prob have NO clue what I'm talking about - You don't want to hear the poor me story again though! :rolleyes:)
The herbs that my herbalist has put me on to get rid of them are working better than the steroids that the Dr prescribed... go figure(?!)
So, feeling ok... I'm calling Dr Sack's clinic tomorrow to book in and get some thoughts from him as to cycle #5... in the meantime, we're just "practising" naturally ;)
My body works so perfectly as far as days in the cycle, timing of ovulation and AF, EWCM, etc.... wish the uterus would give up its want to be an individual and just conform already! :rolleyes:
Hoping for some words of wisdom and a BIG light bulb to turn on when we see Dr S though!

Hi all just thought i would bump up this page!!!its been very quiet of late - i hope thats because we are all to busy getting pg.lol
Well had TF yesterday and although it didnt get off to th ebest start we have two blasties on board!!the best news of the day was that they only had to thaw two frosties to get to TF!i was so relieved as i have always believed that blasties didnt like to be thawed!!
I has a guy assisting the FS doing the TF and it thankfully was guided by ultrasound and he fumbled around for far to long when you have a full blader so the FS took over and finished the job. although all this did caused me to become quite flustered myself.
Came home and had a great afternoon - although writing the end of year reports and preparing for accredation is not what i call fun but at least im not running around looking after 10 mad kids at work. hoping im growing two beauties of my own. hehe
well BT is on 30th and looks like i may have to have my first scan in the uk if all goes well, i would love that as then my mum can come too. (we are very close and i miss here very much).
Holly - DH posted your parcel yesterday - he was a sweet all day. hope it arrives in one piece.
BW - hoping you get to EPU hun and you know how sucessful FET's can be so hold on to that hope.
BG - woohoo holidays hey wish i was on them now too, although i still have so many loose ends to tie befor i leave.

I've been quiet because I've taken my ranting and raving over to my journal. This stim cycle isn't going great, and I'm looking at another freeze all and a lovely case of OHSS for Christmas. Except my FS is keeping me hanging on whether transfer will happen and hasn't made a decision yet. I sooo want to kick him! Perhaps that's why he hides and lets the nurses deal with us while cycling, and usually gets one of the other doctors to do EPU.

I have a mild phone phobia, Sushee. I'm just going to sit it out and wait until tomorrow. There's one nurse who's been taking brilliant care of me, she's been doing the majority of my blood tests and my scans - I think she's realised just how messed up I am. She organised for me to have a couple of days off work now to rest, sleep and regather my strength. Unfortunately, she's not the one who's been doing the phone calls with results.
I'll wait until tomorrow, and get them to note that I really want answers to the transfer yes/no question and ask that they push him to get one!

I'm the exact opposite. My FS cringed everytime he saw a message from me, I'm sure of it.:
to be honest, i'd be asking for a definite answer one way or another BW - it's obviously taking it's toll on you emotionally not knowing the next step - you need to reduce your stress as much as possible, and from everything i know of you, the only thing that will do that is definite knowledge of your FS' plans for you - black and white, none of this grey BS the nurses are feeding you at the moment...

I really agree and i do believe that this journey that we are going on - shapes us as parents when we do have success!! I hold my two miracles so close to me and don't let them out of my site - ever!!!

so disappointed but nothing i can do except pray for a damm natural miracle, but after 7 years of no contraception and DTD every month when i o'ed - i reckon i have more chance winning Tattslotto!!

My levels are already higher than they ever were last time, and don't appear to be in any hurry to slow down at all. I'm looking at another case of OHSS, another freeze all cycle... Having been there before, I'm even more scared.
No puregon tonight, just lucrin and orgalutran, and another blood test tomorrow. That will make my 6th consecutive one.
I'm really starting to think I'm going to have to investigate this IVM thing more thoroughly...

i'm kinda cruisin for now - had bt today and u.s tomorrow - am stressing out a little bit. can feel that something is happening with my ovaries, but no idea what - and my u.s is done just at a normal imaging place, not the ivf clinic, so i won't get results til the fs looks at the report later tomorrow night. i'm starting to feel more than a little anxious cos tomorrow feels like make or break day - and i don't KNOW what the outcome is going to be - for a control freak to be in the dark is the cruelest of cruel situations!
i've spent many an hour lately talking to BW about the if's, but's and maybe's of what is happening with boh of our cycles. i am feeling helpless in that i can't help her any more than what i am. and i'm feeling extremely guilty that, at this stage, my cycle seems to be on target when hers is going so erratically - and i'm starting to feel fear of what might happen for both of us - why can't this just be easy???
hopefully by this time tomorrow night i'll have some answers and know when i'll trigger and go to epu - god i hope so. we seriously need some semi-good news in here at the moment...

what keeps me sane during IVF is to remember that IVF is like a role of the dice!
You just don't know how the dice will fall and you have no control over the numbers that will come up!
Its hard not to take it as a personal failure, but it isn't - its just the way the dice falls!
BW hope all works out for you tommorow- even if it is a bust for tranfer this cycle- at least you will have some frozen emby's for next cycle!!! Better than going through everything for nothing. Maybe that is just how you have to do it- stim one cycle- and then tranfer the next cycle!!
Whatever way it has to be- as long as it works!!!
Good luck tommorow BG- its great that you can feel that there is something going on down there!

BW - Hun, I am so sorry about the OHSS... A little worried for you in terms of the levels being worse than last time - And a little cranky at your FS for not being able to do more about it ;)
I am by no means an expert, but I find it a little bit of a mystery that he didn't prepare a little better expecting it to happen... But like Odette perfectly put it - IVF truly is just like a roll of the dice, its just frustrating not being in control.
I really hope you're doing ok - More so physically at the moment...(Sounds like you have BG in control of your mental status!)... And praying they have you under control to avoid hospital - A look on the optimistic side - It may just be timed well enough that you simply just cannot do Christmas with the family this year....;) - Of course you know I'm only kidding - Hoping that they sort things out for you soon xxx

Its frustrating when our DH's want to have a little rest for terms of $$$ - We've just done that, its been exactly 12 months since our last cycle - and I'm about to start ripping hair out!

Well me - Feeling great back on all of the herbs again - You do really notice the difference!
Rang Dr Sacks office this morning and made my first appointment with him - Thursday 13th December... Very excited to be moving ahead again!!!
Am interested to hear what his take will be on everything, and what he will do differently... cycle #5 has to have something different, I just know it!!
So, we speak to him and go from there!
Will also get his advice as to whether we should do a cycle before we go away or wait till we get back - We don't leave until 18th Feb, but I don't want to do a cycle before the wedding which is Jan 6th (too much stress!)... so we'll see what time brings us!

Holly, I'm doing ok now. Physically I'm much LESS uncomfortable than the first time, still scared to death by the numbers, though! I've cried on three different nurses at the clinic, and now on my third day off work, and I've finally reached acceptance. I guess it's the fact that they didn't send any more orgalutran home with me so they are expecting to trigger soon!
Whatever happens from here, happens. I know I've got through it before when I was being stubborn and pig-headed and refusing to go to hospital, and I'm under very strict instructions from the clinic to not do it again this time. We've got the plans set in place and know which hospital to go to where they will know how to deal with OHSS!
The problem with PCOS, the absolutely, revoltingly sucky part of it (the words used on msn and in sms messages with BG are MUCH stronger!) is that not only are we gambling on the IVF side of things, we're also gambling on the unpredictable nature of PCOS and our response to fertility drugs. One cycle you can be on a high dose and be fine, next cycle you can be on a lower dose and hyperstimulate badly. The line between "not enough stimulation" and "too much stimulation" is very narrow and constantly moving.
I suspect this OHSS thing is something I'm going to face with every stim cycle. It will be sheer luck if we ever have to do another and actually manage to avoid it next time! If this is what it takes to have a baby, then that's what I'll do. Yes, I'll freak out along the way, but I will get there. Some doctors may argue for cancelling and trying again, but as we've seen, there's no guarantee that it won't happen again next time, and the one after that, and the one after that... I'm choosing to stick with forward progress, even if it is a little slow and not the conventional path. I've always seemed to like to do things a little differently than most!
And a little message for BG when she gets home, I'm sure her explanation will follow soon enough (I've just got to get the words out before they run away!)... I do listen to you! And you know how frustrating it is to have your own words sent back to you, and I've collected quite a few over the last week, so I'm well armed! I will do my best to make you laugh, or at least smile. :p Everything you've done for me over the last week I'm only too happy to repay. At least until the poo hits the fan here and I land in hospital! Even then, I may not be here to talk to you, but I'll still be thinking of you and praying for you big time. :hug:, :hug: and more :hugs: Now, how's about we get off the seesaw for a while? And another couple of :hug: just for good measure!

I'm going to collection on Sunday. I don't know anything else yet, just that it's Sunday. I only know that much because the hospital rang me to arrange payment because they don't have admin staff there on a Sunday. I haven't heard from the clinic yet, they said they'd call around three, I'll wait.
I'm relieved - I don't think I could have taken another whole day of worrying!
I also have the satisfaction of knowing I've messed up my FS's weekend somewhat!
Now... to madly rush through my reports and get them finished before hand!

now, the news - and the reason i was stressing:
right ovary - 28 follies, 1 at 15mm, 1 at 14mm, 10 between 10 and 13mm
left ovary - 31 follies, 1 at 15mm, 10 between 10 and 13mm
stress levels were shocking - i've seen what BW is going through, had no E2 levels to run a comparison to... very scared little vegemite - and the prospect of waiting til after 6 to hear from the clinic...
thankfully, it only took about 4 hours for them to get back to me! E2 levels are only 2629! woo hoo - EPU is slated for Tuesday - trigger on sunday night (at 11.30pm) woo hoo!!
sorry for the self involved post, but have been hammered by visitors since i got home, and really want to get this out there - and then into my journal!

me - well no symptoms at all no sore BB nothing - have no idea how things will tirn out but then again have always been wrong with every other cycle so just going with the ride at the mo - dont think i will be testing as BT is only 10 days after TF so that wait i can deal with, DYK i havent even been tempted !!!WTF not like me at all im the POAS queen (after Sushee.lol) still im not even feeling like im in the TWW!!!
will keep you all posted for any *signs* and give me a big slap if i even think about POAS lol it never gets me anywhere
