Hi everyone,
Sue – Hi! Loving that ticker – what is Turkish for “take me with youâ€!! heheee.
Tam – You’re amazing petal. I hope your appointment goes well with the PGD specialists. Whoah, I didn’t realize it was that expensive. But you’re right – its money well spent if you take into account that it might save you cycles later. Plus the peace of mind is well worth it. Take care pet. You’re often in my thoughts.
Shazey – good luck with your move – sounds like a fantastic fresh start.
Marg – how did the op go?
Leis – hope you’re recovering well. Is the catheter out yet?
Vicki, Sheree, Bec Trish, Chele - Hi – hope you’re doing well.
Nola – were you given the okay to start jabbing?
Mel, I’m exactly the same – My brain decides to go for a walk when I’m at the clinic. My Dr thinks I’m a control freak when I take in a list of questions but it’s the only way I remember what I wanted to ask. Plus my Dr has a fairly heavy accent and is hard to understand sometimes. Rest assured Mel, you’re not the only one!!
It seems to be an unwritten rule to not say anything to anyone while waiting at the clinic. My Dr’s rooms are near to what I think is an ultrasound clinic (never investigated properly) so it can be confronting at times seeing bellies everywhere. I must admit I got upset at seeing a lady breastfeeding in front of DH & I whilst waiting to go see the specialist about why our last attempt failed. I have yet to develop my thick skin (need thin skin for jabbing…).
Janee – am pretty sure I was “made†by someone at my work while at the clinic once, but nothing was ever said. So there are rumours going around behind my back or she’s more discrete than what I give her credit for.
Sushee – I have a follie that they’re happy to watch grow for a few more days. And Dr seems happy with the lining so far. Another scan next week. I didn’t make a list of questions for this appointment so forgot all the questions I was going to ask like assisted hatching, P4 support. Will have them ready to roll by next scan!! Hope you’re doing well and resting up!
Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend
Love,
H

Hi Blue
Nope that cathetor is still in... I have a cystogram next Tuesday at my work radiology, (no fee \:D/ ) where they put some dye into the cathetor to see if the bladder wall is looking ok thickness wise, where they cut into it and stitched it up...
I will let you all in on a little funny that happened with the cathetor.. well maybe i am a bit to weird and warped, but i think it is funny so did DH and my mum....
We were at Newcatle airport in the carpark dropping mum back for her flight up to the Goldie, when i suddenly realised that my leg bag was getting kinda fat, so i thought 'mmm better empty that' that i just did on DH's wheel of his car, just like a dog!!!! My mum was in hysterics, DH just shook his head and said 'That's why i married you, for your fantastic sense of humour'....I was laughing so loudly people were looking but i had no chance of peeing myself from laughter due to the cathetor... :D
Also Blue and Mel, I used to tend to loose my brain a bit when going for appointments, I remember one time (at band camp) DH and I were in a cafe having a cuppa before appointment, and i left my mobile phone behind...then another time i left temp charts behind and got to the appointment without them, then i also misplaced my sunglasses, left them on the Dr's desk... Now though I seem to have it together a bit more, and just roll with the punches... A more relaxed approach, I don't know how I came about that approach but it just appeared within me and has stayed....
:smt039 to everyone else and i hope you are all travelling well...
Love and hugs
Leis xxx

Leis, you are great. Don't think I could've thought of that one myself. Big lol. I often say we have to laugh, or we'd cry. Good on ya for getting the freebie, work's gotta be good for something!
Heather, glad the cycle is getting there. I often think I should do lists but don't.
Hope everyone is enjoying your day, another hottie for us. Sue, what's the weather is Greece, have you starting watching?
Take care
-
You're right about it being a hot one today in Perth Tam......we're all hiding out inside. I can't stand it when it's this hot
You made me laugh Leis! I think a sense of humour is the only thing that keeps me going some days.
Blue Sky, I'm sure I'll see someone familiar at the clinic one of these days..unless of couse, I have a reason to stop going! Let's hope and pray.
Daisy, glad you liked the cheesecake. I have to say, I've been cooking up culinary delights for weeks now. I think the stress comes out by coiking for me. I just hope it doesn't all end up on my hips. The only rounded thing I want is a tummy!
To everyone else, take care. Yay for a Public holiday for us here tomorrow.....yippee

Hi Girls, Well the Bt went well Friday and Yes i commenced the Injections last night, mind you i was as nervous as the very first time i commenced them the one two three, then the big hesitation. well I finally managed to get the jab in and all over. Now the joy of having to do it again all over this evening. I suppose looking at the end result It will be well worth all the jabbing. Hi, haven't had a chance to catch up on personals yet so hope everyone's doing well. :flower:
Had my hysteroscopy on Thu in Ballarat, got home late Fri and I'll I've done since then is sleep - can't beleive how tired I've been! Thankfully all went well and the gynea found no major problems. The existing fibroids are out of the way, there are no new ones at this stage and he found no adhesions from my previous surgery. So it's all go ahead for another round of IVF.
Only catch is that the timings work out that I'll be due to have my injections/procedure over Easter - and I've planned to go away! Typical of my luck! LOL! They did say they could keep me on the pill for an extra week or so to push my dates after Easter - or I just skip this month and start next month. After all the waiting so far this year I really want to get started to so will have to wait and see what happens. Things are never simple!
Marg
-
Glad to see it all went well Marg.... all the best for your IVF and i am sure you will get what you are after...
I had my anaesthetic on the 23rd Feb and i am still really tired from it... I was under for 2 hours and 35 mins... yuk.... i think my body thinks it was 25 hours under...
love leis xx

Keen,
it is so good to hear from you again. I too have been MIA, needed a break from BB for a while, just to get my head around things, and to see where we were heading.
Any way it is good to see you back, and good luck with your up and coming FET.
All you ladies out there, I hope you (and I) are all getting closer to that big, huge humungus BFP.
O:)
-
Good morning to you all
Nola, yah for starting up again. When I start IVF it means I haven't injected for 9 months, it'll feel like doing it for the first time again.
Keen, welcome back to you. But yes, hope it's only a short stay. I did enjoy my short stay on the 'other side'. It was nice to just say that I'd been there. Hope your cycle goes well, what kind is it?
Chele, ooo exciting with transfer finally coming up soon.
Sue, enjoy the language study, and I've heard Dubai is really, really good for shopping. Keep the countdown coming.
Leis, yah for bag freedom. I just keep thinking of your story & giggling away to myself.
Marg, take your time getting going again, I'm not that flash after GA either, mind you when I was talking to my friend about them the other day, I was saying I have never had a 'basic' lap anyway. Bummer on the timing thing, enjoy easter before being pg??
Trish, I'm sure we would like to fill the PALTTTC forum. It is quite strange how it does seem to happen in waves.
Bee, hope your cycle is going well
Heather, are you posing your questions for the DR, and remembering them, lol
Vicki, I hope you are taking care of yourself
whew, I think we do need a clean out, it takes a mega post to get to everyone, lol. Take care, I'm enjoying a public holiday (isn't it great Janee) & great weather again. I can watch DD do swimming lessons (DH usually goes).
-
Leis - so glad to hear the bag is almost gone! Hope you're well and truly on the road to recovery and getting closer to your goal every day. xo
Tam - just wanted to say that you are so inspirational - you really help keep me going and staying positive. xo
SuziQ - I think I'M getting excited watching your holiday count down! LOL!
Ann, Keen, Chele, Trish, Heather, Bee, Vicki, Nola, Janee, Shazey, Mel, Sushee - a big hello & hug and hope you are all doing well. :flower:
As for GA, it just doesn't agree with me at all! When I had my fibroids removed the surgery went for 4 hours and I felt like it took 6 months to start feeling 'normal' again - not to mention how sick I felt straight afterwards! And even though the hysteroscopy was fairly quick it's still taken me a few days to feel like it's out of my system.
I am starting to think of my holiday over Easter as a chance to have some fun before getting back on the IVF rollercoaster! Then I'll have some good memories to think about if I'm hopefully throwing up from morning sickness (I wish!!!) LOL! I'm only off to Sydney but haven't been there in a while so it will be fun to catch up with friends and play tourist for a few days.
Marg
-
Well ladies i am off for the cystogram in about an hour up at my work... then once that is done, i will drop the wonder dog off to the kennels and head on down to sydney for my appointment with Dr Cooper tomorrow. I have a huge amounts of questions writtern down for him... then hopefully the bag will be out tomorrw..
I was so p*ssed off last night i woke at about 1 am and thought 'Godness me i am sweating heaps on my leg" turned the light on and the stupid bloomin' bag had come away from the tubing and there was pee all through the bed.... Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh i was so angry and the bag was hurting me, i think the balloon in the cathetor is starting to deflate of its saline and is sitting funny on the neck of my bladder... anyway the pee had gone through the sheet and mattress protector onto the mattress.... oh was so annoyed we have only had the bed new for about 6 months and it wasn't a cheap one either..... I hope there is a company that cleans pee from mattresses out there....
hi to everyone
love leis xx
-
Goodluck Leis for today - hope you lose your awful accessory - not nice it is hurting you now.
The pee on wheel story was funny - you have kept your humour through this.
:fuming: at the pee bag and the pee in your bed. We had a visitor boy (9) who WTB was supposed to put his nighttime (pullup) pants ;) on - but didn't and his mum (my friend a nurse) neglected to tell me they were in his bag or he still WTB. Or to still put draw sheet - he overflowed.
I found DS bed (bottom bunk) innerspring mattress the next day - soaked & awful smell/covered with wet blankets/sheets - but we sponged the top and dried it out thoroughly in sun for a few days and there was no residual odour .
The next night I reminded him a dozen times poor kid - to take his back pack into bathroom get changed - even after his shower. He was like pretending nothing happened and we were trying to be discrete in front of DS.
An upholstery cleaning company /carpet might help you out - as you know urine is 97% water.
I hope it all goes well for you :crossfingers:
Marg- hope your recovery is swift - GA do knock you around for afew days.Hope it is good news for you. Enjoy Sydney !
-
Hi Ladies,
Marg - hope you enjoy your upcoming holiday. I know what you mean about GA ... I've only had it that once but it seemed to take a while to get rid of the residual tiredness. Hope you are feeling up to speed soon.
Leisa - dang, that's annoying. Trish has a good idea though with the cleaning company. I hope the appointment goes well for you.
Hope everyone is chugging along nicely. We're keeping those seats warm for you.
Love,
Mel

Good evening girls!
Keen – Good to see you again – I too have my fingers crossed it will be a short stay! Sending you truckloads of luck petal!
Leis – eeek! The perils of catheters! Hope your cystogram went well and that your appointment tomorrow goes well too. What kind of pooch is wonder dog?
Marg – Glad your op went well. Hope the timing for you starting IVF works out for you and that you get to kick up your heels over Easter in sin city.
Tam – I know what you mean about the injections – sadly it will all come back to you after the first couple of jabs. No – I blanked out on the questions for the doctor again. But he kinda answered some questions I had without him having to ask. Bonus! I agree about the clean out too! Need to take to this forum with a big pg broom!
Ann – Hi, how are you?
Chele – How are the BTs going? Have you got a date for transfer as yet?
Nola – hope the jabbing is going well.
Sue – I found a great translator on line once, will see if I can find it again! I love seeing your ticker counting down.
Hi to everyone else I may have forgotten.
Take care,
-
Keen it is so lovely to see you back & with such good news & a great outlook. Here's hoping that everything works out for you (& that you can clear the decks in here a bit with you)

Good morning all you lovely ladies!!
Just a quick post today..
Leis- you always make me smile! I hope all goes well today and you are finally free of the bag
Nola, Keen, Chele, Marg- Sending you all much babydust and hoping you get that BFP you all deserve.
Tam- Totally lost where you are up to? Hope you are keeping well.
And everyone I have not mentioned hope you are all doing well.
I have been so busy of late. I think that is why I have ended up with a huge headache. It is boarderline migraine at the moment. Just wont go at all. Then this morning I have woken up with the beginnings of a cold.! Cant win! So forgive me if I go MIA over the next week. Thinking of you all and hoping that all is going well.
-
OOOOoohhh Sue - Dubai & Greece....very nice! I bet you will have an absolute ball!
Thanks everyone for your warm welcome back! (Even though I wish I had come back to an empty thread! IYKWIM)
Ann - Great news that you are back in BB land too. Whats happening with you at the moment?
Marg - Its amazing how much a general can really knock you around isnt it? Everytime Ive had one (and thats been a lot!) I always take like a week to recover. Glad to hear all was clear and ready to go again.
Leis - Bet the lemon tree will be happy soon, too then :smt016
Tam - that probably would seem like your very first time after 9 months, I bet!
H - Hey sweetheart, how are things going for you? I have so much to catch up on... Are you in the midst of a stim cycle?
Nola - Great news on you being back on the ride again... everything crossed for you matey :crossfingers:
Chele - wishing you all the best for this transfer sweetie. :bluestick:
Im sure I have missed many people... still got to get back in the hang of doing personals again.... Have my appt with RE on Monday so should have some dates soon. Yaye!
-
](*,) Well guess what ladies after having another BT on Monday and another scan today NOTHING has changed. Still haven't ovulated and it don't look like am about to anytime soon. Not good. They didn't even bother with a BT today no point but they saw a 9mm fibroid today not sure what that is or means but hey said it was very tiny and it was on the outside so who knows. They are going to discuss with Dr either they give me some help now to get me to ovulate for transfer or/and we wait until I ovulate and then have some assistance after transfer. Well HELLOOOO haven't I asked for that the last 2 transfers and have been told no your levels are fab you don't need it. Well levels this month have gone belly up back to before fresh cycle end of 2004 so :fuming: Find out more this arvo so shall see hey. Going away this long weekend so knowing my body everything will be trucked for that. What a great Wedding Anniversary Present today.
Why is this happening this month of all months is March gonna be crap forever even with Anniversary and Birthday next week then ~Angel's~ Anniversary I think I shall just have 11 months in every year and skip MArch from now on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Have to take 50mg of Clomid for 5 days and then another BT on Tues
Clomid never worked for me before even taking 2 tablets so we shall see
-
Chele
I knew your angel's 1st birthday/anniversary was coming up - awful when our bodies disappoint us by not playing by the rules -
Hope Clomid does the trick for you - have a nice weekend away !
-
Chele, sorry to hear things still arent coming along for you - how frustrating for you! Here's hoping the clomid does the trick and stops the March curse in its tracks.
-
Chele, bugger, bugger, bugger. I hope the Clomid does something for you this time & gets things moving.
BT today shows everything back to normal for me. So it's a PGD meeting next week, then a CD 21 tests the week after, then maybe starting the week after that. It actually seems close to me this time. I think I'm hoping to get some answers from the PGD. I just hope I don't expect too much & get disappointed.
Take care
-
Chele sorry to hear that your body is being a bugger of a thing... stay strong sweetie and I am thinking of you... Keep us updated....
Ooooops I post this under IVF Barbie, was to busy laughing about it, so I will post it here also
Well girls....the appointment went well, although I have made the decision to have the bowel resection. I just want all of this endo out of my body....I think i go in on the 27th May... I could of gone in in april but i need time to recover from the previous op in late feb. Dr Cooper is quietly confident that we will get the end result, but they still don't say a great deal, i guess endo is such an unknown thing...
Dr Cooper will be head surgeon again, with colo rectal surgeon Dr Matt Morgan... plus the assistant .... so another HUGE bloomin medical expense, but each day I am soooo grateful that DH and I are in a good financial position to be able to afford the best...
I got my period today and it just snuck up.. no pain... i think with the herbs and the majority of endo removed... it has just made a huge difference i feel so good within myself too.
I think i need to go back to the energetic healer... i think my visit with her would be so very different this time around...
I hope everyone is ok.. take care ...
Oh yes Carlos is a very naughty little Foxie X....
love and hugs
leis xx
Oh yeah the cathetor is gone.... :smt022 no more fun..... my bladder is being naughty and it hurts once i have emptied it.. bladder spasms... ouch... but hey nothing like endo pain...
-
Leis
goodluck for the bowel resection - I can't imagine what you have been thru with endo pain and op .You are a champion woman.
A painless AF must be a pleasant surprise  for a change if she has to come at all. It sounds like those herbs are magic.
Don't forget to keep track all your receipts - you can claim 20% back on tax- after $1500 OOP as offset - it all counts
Medicare will send you a tax statement (after July) for total of amount spent / their refund -including IVF and you can also write for a full itemised list. Your health fund should send a statement too.
It think it is bugger the medicare threshold doesn't include inpatient hospital services.
Glad your catheter has left the planet.
-
Leis - good luck with it all sweetie. Hope the pain ends for you very very soon (hopefully due to a big belly full of baby).
Trish - I didnt know Medicare were supposed to send a tax statement - cant say that I have ever received one..... interesting.
-
Hi everyone, hope all are doing OK.
Leis, you are one incredibly brave and determined woman. Good luck with everything!
Tam, hope the PGD metting goes well next week...what happens?
KeenAs, I think I remember you posting elsewhere...I too am still hanging around, so let's hope we're outta here soon.
Sue, your holiday sounds fabulous....can you fit a small person in your suitcase?!
Hello to everyone else...hope you're all OK.
Me, back to the docs next week...to talk IVF. But first, going to naturopath tomorrow. Have been using Footsies patches the last few days (detox patches), and they seem to be helping with my energy levels etc....have to confess I've been a bit naughty lately, after last week's disappointing BFN again....drinking coffee, alcohol...but I think I needed to be a bit silly for a few days before getting back on track again....
Well hope you're all having a good day. Take care xxx
-
:poketongue: I say phooey to 'doing the right thing' all the time when ttc. Do whatever it takes to make you feel better Janee (within reason).
Sorry, no room in the bag - travelling light this time and of course I need room for all my purchases....
Sue
165 more sleeps til up up and awa-a-ay
-
Sue, yes I think phooey too! can't be boringly perfect all of the time. Shall be interesting to see what becomes off limits after visiting the naturopath. :-k
It must be wonderful to have a count down till your holiday. DH, who NEVER takes holidays, actually promised me he would take a whole month off in January 07 if our baby dreams don't some true....and a holiday to somewhere exotic too! Doesn't make the wish for another child less, but certainly gives me something to think about if this year doesn't pan out as we would hope.
Jane xx
-
Janee, I hope that you will have your hands well and truly full with bub by then or be well on the way with a big fat tum! Having said that, there's nothing wrong with having a plan B either, try not to let your whole world/relationship revolve around ttc. I know that's easier said than done though!
Blue.....where are you? Studying??? Hmmmm, how's your cycle going...you must only be a whisper away from your transfer by now.
Tam - when is your PGD appointment? I could page back but a tad lazy at this time of the day.
Bee - what's happening with you girl?
Keen - good to see you getting back into the swing of things...IYKWIM. I'm having a couple of weeks in Turkey too. Someone made a really bad joke at work yesterday (so don't blame me if you  "Are you going to Dubai dubai stuff?" Sorry girls.
Leis - you're a little trooper. You've been on a long road with all your ops but you'll get there and yes, endo is still very much an unknown!! Sinister is a pretty good word for it I reckon.
I know I've missed a few of you but am wishing you all well.:smt039
Sue
-
Keen - you need to go to medicare website and order one online - I did for 2005 Financial year the other day - think you can only do current (past) tax year.
But you have to write personally to get itemised statement.
Sue sounds like you will have a wonderful time. I am not so brave to venture overseas - Tasssie is furtherest I've been off mainland.
Ladies - we have 4 ladies leaving PALTTTC in next 4 weeks or so - [-o< for all you sniffing and stimming - [-o< successful cycles so you can join us - it will be lonely without any new graduates.
-
Hi to everyone, you can tell when I'm working because I only post at night!
Janee, our plan is for a holiday this year too, with or without a belly. O/s if not pg, Aussie if pg. About June/July.
Good luck on your IVF appt. And I also kinda go all out a bit while I'm not TTC. Sometimes it all just feels too limiting.
Heather & Bee, am desperately wanting to know how you are going.Hope it is all going good anyway.
Leis, thinking of you heaps with your ops, even though I have endo also I've never really had a lot of trouble with it (manageable anyway).
Sue, my PGD appt is on Tuesday, I want to make sure there are not any other tests we should do before trying it also. I watched a shopping Getaway once about shopping in Dubai & it looked great, make sure you BB on the internet cafes once in a while, send us virtual postcards!!
Trish, would love to stay in the pg forum & keep you company.
Keen, wait, wait for your appt. I think it's a TTCer's No1 past time.
Nola, how's your sniffing, Yuck, I remember the taste?
Vicki, hope you are taking care of yourself, what are you up to next.
Phew, nothing to report hear, I want to hear good news from you guys, take care, yah for Friday tomorrow & the weekend. Time is going fast.
-
Hi girls just popping my head in to say  and wish everyone :luck: I start the big sniff in the morning!! Will do personals when I catch up more....
-
Vicki – Hope your headaches have gone and that it didn’t develop into the flu. Sending you lots of “get well†vibes!
Hi Keen – I’m in the middle of, for want of a better term, a stim FET. Am taking Groanal-F to O then will be having a transfer. Are you also doing a FET? Good luck for your appointment on Monday!
Chele – I can understand your frustration at not Oing. Hope you were able to have an enjoyable wedding anniversary despite everything.
Tam – good luck with the PGD appt! Hope you are able to get some answers.
Leis – eek to the bowel resection. As the other girls have said, you’re such a trouper! Hoping that the light at the end of the tunnel is becoming brighter for you! Carlos sounds like a cute dog! And, sorry to be a dumb ass, but what is an ‘energetic healer’? hehehe is it a RE that runs marathons? Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Trish – I think if the medicare threshold were to cover inpatient services then people wouldn’t take out pte health insurance  . My accountant told me that the tax rebate includes items that you buy at the chemist – and therefore evin if I buy headache tablets I should get them at the chemist and hold onto the receipt. Also covers things like glasses, some aids eg I know someone who can claim her lymphodema stockings. I think you can only claim the portion after you have claimed from medicare and/or your private health. Worth looking into girls.
And thanks for not adding any pressure… 8-[ LOL
Janee – Will this be your first foray into IVF? Hope your appointment goes well. Footsies patches? Do you wear those on your footsies? Sorry, full of questions for you today! Don’t worry about going off track – everyone deserves some indulgences every now and then!
Hi Sue – I agree, we want some cyber post cards!! Hehehe. Hopefully I’ll find out today what’s going on with transfer. I should be studying now but what the heck!
Nola, Bec, Bee & Ann – how are you traveling? Hope all is well.
Shez – Good luck with the sniffing!
I hope I haven’t missed anyone. Hi to you if I have.
Hope you have a great (long! \:D/ Yay!! \:D/ ) weekend girls. Looks like it will be great weather!
Cheers
-
Hi all, yey for Friday! Off to the naturopath today, so will let you know later how that goes...
Blue Sky.... the patches are actually called "Footsies" and yes you put them on your footsies! They are based on reflexology ideas, and are imported from Japan. I've used them for a few days now and I think they might actually be working. I feel less tired and fresher in the mornings. We shall see.
Yes it will be my first for IVF....and I have to say, probably last if it doesn't work. Financially and emotionally I'm not as strong as most of you. I need to try this and if no luck then I am resigned to letting the dream go. We have a beautifaul DS and perhaps he is our miracle child....My focus is to succeed first go, or succeed in being the best mum I can possibly be to my one and only! either way, I figure I'll be a winner...
Have a great day everyone!
xx
