    Miscarriage & Clexane

6 stim cycles (success on #5) and 2 FET resulting in early miscarriage my FS now suggest doing another FET but with clexane this time. Just wondering has anyone had and heard of any results using clexane.

I am debating either doing another FET with clexane or doing another stim cycle as i am 39 and was thinking of doing another cycle with low dose meds (which worked with my son) instead of using my frozens because they are from a stim cycle with many eggs which so far my FET has only resulted in miscarriage and previous other 4 stim cycle resulted in many eggs and no success.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I have been trying to conceive now what feels like forever. I have had 10 months of IUI, 4 stim cycles and 10 FET. During that time i fell pregnant twice. The first time was my first or second FET however i miscarried at 12 weeks After numerous transfers later a few more tests were done and it was discovered that i had cardio lipin antibodies which end result makes my blood thick. This makes my uterus less than ideal for the embryo to implant. I was started on clexane and the next FET i fell pregnat.......two plus years after my first pregnacy......again it did result in a miscarriage however the fact that I hadnt fallen pregnant in so long and then did on my first try with clexane was positive for me. With this pregancy my numbers were only rising very slowly so was not going to be viable from day one, where my first pregancy resulted in a clot in the placenta (hence the thick blood)

I am on clexane again and had another FET done on the 8th so fingers crossed. Overall the clexane has given me a bit of hope.

Hope this gives you another perspective

    Hi Wildjo,
After a several failed transfers, I was diagnosed with anitphospolipid syndrome that required me to start heparin and aspirin ransfer. We go our BFP from that FET transfer. The Dr I went to once diagnosed with APLS suggested that for women with multipule misscarriage, aspirin and clexane/heparin can increase the chances of carrying to term by a fair bit - but the medical profession dont necessarily know why. In my case it also helps getting the embies to stick in the first place!

I cant say that sticking yourself with the needle daily (or twice a day if using heparin) is a great experience, and the bikini wont get a work out for a while (due to the bruises) but hey, if it helps...

    Wishing you all the best.

Hi there.... I have no idea when it comes to IVF but a friend of mine had 4 early miscarriages (all naturally conceived) and when tested had high levels of NK (natural killer) cells. She was on clexane during the first 10-12 weeks and is now somewhere around week 25-26 in this pg, never having got past 7 weeks before. I guess maybe you could ask your doc why he is suggesting it, what his thought process is? GL

Just wanted to say, I am on clexane for the first time this IVF/ICSI cycle ...started on the day of ET (which was on sunday)...my reasons are similar to Farmgirls (although we have had different experiences, as my embryos have implanted in the past, but havent been able to keep growing). Here's hoping it makes a difference and can help you too

    Hi
I think you should give the clexane and meds ago. Whether it be for fresh or frozen cycle. I miscarried on my 5th fresh cycle and they thought was due to clots, from then on started on Clexane, aspirin, folate 5mg, vit b6 and b12 - all stop blood clotting. In my 9th cycle got pg - stayed on meds for 30 weeks and now have a healthy 3 year old. When we went back took the meds from transfer with our first cycle and got lucky again - now 16 weeks pg with twins. Give it a go - you have nothing to lose. xx
