Pregnyl questions please..

Hi,

I am doing 3 Pregnyl needles for the first time. I usually do the pessaries after transfer, but now they have changed the protocol to 2x a day..I thought this might be easier for me.

So my questions: OMG - do they hurt everyone like they did me. Even when injecting the sting was amazing. Now 2 days later, the site is still red and so so sore to touch. I am DREADING the next 2 needles.
Also - I believe they can cause false positives on HPT's...is this correct? I am a chronic tester from day 10 - what can I say, I'm addicted. Please tell me this isn't so...or if it is...how many days after final needle are u pretty safe to test?

Pregnyl is a HcG injection so yes they will definitely cause false positives. From what I understand it takes around 10 days for it to be out of your system, so 10 days after your last injection I think you'd be ok.

oh man - that's really going to hurt an obsessive HPTer like myself.
10days later????? well my blood test will be long done by then..

Well that's what everyone told me, but I only had Pregnyl for my trigger shot & not for luteal support, I had the icky progesterone gel. Good luuuuck

the pregnyl booster shots are generally about 1500 where the trigger is 5000 to 10000 - so it doesn't take as long to leave your system - rule of thumb from what i recall is about 4 days from the second booster it should be out of your system

if you're a compulsive POASer - you could always test each day following booster til you get a negative so you know it's out of your system, then start your testing for BFP after that!

I have 3 shots, 1 down and 2 - I am sooo dreading to go - man they hurt.
So confirming - should be ok 4 days after number 3 or do u think there is more of a build up from 3 shots?
I guess you've done them before....bad huh..

I agree - they HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And once it is in and you start you can't stop! Good luck with them - I hope they are worth it and you get your BFP

I am a test junkie and tested way too early (I think I just wanted to see 2 lines ) I only believed it when I got the positive BT.

hun i'd wait til day four post final injection before testing

and then if you get a bfp, check it next day just to be sure it gets darker not disappears
