minnie - congrats on 11 fertalised, great start. to answer your question about thawing, i have had differing results from the 2 clinics i have used. first clinic i lost 4 in the thawing process, out of 10 embryos collected over 3 x stim cycles (hope that makes sense!). current clinic has been much better, think ive lost a couple but that has been bc i thawed 2-3 out at the same time and grew them to blast. so it could depend on your clinic lab, or just quality of embryos at the time. doesnt help with your decision making, i know... pity they cant do the pgd for you straight away. the stim i just did, i got 13 at epu, 11 fertalised, 7 biopsied, ended up with 2 normal blasts. so maybe a second stim wouldnt be out of the question? how many does your clinic let you batch? (mine say 6-7 biopsied, anything over that and they treat it like 2 x pgd rounds and charge extra).

Thanks Andie that's interesting. I spoke to my clinic & asked them if there was a limit to how many embryos were allowed to be tested per pgd cycle & she said no limit, that's pretty mean they make yours 6 or 7, especially with the odds of 60-70% abnormal !

minnie - yeah, i thought it was a bit rough too actually (having max. 6-7 to biopsy). any updates on your cycle?

elle & sunbeam - how are you both going?

hi bf & jbear, hope you're both doing well.

Andie - How are you feeling? Will you do a HPT or are you strong enough to hold out for a BT?

Elle - When are you getting started?

AFM- I had a horrible doubting day today but I had a big chat with Minnie this morning and that helped heaps Its just so scary wondering if this will work out in the end and knowing I am so close to the end if it does not. I start Lucin again tomorrow, last pill this coming saturday, time has gone fast.

    Hi ladies!

60-70% abnormal is just so high... I'm not sure about limits to embryo numbers for biopsy - I just know that I was only allowed to freeze and batch together with a new cycle with 3 or less embies frozen (special permission needs to be granted for any more I think - which I was prepared to do if I ended up with more embies from my last cycle). I'm guessing the ladies here are from all over Australia, so it makes sense that we would have different rules and regulations in our clinics/areas/states.

Thanks for asking after me, Andie - was going to check in on you, too! How are you feeling? Are you going to test soon? When is your BT? Hope you're feeling well and staying positive! I'm doing well - had stitches taken out of my hand which was a relief. It is healing nicely and feels great to have my hand somewhat back (still a bit sensitive and hard to bend a couple of fingers due to location of cut.. silly, silly me). My BT is on Thurs to see what my hormone levels are doing - fingers crossed everything is baseline and I get the green light to proceed with my next cycle. I'm looking forward to moving forward!

How is everyone else going? Hope all are well and happy!

sunbeam - im feeling fine, no symptoms again though. and no, im definately not strong enough to hold out for bt. spent a lot of time on google yesterday trying to figure out when trigger should be out of system. i had 5000 pregnyl, and it looks like 10 days should cover it, but i dont want to test and get a positive, then have bt confirm negative/chem. that sucked last month. i am 13 days past trigger now, so i should be ok to test? tomorrow maybe... that will make it 7dp5dt. glad your chat with minnie made you feel better, you're right - it is scary to think about if this will all work. i really hope so.

elle - good to hear your hand is healing, goodluck for your bt on thursday. mine is scheduled for monday, but i will ring clinic and get it done on friday bc i wont be able to wait that long.

    hi everyone

andie: did you test ? for you !

    sunbeam: glad i could help

elle: looks like you, sunbeam and i will be cycling around the same time, i'll be starting injections again in about 10 days i think

jbear: sorry if i missed it, when is your next scan ?

afm: the clinic rang me yesterday to sort my cycle and was planning it around a long cycle, i had to say ah no we are doing a short and the nurse was confused, anyway it got sorted and my pgd date will be the end of jan, which actually leaves the possible of doing a short or long cycle, im not sure what to do, if we go again now i get the whole thing over with and have a months rest before a possible transfer or we take a break now and do a long cycle that will based around the pgd date so they will be fresh embryos for testing, both have pros and cons, we will get more back if we do the cycle now but is it better to pay more and potentially have more to test because they don't have to survive a thaw but they will be going back when im still in pain from epu. At the moment we are doing the short because thats what i had in my head we were doing

hi brightfuture and joespratt if you are reading

minnie - tough choice, but i would probably do short too. save a bit of money, have a little rest before transfer in jan. its so hard to decide though when you dont know how many from the first batch will be suitable for biopsy. hoping you get some nice numbers to work with & a couple of potential embryos in jan. xx

hi everyone else. i have my bt scheduled tomorrow, not feeling confident as i dont have any symptoms again. not even sore boobs and im on 2 x crinone & 1 x 400mg pessary a day. usually i get sore boobs on 2 crinone a day. i did cave and poas and it came up positive but i know from last month (and my miscarriages) that it doesnt mean anything at this stage. sorry if i sound pessamistic, but im sure you all understand. ill let you know how i go tomorrow.

Andie I hope u get some good news tomorrow. I understand where ur coming from with the positive hpt but I hope this one sticks.

Minnie, my scan is not until 18 December ( ages away ) wont have a 12 week scan unfortunately. That's annoying when u have made a decision & someone throws a spanner in the works. I have only ever done fresh trf's so I can't really offer any advice there I'm sorry. Do what u feel is right. xo

Andie - I am so hoping for good news for you tomorrow. Let us know how you go - I'll be checking in...

Minnie - I think we may be starting around the same time. Sorry I don't have more experience to help you out but I agree with J.Bear about doing what feels right. Sounds like great advice to me.

AFM - Taking progesterone for a few days now to bring an end to this cycle so I'm guessing I'll be starting injections again next weekend. I'm excited to get things happening!

Andie - I fully understand your hesitation babe. If I don't get the porno boobs then I don't believe the HPT either. I still have everything crossed that it is good news and your symptoms are coming

Elle - We will be cycle buddies. I start FSH injections next sunday

J.Bear - How come you don't get a 12 weeks scan? Don't they understand we need to know how your bub is going!!!

Minnie - Decisions decisions decisions!!!! When do they ever stop????

AFM - Last BC pill tomorrow. Probably the last one I will ever take in my whole life, weird feeling!
