    Ovary drilling??

    Hey

I have done IUI's and a few cancelled IVF cycles, but have run into financial difficulty and wont be able to do IVF for a few years i havent been able to do anything TTC wise in almost 2 years and all of this waiting around doing nothing is killing me!! so i thought maybe i should start looking into other things while waiting.

I have PCOS and have been told about how Ovary drilling has helped some people fall pregnant. so if i wanted to go down this path how do i go about it?

I moved 6mths ago so i dont have a FS at the moment, should i go through a FS to get this done or could i use a hospital Gyno for this? i was thinking about using a hosptial Gyno to do the drilling and then maybe go to FS afterwards to maybe do a few IUI's straight after? what do you guys think?

but can i just ask a gyno to do the drilling?? will they do it if i just walk in and ask for it, or do i have to go through something first? or should i go have a talk to FS first see what they say and maybe they might be able refer me to someone that is public and write me a letter requesting the drilling??

mmmmm let me know what you think, have got lots of things running through my head lol

mummy2chloe- I had the ovarian drilling done in Jan for my PCOS. Unfortunately it was found at the same time that I had severe Endo and a blocked tube which is why we went through IVF. I think you would have to go to a FS to get the drilling done, although I'm not sure. I did a lot of research before I got mine done and it has worked for some women to get them to ovulate and reduce their testosterone levels.

    Good luck with everything

Um, trying to remember. The FS did it. I have private health insurance so that covered some of it. I think I ended up paying about 1500 for everything but I had dye studies, laproscopy and hysteroscopy at the same time so the surgery as a bit longer and more complex than just the drilling. It was just day surgery and I was fine after a couple of days.

I had it done many many years ago so sorry it is abit hazey.
My FS did this for me but I think it you have a lap and hysterogry done which is the dye they often will give the ovaries a prod and golfball as my fs use to explain it a gyny can do it also.
Mine wasnt all that sucessful in the natural way so to speak but I did respond very well to IVF drugs due to having it done

    thanks heaps for replying
Miss K if you could give me your fs name that would be awesome!!
I am thinking about going to my gp and have a talk to her, cos money is so tight at the moment i will see if she knows of any gyno's that will do it, through public.....can only try! and if all else fails i will have to get a new fs, which i will have to do anyway and see if they can do it for me. just a little worried about money, but we can save and see where that gets us

    thanks again for posting xx
