Hi all, I'm newbie to LTTTC and worrying to pick up which clinic?
Hi all,
I just found this fantastic place which is so warm in the winter and so supportive.
DH and I have made up our mind finally after over 10 years struggle to start our IVF journey which seems about to change my whole life.
The problem now is that I have no idea how to pick up an IVF clinic. There are so many clinics in Sydney, around my place in Parramatta, there are Westmead Fertility Centre and Next Generation. These two are all in 10 min walking distance. Dear gals, do you have any experience or any comment or any anything on these two clinics? or any recommendation on which specialist? Anything will be welcomed. thank you so much.
What I would probably suggest Nat, is that you pick your clinic via specialist... that is how i choose my clinic, and i was very happy with my Dr. We used Sydney IVF O'connell street in the city.... Check out their websites and review all their Dr's profiles, and speak with your GP... best of luck .. leis xx
Thank you Kate and Leis. Sydney IVF is good but not very handy for me either by train or driving. So maybe I will first consider clinics closer. Yes, I should talk to my GP first. Wish you good luck.
Hi Natalie I know many girls on this forum who have used the westmead clinic and the majority of them have had great success, good luck with your choice and hope you get a BFP soon

I found proximity to be important too - there are so many times when you need to be at the clinic early, for blood tests and scans, and being close by means that you'll be able to sleep in a little bit earlier
I actually chose my clinic on the basis that I wouldn't need to drive all the way into the Brisbane CBD, but as it turns out, I was lucky enough to get an absolute gem of an OB who I feel 100% comfortable with.
Sorry Nat, what i meant was.. with the two clinics you have choosen in your region, go to their websites and look around at their doctors on their.. read their profiles etc etc. As although they are fertility specialists, they all still specialised within something of their speciality.. ie: TTC with endo, or pcos their might be one particular doctor who might suit you and your particular issues or DH's particular issues!!! Yes SIVF would be a long way from Parramatta, but DH and I live on the Mid North Coast and travelled to sydney for our IVF, although we only actually went to the clinic for EPU and ET!!! All scans and bloods were done in our home town... best of luck leis xx

I am seeing Dr Knight at Next generation, going through with the IVF process as we speak. I have found everythings been great..they are all so helpful and the Dr doesnt beat around the bush. The prices arent too bad for a private clinic either... Goodluck with your decision.
Nat - I havent personally tried either of those particular clinics but have heard several women mention their happiness with Westmead... one thing you could do is attend both and see which one seems more suited to you....either way, good luck!

I saw Dr Knight @ Next Gen & found him fantastic, like Mez said he is straight down the line & was quick to get me started. From start to finish my whole IVF expereince lasted 8 weeks with a BFP at the end of my first ICSI cycle! Couldn't get much easier than that!
