Advice - Short Luteal phase & crippling pain at O time.

    Hi all,

Just after some advice, i went off the pill 2 months ago and it seems my short lp is back as is my O pain but a billion times worse. It took over 12 months to conceive DS & my lp was around 10-11 days with dull O pain.
For the last two months at O ime i have had such bad O pain i cannot move for about 14 hours, i have to call DH home from work as i can't look after DS, both months i have felt the need to nearly go to hospital, the pain is that bad! Last month my lp was 7 days & af arrived last night with lp 8 days.
I have been taking since i had DS megafol 5mg (due to miscarriage for anencephaly),
B6, B12 and CoQ10 (which an accupuncturist put me on the month before i fell with DS). I am going to go to the drs as i can't bear the thought of this pain again at O time What should i be asking for and/or should i ask for a referral to someone?
Thanks for any info. Hope this is in the right spot(mods feel free to move if not!).

Im not too sure. That much pain doesnt sound normal. I would be getting it checked out asap. Cant be too careful when it comes to our ovaries.

How short is your luteal phase? Mine has only ever been about 10 days and it hasn't affected conception in our case.

On the O pain, have you ever had an ovarian cyst? It sounds similar to what a friend of mine described who suffered from very bad cysts on one side. Is the pain every month or intermittent? Is it just on one side? She had it so bad she did end up losing an ovary, but she says it was such a dodgey one she was better off without it. She conceived both of her boys after that with no difficulty.

the last 2 months lp was 7 days & 8 days!
I got checked out for a cyst when TTC DS but the pain was much less, and no cyst. Will be booking into the GP first thing tomorrow, live in a rural area though so they are pretty hopeless so i want to go armed with info!

I agree with the others - that much pain around O time, doesn't sound very good. Definately go to your GP. I am not sure of whatelse, apart from an U/S to request though - hopefully someone else will be able to pop in & give you some guidance regarding that.
