    Hello
I am just starting my very 1st IVF cycle am on Day 2 of Microgynon pills, I am very nervous and overwelmed at the moment, I feel stressed for the 1st time in a very long time. Is there anyone else going thru there 1st cycle that wants to keep in touch thru it and share the journey???

    Hi Blayz

Welcome to BB and the IVF journey. I am only slightly ahead of you - on day 15 of the pill and just started the synarel spray this morning. I would love to keep in touch with you to share the journey, as would the other ladies on BB in the LTTTC/AC thread - you should join us in the May sticky thread at the top of the page.

I know what you mean about being nervous and overwhelmed. I felt so excited and scared all at the same time because it means that we might actually have a better chance of TTC than we have had for 18 months now and because I just don't know how my body will react to the drugs. I have had oestregen withdrawal migraines in the past when I have been on the pill, so I am not looking forward to that!

Have you had your meetings with the nurse and counsellor etc yet? and do you have your treatment plan in place? My FS pushed everything through quite quickly for me so things were done a little out of order but the ladies here on BB in the LTTTC&AC thread are SOOOO helpful and will answer any questions you have.

Anyway, good luck and welcome again. Talk to you soon.

    Cheryl

    Hi Blayz,
Good luck with your meeting with the nurses. I find it very good to talk to them and make sure they know this is your first time too. Ask them as many questions as you can - it will make you feel less nervous if you have a bit more clarity about what is coming up next.
I'm a week ahead of you on the BCP (not birth control pill - i call it the bl@@dy contraceptive pill!!!!). Only because i am a chronic migraine sufferer and all those hormone ups and downs aren't good for me!
I hope you feel comfortable to ask any questions you like here - although the nurses are great - there is nothing quite like the support and advice from people going through the same thing.

Good luck and hope this cycle goes great for you!!

    Hi Blayz,

I am at the tail end of my first cycle of IVF. I had my EPU two mondays ago, and a fresh transfer (2 embies) two days later (two weeks tomorrow).
Unfortunately my BT yesterday (and spotting today) suggests that I may have implanted one embryo, but am in the process of losing the embryo after implantation.

I have found it to be less stressful than I imagined (until today) in terms of my response to the drugs etc, but VERY emotional.

    Good luck!

    Hi Blayz,
1st cyle-er here too. Have been on the pill for about 4 days now.

Dh and I had our appointment with the nurse today and picked up all our meds, treatment plan etc.

It is all exciting, nervous asnd scary all at once!

Good luck with it all... hope it all works out well for all of us here!

I have been hanging around just watching on these forums for a while now, and everyone appears to be so supportive and helpful. So hopefully we can all be a support to each other through this process that is ART!!

    Cheers

    to all of us

Oh Dr B I am so sorry to hear that things didnt go so well for you. Best wishes.
Kotare, I did go to the nurses today and it helped heaps I really spent alot of time with her, as you suggested, without feeling guilty about taking up too much of her time as I felt it was important for me. I feel much better now and feel like I am doing the right thing I am on the right path.
PrincessF - hello and welcome!! sounds like you are one day ahead of me!! How exciting. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing and good luck!!!!
My clinic said they have a great success rate for the 1st cycle so i am preying that it applies to me!! Am very excited now that I am over the overwelmed feeling.

Yay Blayz, Glad to hear you are feeling calm and well informed! I'm 100% sure that no matter what you ask the nurses - someone has asked them before!
I hope you can be one of their first-time-lucky statistics!
    Good Luck

Thanks Missy and kotare! I am feeling much less emotional and stressed I really think it was mostly the Microgynon?! Did anyone else have this problem with it? I think too I needed a bit of time to get my head around the whole idea, so to speak and with talking to all you girls it helped ALOT, so thanks to all and here to BFPs all round!

    Ohhh thanks Missy.
They got 13 eggies, 7 fertalised. We are on day 2 and have been advised that there are still 7 ranging from 2 to 5 cells. I am guessing the 2 cell ones will not make it to Sunday (transfer).
I feel really bloated and sore, like stabbing pains in my belly, I so look pregga's, did anyone else exprience this? Missy????

Is anyone else getting a 5 day transfer? It seems as everyone is getting a 2 or 3 day.
Anyways, hope all is well with everyone.

    Hi ladies

Blayz - I found the microgynon made me quite anxious and stressed as well, but some of it may be because of what is coming up next. I started the spray last Tuesday and am not enjoying it. Apart from the actual spraying and feeling like I need to sneeze afterwards, I have had a headache that won't budge for 2 days now, and I think it is making me all a bit vague. Not a good feeling!

Hi Ltl Panda - congrats on your EPU. I am hoping that we get a pick up number in the double digits as well. I have no idea when MIVF will be doing a transfer - I only have a range of dates for EPU at the moment.

Hi to everyone else. The first cycle is all so weird and confusing - I am sure it will all make more sense as we go along.

    Take care and talk soon.

    Cheryl
