Anyone else in the TWW period??

Hi all,

Sorry to butt in like this on your forum but just thought I would join up. Have just been up to Bris for the last couple of days....trying to distract myself :D I am currently up to day 8 of the tww.

How is everyone feeling? Anyone getting any symptoms as yet? I don't feel a thing so just wondering if this is totally normal (I'm sure it is but it tends to do your head in around this time doesn't it?).

Hi Rara and welcome to TWW hell. I dont know if my symptoms are in my head but my nipples are abit sore. Could be from the meds im also taking. Other then that nothing but I only had the ET last thursday so probably to early.

Lynn, I havent got a BT booked in they say to me that i have to missed my AF and then call them for a BT appt, so I am planning on HPT on Sat and Bt next week when i can. I have become more and more patient thru this whole process this is my 3rd IUI.

How can you feel so relaxed. Its so hard this TWW but I guess it has to be done.

Well I got the results from my bt today. Progesterone is 42 which they say is fantastic. So now I just have to wait until 31 May for my bt to confirm if I am UTD or not. AF is due on 29 May so I am hoping the wicked witch stays away.

Welcome Rara. I hope you leave here with a bfp! I am like Blayz - I don't want to jinx myself by revealing any symptons. I am telling myself that they are in my head.

i really hope this is the one for you Lynn (and everyone else of course!) - those BT results are very promising...

Hi Everyone - I have just slotted in to the 2WW - I had my first IUI transfer today.
Im so nervous about what I should and shouldn't do - but the Nurses just told me to carry on as normal. So, im going to try and do that!!
You girls are all ahead of me, so I wish you all the best of luck - hopefully you will all be an inspiration to me to get through this trying time! I am such an impatient person - I doubt if I will be able to get through until my BT date - 7th June - without doing a HPT. My DH will kill me if I do though... so, I am going to try and get through it!!
When is it possible to get a BFP on a HPT though?? What day?? (see, im already being sneaky!)

Hi Karena & all you other 2WW's

I have just joined the 2WW, we had a mad rush yesterday, got a call at 2pm to say DH & I had to get to the clinic asap. So after much running around we got DH a sample cup, he did his business, we did my trigger shot & then back to the clinic with sample, I had just enough time for a shower & back again for our (2nd) IUI attempt. Not sure what to think really it all happened so fast this time & prior to that all my levels were doing weird things so maybe cause everything else went t*ts up we may get this bit right! :D

I had 2 decent sized follicles, one on each side, the smaller one being on my left (tube removed from right side) so not sure how much of a chance we have, clinic said cause both were bigger then 15mm I would probably release 2 eggs, we had 18 million good swimmers yesterday so fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone, Karena my test is 6th June so we seem to be v close in dates.

Hi girls - i had my first IUI on Saturday - and i'm not supposed to do BT until the 8th - that's going to kill me!!! i even had a go at the nurse about it being a really long 2 weeks - she just said they wanted to make sure i was well overdue! i guess the HPT stash will be coming out a bit before then!

Hi Karen and CAH. Welcome to the TWW. Wow I thought the 4th seemed heaps away but the 6th and 7th, Hmmmm well I couldnt handle that. I think you will be able to do HPT around the 1st I think. Im going to do one 31st or 1st If AF doesnt show her head. My BT is 4th. I had my ET last Thursday so Ive also got abit to go. Well I wish you all good luck.

Hi CAH - wow - that is close... one day apart! It makes things seem a little easier when you know others are going through the same thing - and with such a close time period!!
I have decided that we are going away for the weekend this weekend - im go to try everything I can to help speed up the next 2 weeks...

BG - I hope you feel better soon. I hate it when Dr's dont seem as if they know what they are talking about. Its even worse when they carry on about something you dont even want to talk about!! All I can say is, she better not have stuffed you around - you better be ok!!

I feel a bit crappy tonight... ive been crampy since this morning, but it has gotten worse since the IUI this afternoon. I think I might have an early night tonight and see how I feel in the morning! It cant be bad news SO soon!!

OH - BG - I find it SO strange that your BT is AFTER mine!!! WTF? Do you think you will do a HPT before the 8th???

definitely! there is no way i'll make 21DPO before testing! i'll be lucky to make 14!!

I know i don't belong here (not right now anyway) but i just wanted to say, wow - there are a lot of ladies doing IUI! I think that's great. It's good to see that there are FSs out there who don't rush straight to IVF, and start out with something a little less interferring (and expensive!)

Ive woken up feeling crap again. both side of my nose are blocked and feel like AF is coming. I was so sure I was going to be pg this time.

Well I think I'm out of the 2WW! I did my calcuations last night and reaslised that AF due today so I did a HPT and guess what.....??????
BFN. Of course it is! And now feel as though AF is on her way here ASAP.
Am not too upset this time, last month I was a mess.

Its interesting that you would say that Kotare... I was actually a little disappointed when my FS told us we should try IUI first. I just thought - why cant we just jump straight on board with IVF?? In hindsight though, you are right - IUI is much less invasive and I am glad that he is letting us give it a go!

Fingers crossed for EVERYONE during this 2WW... :crossfingers:

Jo - i was surprised when i first started out at how few people were doing IUI - i felt like a bit of a freak that was getting the run around by my FS - but now that a few more girls are doing IUI i realise that it's definitely not a bad option - and so much less invasive! i so hope this works out this time!!

Missy - sorry you're feeling so crummy again today - my issues seem to have settled down a fair bit over night - still not feeling great, but i'm sure i'll get over it - spending a quiet day today and hoping that will be enough!

well I survived my cold after spending days and days in bed. lucky for me I had booked leave. With this being my first IVF cycle I didnt know how I would respond to the drugs and procedures so had taken 2 weeks off. As it happens I seem to be a 'quick starter' and from go (start of jabs) to whoa (collection)was 7 days. Plenty of time off for recuperating from collection and from cold, but of course now I am paranoid about what effect the cold might have had on the little'uns (I have amazed myself at how maternal I feel about two little bunches of cells....I am a jaded old scientist and thought I would be very scientific about all of this. Um no.

missy; sorry you have got a cold too! You dont go through concept do you...perhaps its the 'cold hub'! No my blood test is on the 28th. I have a 21 day cycle though these days which puts AF due on the 25th. AM trying VERY hard not to buy hpt.

lynn; thanks for your wishes. My cold is 90% gone now....I am alive! :)

I know that I am not alone here, but just to reassure me that Im not crazy, does EVERYONE read SO MUCH into every little sign over the tww. My girlfriends have told me all the signs they had (before af was due) when they conceived, and I keep going ' do I have this, do I have that?" Aaargh. My bb are sore but thats the prog pessaries I guess as that started before the ET even happened. I dont really crave alcohol the way I normally do, but that might be bc I 'weaned' myself off it while I was growing eggs (weird huh...I wanted them to be big and juicy ones). I dont miss my 'proper coffee' (also weaned off), but certainly dont feel naseous at the thought of nescafe.I even had a glass of wine (well 1/2 really) last nigth bc I felt that this would have a 'negative jinxing' effect. Mad woman. Not too much guilt for that though as my bestie had a blinder after some exams during her (unrealised tww) before she knew she was UTD. Her bub was 110% gorgeous (though the bottle-top growing out of her ear looks a bit odd :))

Drbeee - I am glad that you are feeling better. Pg and AF symptoms are very similar because of the rise in prog. For some people it is hard to know the difference. Prog is also an immune suppressant so that is why so many of us have colds at the moment.

Welcome karena and CAH to the 2ww. I hope you get your bfp at the end!

Missy - sorry that you are feeling sick again. I hope it passes very soon.

Hey Drdeee I know how you feel about every little symptom. Im doign the same here. My nipples were abit tender but not the boobs are abit too. But am I reading into it as I feel like AF is coming and is that pre Af signs. Arggggg I hate this time. I hope you get your bfp at the end.

Bg Im feeling abit better now. The nose seems to have dried up. YAY. but have pains in the tum very much like AF so that is abit worrying.

Hey Lynn I know af and pg signs are almost the same. Geee its a pain you know, as you think, oh boobs are sore, good sign but then AF shows her ugly head. Good luck you too hun!!!

the progesterone/crinone/booster shots all, from what i've read, do a great job of messing with our heads in regards to symptoms - sucks big time! you so want to be able to work out if AF is coming, or if you're getting early pg symptoms, and can't!

missy - glad you're feeling a bit better this arvo - i'm thinking i may be starting to get a bit of a cold at the moment - nothing too drastic, but was VERY sneezy yesterday, and a bit snuffly today - my bro and SIL both have the flu, and had to drop some stuff there yesterday, so wouldn't be surprised if they decided to share (i know mum told bro and I to share when we were kids, but there are some things i just don't need from him!)


drbeee - glad you survived your cold - looks like there's still hope for us missy! i guess i'm just worried that all the sneezing and stuff will mess with implantation (sillly, i know, but my tummy muscles are sore from sneezing so much yesterday - that can't be good can it??)

Oh BG I so hope you dont get a cold as we cant take anything for it. Its so bad. I dont know if that would interfer with implantation, I hope not as if its going to happen for me it should have. Oh I still feel like AF is coming and spoke to DH and he said He remembers me saying that with DS but I thought I was further along but he said no. So I just have to wait.

i've felt like i have a combination of AF and UTI from the day i had the trigger shot - just a real tightness in my lower abdo - i figure i'm going to try so hard to ignore everything like that!

i doubt that sneezing would make any difference - but it's the little things we fixate on! i have sore tummy muscles from sneezing - and every time i sneezed yesterday i automatically grabbed my lower tum like i was protecting it - silly, huh?

i'm pretty certain i o'd from both sides early saturday morning, so i guess that makes me 4DPO today - from what i've read, implantation won't be for another few days if it happens....

Oh Bg how exciting. Im sure it will happen for you this month. Dont feel silly about holding tum as I find myself talking to my embies saying " come on little ones attach to mummy" but you know I dont feel silly about it. We just want kids and theres nothing more important to me then that.

i have been praying that this will happen for us so much - and DH has been kissing my tum each morning and night to encourage it along - it's very cute - kiss on the tum for a baby, kiss on the lips for me, then i have to roll over so he can kiss my shoulder goodnight for our angels (have a tat for our angels, and he kisses it goodnight every night - very sweet!)

the last couple of nights the tum has gotten more kisses than me though - wondering if i should be jealous....

he's gorgeous - and he doesn't realise it! he thinks that all the things he does is normal and sometimes he struggles to hear about guys who don't do the same things! he's very sweet, and i coult my blessings every day that i was lucky enough that he chose me

Oh bg I also have a very wonderful man. He has changed my life for the best. Its nice when you have DH as Ive heard of some really horrible man out there.

I had some terrible cramps yesterday, day after IUI was beginning to think I may have had an infection but they eased off by lunchtime so hoping they don't come back.

Can't believe how many IUI'ers there are this time, I am not alone :D

I have decided to take a couple days off work near the test, last cycle it was just to much for me & I was a complete basket case! Trying to do normal everyday stuff & cope with all this sometimes just gets to much.

i'm with you CAH - the day of my scheduled BT is a friday so i'm taking that day off - we have a long weekend that weekend, so i'll have a few days to come to terms with the news either way before i have to go to work (having said that, i'm sure i'll test the weekend before... but it's a great reason for a long weekend!)

i've also had off and on cramping since the IUI on Saturday - felt like AF and UTI combined for a while - has mostly stopped now, although i had a pregnyl booster shot today, and have had some more niggling...

Hi ladies I think it might be my time over this month. AF pains are really bad. I keep going to the toilet to check but nothing but I know she is coming. I know why there isnt any blood there is still hope.

Missy it cant be time yet for AF when is it due??? STAY AWAY AF!! Mine not here yet either but got the pain too??!!!!
