Anyone over 40 successful with IVF??

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to get some feedback on if anyone out there has been successful with IVF over the age of 40.

And also how many stimulated cycles before getting your precious little one..

I will be starting my 4th stimulated cycle this month and am curious.

Come and join the thread in TTC Buddies, there is a thread called older woman August #2 and you will find lots of girls in there between 35 and mid 40's sharing their experiences. Yes there are girls who fall pregnant over 40 - come on in and join our thread you will find lots of great girls in there.

I don't know the details...but my neighbour just had a baby girl from her first cycle of IVF and she is 40 yo.
I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for letting me know Sam. That is great news..

Isn't is so sad that there is a lot of women who are trying for a baby and having problems. My advise is to don't leave it too late to have a child if you are wanting one in the near future, as it does get harder. DH and I regret not trying earlier...but we won't give up...there is still a chance. Just keep thinking positive. We just can't wait to hold our bub in our hands one day...he or she will be very spoilt..

Hi max,

It is really sad that so many great women (and men) have trouble getting pregnant.

My hubby and I have been trying since January. And even though it has only been 8 months it is still such an emotional thing.
I was so happy when my neighbour told me that she was 40 and had been successful with IVF. It is stories like that that give you hope, if you know what I mean.

I hope you have a great weekend too....and that soon you will be holding your bub.
