I have been TTC for ovr 2 years now and having no luck.
My endo said last time i seen him that i have to have 12 months of regular periods for him to help me anymore with different meds and i really want to try clomid.
I was wondering is this correct and how did you get clomid
Clomid in Oz is only available through prescription by a specialist (gynae or obs), not a normal GP. Could be different in the UK, 'tho.
Think its a bit strange that he will only treat you when you have 12 months of regular periods. If you had regular periods - you'd be less likely to need him, wouldn't you.
I would suggest going to another Dr who is more sympathetic to your situation. Have you had any blood tests done or an ultrasound? Has you partner been tested to see if his sperm is healthy? There are so many things that can be done in the meantime to eliminate different conditions that effect fertility.
Know what you're going through as we have been TTC for 2 years also.
How long have you been taking Metformin to regulate your cycle? has it helped at all with ovulation?
We TTC for 14 months before seeing my GP who couldnt give me clomid but recommended a fertiltiy specialist that gave me clomid. I didnt have any regular periods at all sometimes I went for 40 - 60 days without a period. So you DO NOT have to have regular periods to have clomid. All they need to do is give you a tablet to bring on your period then you can start clomid.
My specialist told me to take 50mg of clomid from day 2 - day 6 of my period and do OPK's to see when I ovulate and temp too. I concieved first cycle but sadly miscarried and then had a 2 month break and he gave me Metformin to take as well as Clomid together. We concieved 4 months after starting on Clomid and Metformin and we now have a healthy little girl!
