    Clomid Side Effects??

    Hi all,

I am on my first cycle of Clomid (50mg) and taking the 3rd tablet today. I have been having what I assume are side effects of the Clomid today and yesterday - nausea and mood swings mostly.

I was just wondering though, will these last the entire cycle or will they ease off once I finish taking the tablets for the month? Last night was quite bad - nearly vomited in bed in the middle of the night!!LOL

    TIA

    Hi Rach,

I'm taking it CD1 to CD5 and have been taking it at around 5pm. I thought that I might avoid any side effects by taking them later in the day? The really bad nausea hit at about 1am this morning and settled a bit after an hour or so.

Maybe I should take them right before bed instead??

    Hi Megsmum and Rach

Your thread caught my attention as i am about to start my first cycle of clomid tomorrow and was wondering what sort of side effects i might get. I am taking it CD2-CD6.

Its bad timing as i have to go away on interstate on work trip on monday so reading up on your experiences i think i will definately take just before bed. I wouldn't want to be be inflight or working with my client and getting the onset of nausea! Hopefully that will keep me safe.

Megsmum, glad to hear you're getting better now too.

    Hi Maz,

    Thanks for that

All the best for your first cycle - I hope you get no side effects like I did.

I took my last tablet yesterday and have been feeling not to bad today - no nausea anymore, but I have been horrendously hormonal! LOL

    Good luck!

Hi, i would like to know what clomid is used for? I hear lots about it but don't know exactly why it is prescribed.

if you google clomid you will find the many reason people use it, mainly to help with Ovulation

    Hi Aqua,

I am taking Clomid because I have a low progesterone and a generally short (23 or 24 day) cycle which has also been quite irregular in length since I had 2 early miscarriages earlier this year. My ob thinks that I may not be ovulating at all or not ovulating "properly" - whatever that means!

He is hopeful that it will help increase the length of my cycle to closer to 28 days as well as increasing my progesterone and other hormone levels. This should either make me ovulate (if I am not ovulating currently - which I am not so sure about because my temp charts seem to indicate that I am ovulating), or if I am ovulating it will help increase the length of my cycle so that implantation can actually happen properly.

I hope this helps - there are probably heaps of other ladies here that can answer this better than me!! LOL
