Hi ladies I'm just popping in to introduce myself as I'll be hanging about here more often in future.
We're 15 cycles down the track of TTC #1 and just completed an Assessment Cycle with a fertility clinic, an issue was found with the number of eggies I'm producing and it's been recommended we give IUI a go which we'll commence next cycle (beginning of September). It is a bit daunting but I'm sure I'll get lots of useful info and of course support from all you lovely ladies !
It's also a bit exciting because it feels like next month we'll have the best chance that we've ever had in past TTC efforts.
Thanks girls. I'm a bit nervous about it all (especially the needles). My doc is starting me on a very low dose Perugon first cycle (50iui).
Ellie, I'm with Pivet. I've been quite happy with the nurses and how the clinic is well organised, tho I'm taking some time to warm to my FS - I dont really care though so long as she knows what she's doing and does what needs to be done. I found Pivet were really thorough with the assessment cycle. It's interesting that different clinics do slightly different things. What clinic are you with?
I wish I had another followup appointment two days after I was originally given the IUI news and treatment plan.. I have so many more questions now I've had a chance to "absorb" the info. Maybe will see if I can have a chat to one of the clinic nurses.
Deni - feel free to jump into the LTTTC & AC thread - we're all at different points of AC - i myself have been going through IUI for pretty much all of this year, so happy to help in answering any questions you have at any point. alot of the IUI process once you're using ovulation induction is very similar to IVF (until trigger shot) so a lot of your questions are possibly generic ones that we can all help with. we're a pretty welcoming bunch!
don't hesitate to PM me with any questions you have hun - i'll help you where i can!
Sharon, wishing you all the best of your TTC journey. I am currently pg with our FSH/IUI miracle so I just wanted to give you some hope that it can work. Take care
Hi Deni,
looks like you and I might be going through this together!
I'm starting IUI tomorrow - and have an appointment with my clinic (i'm in NSW) to pick up the meds and learn how to do the injections (well my husband will be handling that part - unfortunately, i can't even have a blood test without passing out - so this might prove to be quite tricky!)
Anyway - we might be able to stumble through this together?
DH and I are categorised as "unexplained infertility" and have been trying naturally now for over a year, so i know what you mean when you say, this time feels like there really is some hope....
Thanks girls !
Leeshie - I'm glad a newbie is going through it around the same time as me (although I'm two weeks behind!). Hope today's appointment went well. I'll be very interested to hear how all the injection learning went and how your DH coped with it!
Ellie - my best friend has her first appt with fertility north in October. Glad you can recommend it!
Lynn - super CONGRATULATIONS to you and thank you for popping in to let me know of your success. How exciting !!!! Wish you a H&H pregnancy!
