Well, if it helps, I have to take the script in myself for IVF. I just don't pay for all the meds.

I understand. It sucks. Infertility treatment is so friggen expensive. It costs us thousands when it costs everyone else nothing
    yep.... this sucks dogs balls.......

keep your chin up Tasha... I haven't done IUI, but it is covered in IVF.... so you'd think it'd be the same???? assuming it's 'required' for IUI????

FX you can relax after you call them tomorrow

    Thanks myturn!

Just an update, my puregon will cost me around $30-$60. I'm assuming they give me the pen and all that stuff, I just need to pick up the actual drug hence the cheaper price. Woohoo! Picking it up tomorrow

cost of OI and IUI from monash ivf

    Hi Tasha,

I happened to come across your post. we will be having treatments with monash ivf too. i am waiting to see the patient coordinator. i have however seen my FS to discuss treatments. was wondering if you can fill me in on your journey with them? i am in particular very confused with the fees. i was quoted out of pocket for OI to be $380 and IUI to be $1547. not even sure if this even includes medications. how long did it take for the whole process to start? thanks for answering...

My FSH was always covered by the PBS. As long as you're meeting the conditions for prescription (I think you have to have tried clomid first and have had a HSG done), you should only be paying the $30-something we all pay for each prescription (or the lesser amount for people with a health care card)? That was my understanding anyway. Has it changed? You can look up the requirements and the costs on the PBS website.

Pregnyl wasn't covered by the PBS, but I only used it during my IVF so it was included in the cycle price.

Pregnyl wasn't covered for me either, but my Gonal F was (IVF).
