    Do adhesions grow back???

i am having surgery on the 16th of march to remove adhesions from my tubes and also a few other places i was just wondering if they will grow back after the surgery? we have been trying for no 2 for over 3 years now the fertility specialist only wants us to try for 6 months after the surgery before moving on to ivf

I can see the FS point in putting a time frame on ttc naturally before moving onto something else. But it is your choice to make. I had an ectopic pregnancy and tube removed and went on 2months later to have surgery to repair my remaining tube and have it flushed. They removed some adhesions that were pinning the tube down so it wasn't able to move the growing embie or egg down the tube (putting me at an even higher risk of another ectopic) alot of adhesions were left and they did tell me there was a high chance they would re-adhere to the wrong places. I fell pregnant 9months later naturally (the cycle before we started IVF) so it was successful for me.

Thank you. My FS also gave us 6months ttc naturally then IVF (we had been ttc for 18months when I had my surgery for adhesions) we were waiting for my health insurance to kick in and DH wasn't as keen as I was and it was 9months or 10cycles after when I got my BFP.

Are they going to flush your tubes at the same time?

Yes i am pretty sure they will he said he wants to get rid of the adhesions and give everything a good clean out at the same time, we have decided after the surgery that we will try naturally untill jan 2012 and if not sucessful will go on to ivf,
