Do you need to have a dominant follie to ovulate???
I was hoping someone might know the answer to my question...
Do you need to have a dominant follie to ovulate?
The reason I ask is that I had my mid-cycle scan on Thursday (CD13) and, much to my disappointment, my FS said there was nothing much there follie wise She did a BT to make sure I hadnt O'd (I hadnt). She said to use OPK tests over the weekend and go back for another scan next wednesday.
Strangely, I got a positive OPK today (CD 16)! I was surprised...I have also had a dull ache in the ovary area this evening.
Could i possibly go from "nothing" to having a follie dominant enough to Ovulate in just three or so days????????????? Or do I not need to have a dominant follie to ovulate???
mmmmmm not too sure on the answer but would like to know for furture, i guess it is very possible (our bodies work in strainge ways at times)
I know after one extra day of IVF drugs i went from no pick up to......stop your meds now you are coming in lol
I also know that OPK never worked for me as they always showed that i was Oing due to my PCOS so I would have many many BT leading up to a FET, it really sucked
nothing2lose, did you get an answer to your question? I just had what is about my 7th scan on what was meant to be a natural cycle. Apparently I have a thick lining but the FS couldnt find a follicle.....Im now at CD26.....he wants to change me to a artificial cycle.
Anyhow I am also getting a dark 2nd line on the opk...its not quite as dark as the control line but I would say by tomorrow it will be.....
I do have another scan and blood test tomorrow and I think he will make the decision if I will change to the artifical cycle....
Was just interested if you found out if you could surge if you didnt have a dominante folicle....
