Hi Girls, well I just triggered at 7.00pm. Todays scan showed 48 large follies. I have to travel down to Lismore tomorrow for OPU thur morn at 6.30am.
Nervous excited everything at once!!
Nurse did say that the Dr's were thinking of a freeze all. I was so dissapointed. She then rang and said that on day 4 I will go for a battery of tests to see if we can still transfer day 5. Yeeeh. I still can't believe I even got to this stage.
Please wish me luck for Thur morning.
Love Ann
Hi, Hubby here, what a roller coaster of emotions (and I'm not having hormones injected!!!). For the DHs' out there who think its' not going to be as emotional for them.....think again. When the nurse mentioned a freeze all, I said to Ann, "I feel like a big cry".
Fingers crossed for big swimmers now.

Oh Ann, congrats on the trigger. Did you do it at home?
If they freeze all, is it because of your hormone levels not be ready for implantation?
-
Hi yes we triggered at home, Dh has done every injection for me.
The nurse said that the reason they were considering a freeze all was because risk of hyper stimulation.
But fingers crossed that we can do a freshy transfer.

Yaye Ann - Sending you all the best of luck and hope it all goes well. Wow! Cant believe you ended up with 48 follies - that seems incredible!
Nice to hear from your Dhs point of view, hope neither of you will need a big cry - unless it is from happiness :)
Good luck with the pickup and cant wait to hear how it goes.

Best of Luck tomorrow Ann!!
Wishing you LOTS of eggs!! and lots of embryos. Hopefully all will go well and you can have a fresh transfer in a few days!!!
Look forward to hearing your good news!!
-
Way to go, Ann! =D> It's looking good for lots and lots of eggs on Thursday! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and the Dr lets you have ET. You must let us know how it goes.
-
well, I'm about to head off to Lismore, I thought I'd do a little christmas shopping while I'm down there. I'm feeling really nervous about tomorrow. I was on another web site last night just browsing, and all these women were talking about how horrible and painful OPU is. Well that really did it for me, as the nurse said last night that it would take quiet a while as I had so many follies.
Well better go, shopping to do, and then a quiet night relaxing with Dh tonight before the big day tomorrow. Will keep you all posted.
Good luck to everyone in todays quest (whatever it may be)

Ann,
You will have probably gone through it all by the time you read this, so this is a belated good luck. Lovely to hear from your hubby too!
Fingers crossed that you get to do a fresh transfer, but then agian, you don't want to have the complications of hyperstim while possibly pg either. My BIL's sister had hyperstim one day after transfer and she was sooooo sick. And they couldn't treat her as they would have liked as they had to treat her as though she was pg - which she did turn out to be and had twins.
Best wishes

Hi girls,
Well girls they picked up 20 eggs. They didn't go for all of them the Dr said we were getting greedy. Oh and the drugs I loved them.I even asked for more and when the Dr asked if I was in pain I said oh no I just like the drugs, so he gave me more.
The whole process was nothing like I thought it would be, I won't say painless more discomfort. Hubby was great through out. I hope everybody is well.

OMG Ann! What wonderful news!
Are you going to have an ET this month? It sound like you're on a roll, hunny, so I really hope so!

Ann -- That is FANTASTIC news! Well done! Sounds like you are blitzing it and if you keep up this form you'll be getting that BFP very soon!
Are you going for an ET straight away, or waiting and doing an FET?
(BTW - Big =D> thanks to a helpful, supportive hubby, too.)

Congratulations Ann - what is the status of the ET?
-
Hey, Ann, that is a fantastic number of eggs. I'm glad you came through the EC ok. I found the drugs did nothing for me, just made me feel shaky. Fingers and toes crossed for your fertilisation results, plus hope you get to do ET this cycle.
-
Hi girls,
I'm just waiting for a phone call from the nurse to see how many fertilized.
On Monday I have to go for a heap of BT's to see if they can transfer Tue morn. They are worried about hyper stimulation, as the Dr said even after EC follies still grow or start growing, but I don't feel sore or anything, so fingers crossed. I will keep you all posted about that one.
Hope all your bodies are doing what they are supposed to be doing.

-
Ann,
congratulations on the huge number of eggs. That is great news.

Ann you are truly amazing not be sore with the number of eggs and follies you had. After my egg collections I'm sore for 2 weeks - I'm probably just a sook though!!!!
:D
-
Well I heard from the nurse, 17 eggs were injected and 13 fertilized, so now just waiting, waiting, waiting.
Hubby popped home after I text him on his mobile, and he said, "I'm a father to 13 I hope they are being looked after". I didn't have the heart to tell him they are still not visible to the naked eye.

Ann, what a sweetie of a hubby you have...
He thinks he is SUPER DAD now!!!!
-
=D> Yay! 13 is a good number (hope you're not superstitious!). Feels weird though, doesn't it, having future bubs "out there" being looked after.
-
Way to go Ann. 13 is a great number of fertilised eggs! Are sure they will all be growing tremendously and you will have your pick of the crew! You may have already said, but I was wondering if you intend on putting 1 or 2 back (or more? 8-[ ?)
Keen
-
I was only going to put one bubba back, but if hubby has his way he would put 13 back.
Ann

I think that's called a litter & you need more nipples to feed em' all!!!
HA HA HA HA!!!!
-
You're really cracking me up today LOL, it must be funny friday..Tracey
In San Francisco my cousin would have all the embies transferred! She was fortunate to have 2 x singleton pgs. But she had to do an ec each cycle!!!
-
Hi girls,
just heard from the nurse I have 1 embryo @ 5 cell stage, 10 @ 4cell stage and 2@ 2 cell stage. I don't know but I thought that the embryo's divided at even numbers.
Wondered if anyone had any ideas. Also hubby and I have given serious thought to having two put back in.
Ann
-
Hi Ann,
I would have thought they divided evenly as well, but I really have no idea. As far as having 2 put back, I can't remember your situation, but if you have no children, I would be putting 2 back in and tat would be a bonus. Twins are hard work in the beginning but then you may not need to go back for more IVF if you wanted more than one child.
-
Hi Ann,
I think the 'textbook' division is equal numbers, doubling each time. But that doesn't always happen and it doesn't mean anything is wrong.
Are they day 2 or day 3 embryos? A 5-cell on day 2 is pretty advanced!
On day 3 I had a 5-cell one.
Are your BTs tomorrow re decision about ET?
My DP and I are also thinking seriously about asking for 2 embys to be put back. We have an appointment with the RE tomorrow, will be interesting to see if we can hold our ground or get talked out of the idea.
-
Ann -- When it comes to putting 2 back I think it is something that all us IVFers consider at some stage or another. For me this is my first try and Im still pretty young ( I guess 8-[ ) so we are going to only put 1 back, plus dr is pretty determined for us not to have two unless we are unsuccessful this time or the next.
I think, so long as you are making an informed decision about it then the choice should be totally yours. My friend recently gave birth to twins (identical, conceived naturally) and they were both very healthy and her pregnancy was not the nightmare that you often hear about with twins and would tell anyone to go for it because now she has two beautiful little girls and wouldnt change that for the world.

Hi girls,
Today is day three for our embies 4 @ 8 cell, 6 @ 7 cell and 3 @ 6 cell.
I hope the little ones keep powering along. Tomorrow I have to have a whole heap of Bt's to see if I can go ahead with ET Tue morn. Fingers crossed, I don't want to have a freeze all.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Love Ann
-
Hi Ann, hope you had a lovely weekend. Have you heard how your littlies are going this morning? When will you hear about ET? Fingers crossed, it is tomorrow. :luck: Very exciting! Have you decided on 1 or 2?
-
Oooh things sound great!
Hope the BT comes back ok.

Hi Girls,
Had my Bt this morning, and the nurse just rang to say that today day 4 I have 4 compacted embies, 3 partially compacted embies, 1 @ 10 cell and 3 @ 8 cell, whicj means 3 didn't make it.
I have a tentative booking for tomorrow for transfer at 11.45 am, but I won't know until tonight whether it will be a freeze all <:-( or freshy tomorrow. I'm not usually an agro person, but I really want this to go ahead tomorrow so I might have to put an angry head on and demand......
Love Ann.
xx
-
Ann, your littlies are doing really well! =D> You've got a whole football team in the wings! I agree with you re kicking up a bit of a stink. I know the docs err on the side of caution, but unless you are heading toward serious OHSS you should be allowed to take the risk (methinks!) and have ET. From what I've read on the net, it seems that if your emby(s) take then OHSS can become bad, but the good news is that you would be pg.
-
The thing is I feel great, no problems, so I'm hoping that they will let me go ahead tomorrow. Now the other big thing is, hubby is trying to talk me around into having two put back, even the nurse who did the Bt this morning was saying that two was better than one, yeh, like is she going to come around and help with the 3am feeds???
I really don't know on this one, all along we were saying just the one, but now hubby has rethought this issue!!!
Anyway I'll keep you all posted, it's funny though after each piece of news I get, after telling hubby, you girls are the first to know.
Hope all is well
Ann

Well I just heard from the nurse, late I know, I can go ahead for the embryo transfer tomorrow. She did say that I was still at risk of hyper stimulation as my bt results were in the high range of normal.
But yeh!!! Tomorrows the day.
Talk to you later
Ann :D

That's fantastic news Ann. Best wishes for it all tomorrow. Bet you can't sleep tonight!!

Hi Girls,
Back from the embryo transfer. The staff were fantastic. They even took a photofor us to take home of our embryo before it was transfered. But the one touch that I thought was really nice, all of the staff, dr's, nurses, scientists, even the receptionist came into the theatre to give both hubby and I kisses and cuddles, as they said these were good luck, I just thougth it was a really nice gesture.
Well Iv'e had a little sleep this afternoon, and feeling nothing but the slightest of cramping (infact I probably wouldn't notice it if I hadn't had ET today). And yes we only had one embryo put back, as the Dr's are still really nervous about me hyper stimulating, as they said any side effects, and I must go straight into hospital. Hopfully I won't have to worry about any of that.
Good luck to all waiting for something :D
