Hey there everyone,

It's been a couple of years since I have posted. But I've been stalking everyone hopelessly, and just wishing everyone the best.

This is quite a specific shout-out for advice I guess.

Okay, here goes. I had moderate/severe endo treated by lap in early 2010, right before I conceived my daughter (literally the month after, miracle). During that op, I had an endometrioma on my left ovary removed.

Fast forward to 2013. We've been trying for number 2 for about 18 months, and now we're doing IVF (we've done one stim, one thaw cycle) and it seems I now have an AMH level of 1.5 and also now a poor responder, and indeed the left ovary only produced one follicle. The right produced 4 follicles (we got to embies, neither of which took). The thing is, the scans revealed an endometrioma on the right ovary now, the one that seems to be more productive. And it was initially just under 3cm in diameter, but now, as we approach our second stim cycle, the scans show that it has increased by about 1cm, and is now about 4cm wide. Probably due to the IVF stimulation itself. Such a cruel irony, right?

Anyway our doctor has advised us to proceed with the stim cycle, without surgery, because he thinks it's our best shot at a pregnancy, esp given the AMH. The alternative would probably involve impairing the ovary, so I might be left with two impaired ovaries.

I totally get what he is saying and I guess I am onboard. Sort of. IVF has never worked for us, so it's hard to believe in it. I am just scared that the cyst will grow yet again. I feel I cannot make the right decision. Like all the options are quite risky.

Any experience with endometriomas? Any ideas?

All the best,
WW
