i have had a stitch like pain all day today and its starting to really hurt. the pain is around my belly button and down towards my ovaries???? it feels sort of like a stitch from running, its doesnt come and go its there ALL the time. i have no idea what it is, i have never had this before?? i had my trigger shot on tuesday morning so i dont think it would have anything to do with the pregnyl cos its been a few days, and i am not ovulating cos i have been using opk test and todays test is negitive. i am starting crinone tonight and a little worried cos i know they can give you cramps and the last thing i need right now is cramps on top of this feeling
have you been keeping an eye on your weight for OHSS purposes? it sounds like you have nasty bloating, which is possibly a sign of OHSS (but not always - so don't fret!) - call the clinic, and ask them for advice. given that you have been stimmed, it's quite possible that your body is just reacting to that.
i am bloated, but have been bloated for a few days now. i didnt think OHSS would be a worry with this cycle seen as though i only had 2 eggs big enough ( mind you a had a blo*dy million little ones, god i love PCOS lol). its strange whatever this is cos i cant really pin point an area where it is sore, its sore from the top of my belly button right down to the ovaries, its just like a stitch that covers that whole area
i am trying to spring clean my house and clean the yard up but i have to keep stopping cos of the pain. cricky i had diahorria (sp?) yesterday and now i have this silly little thing. with any luck tomorrow might be normal
given the number of immature follicles, OHSS is still a risk. on the cycle i developed mild ohss, i had 3 dominant follicles, something like 21 smaller ones (over 10mm) and tones of teeny ones. it's those little ones that still rupture and leak fluid into your abdomen...
Sorry - I'm crashing in on this - so what's the difference between recovering from a normal EPU and OHSS?
Reading this - I have had exactly the same things - stitches around the ovaries, pain when going to the loo (first couple of days), swelling in the abdomen etc.
I thought it was just a normal reaction from the EPU.
(Oh BTW M2C - I had a big spring clean on Wednesday so I know the feeling)
gargy - ohss is an extreme gain of fluid - it was uncomfy, i was drinking heaps and retaining a lot more. in extreme cases it can impact your breathing from the fluid build up
some pain is normal - you've just had needles puncturing your ovaries, so they'll be sore and swollen.
one thing that was suggested to me was to weigh myself, and again next day - if weight gain is more than i think a kilo, it's a sign that you're retaining fluid. another thing is to get a soft tape measure. use a marking pen and mark two spots on either side of your abdomen (i marked hit bones) an inch or two below belly button. measure. and keep and eye on the measurement - if it increases much, it's another sign of fluid retention. this measurement i always took laying flat on my back - no room for error that way!
