Hi MrsS
I pretty much did it all, Feng Shuied my house, slept with a small bag of fertility stones including moonstone and rose quartz under my pillow for a few years, I had a Chinese fertility statue by my bed, I wore a fertility symbol around my neck, hung crystals etc. I eventually gave it all up. Pretty much my last resort was to rub the belly of the fertility statue at Ripley's Believe It Or Not. What worked for me was persistence with IVF, it did take me a while, 10 cycles and 7 embryo transfers, but I have finally made it . Though all of the above did make me feel better at the time, like I was doing that one thing extra, and a little bit of hope is a great thing.
See if you can find TiggerLinda on BB, she has a lovely online store selling all sorts of fertility jewellry.
I see you are just starting assisted conception, I hope you have success right away. Best wishes xx
Not sure what happened, I wrote a whole reply and it disappeared!
MrsS,
My SIL gave me a St Magellan - Patron Saint of Mothers - pendant, when we started IVF. She had been given one when she was on IVF, by a friend who had been given one when she was on IVF. We're not Catholic, but it was a sweet thing to do, and it gave me something to focus on. I wore it on a bracelet during my stim cycle, and my first TWW on IVF.
I still have it on my bedside table, and still pick it up and look at it. I don't wear it anymore, but that's partly because I'm a bit hopeless with jewellery. I guess I also lost 'faith' in it as well - we're on to FET#5, and so far no wishing and hoping or lucky charms have helped. That probably sounds really negative - sorry, I don't mean it to be. I just know that the only strength I can draw on is my inner strength and the love of my DH. Google doesn't offer me any strength, although I sometimes try drawing on that as well Oh, and of course, BellyBelly helps me as well.
GL to you - I hope that you are able to draw strength from somewhere, and think any sort of charm or pendant, etc, is a positive way of expressing your hopes and dreams.
My good friend in Phoenix, Arizona sent me a Kokopelli charm. It's a fertility deity, usually depicted as a hump backed flute player. She sent me a small ornament and a book mark so I can take it wherever I go.
Not sure if it's helped but I like to think of it as my little lucky charm.
I also have a photo of a fertility sculpture which is in Chicago as my screen saver.
Whatever helps and makes us feel more positive, I say it can't hurt!
I have been given a moonstone and a chinese fertility charm, I rub them both daily and took them to the EPO and ET during the last two cycles, and both were BFP. (last one misc at 6 weeks though). I was given a Tiki just before my last cycle, so now I have three charms. I'm still rubbing them daily to keep bubby growing healthily and stick with me till term.
