Erm, just brewed it for the 40 odd min and the smell in the house is making me sick. How on earth am I going to drink this?
Does anybody know any good tricks to get it down?
Ok so I picked p my big bag of Chinese herbs for the tea today. Just gotta cook it up and drink it. It smells so potent! I also had my first acupuncture session today. The needles in my hands kinda hurt a bit, but the rest was fine. Couldn't really relax because of road works outside. But all in all a pleasant experience. I'm still a bit sceptical about all this, we'll see how I go I guess......

Good luck Tasha! When I had raspberry leaf tea which some people love, I hated it so I would brew it up - let it cool and then I would just skull it as fast as possible! Can you add some honey to make it sweeter or something?? When I had acupuncture I had one in more foreheadNow that was odd!
Hold your nose babeI did lots of these although mine were ground into powder so just added to hot water! Good luck x
Oh ew - when I had my one batch of Chinese herb tea and brewed it up, it was vile. I gave up on it. Sorry probably not what you need to hear! But I managed to get a few doses into me by doing what Tan suggested - letting it cool slightly (not too much or mine was even worse) and chugged it back as quick as I could!
If its not working for you, talk to your TCM practitioner as mine stopped after that and we tried other things so I didn't have to have the herbs.
I think the needle in your forehead is for general relaxation/well being.
I had the herbs that were in powder form and just needed hot water. they smelt horrible and rated pretty vile but I felt fantastic while I was taking them so that got me through!! I don't think I've ever felt that good since!

I asked for lots of licorice to be added to my herb mix from the Natropath. It kinda covered the taste enough to chug it down!
I added honey to mine and just gulped it down with a glass of juice ready next.
As for the needles in the head I used to get a few too! Funnily enough I found them the least painful, sometimes barely felt them
The ones in my calves on the the other hand....
I remember this, it stunk the house out for a few days - DH complained & complained!
I found it difficult to get the tea down without gagging or nearly vomitting it back up. I ended up holding my nose, chugged it down then had a a big glass of water on stand by to drink afterwards. It never really got any better for me though :-(
I loved the accupuncture sessions though! Never had any weird side effects from those
FX you won't have to do it for long, GL :-)
It's the worst thing I've ever tasted! I chugged down the whole cup this morning when I got up and almost vomited it back up. And I even held my nose!!
I couldn't taste it while I was drinking, but the after-taste didn't go for about an hourI got straight into the shower after it for work and brushed my teeth and tongue. I am dreading tonights dose, might try mixing it with juice........gosh it's just plain nasty.
Any thoughts on trying to incorporate the herbs in food? Tried drinking my first batch and threw up my dinner! Not pretty! Tried next mixing in some custard but couldn't stomach that either and the taste left in my mouth was disgusting. They are in granule form and dissolve ok in hot water. Smells a lot like coffee but for someone who hates coffee doesn't make it any easier! Thought about making up some muffins as thought they would just have a bit of a coffee taste which could probably be better tolerated in a muffin. Not sure about how they would go in the cooking process though. My TCM doc is now on holiday so can't call for advice.
Strangest spot for acupuncture needle....top of my head. TCM doc almost forgot about it on there and almost had to remind her to take it out. Love the needles though. Most relaxing thing I have ever had.
I would love it if mine tasted like coffee! But it tastes more like bitters. I HATE bitters. I am mixing juice with it and holding my nose while I drinkseems to do the trick.
I used to brew it in as little wate as possible so it could be sculler then have a really nice tasting chaser to follow up like thick mango juice or something. Something that sticks to the sides of your mouth and masks it a bit. Tha LLama poo I am drinking now the herbs are already dessicated into a powder so I can just dissolve them in a mouthful of not water and the haze it down.
