we are looking into getting Private Health Cover and was wondering which one is the best for IVF?
we wont be doing a cycle anytime soon, but when we do decide to go for another round, i want to make sure that my private health is the best one for it
also could you give me a rough idea of how much your paying a month? only if your comfortable revealing such private information

We're with HBF (which is probably only best in WA) and pay around 350/quarter. But that's only intermediate level cover so we don't get full payments on the theatre fees etc.
It's probably worth it if you have to do multiple cycles, though in saying that you'd have to check the fine print to see what limits there are on payments for AC-related claims. Remember you'll have to wait out a 12-month period before you can claim too (so you'll have paid big bucks for a year before you can claim anything - worth considering against cost of IVF without PHI).
Good luck! woudl be nice if you didn't need it after all...
You can go to the website iselect dot com dot au and browse all the different health funds to see what suits. If you go through their questions one of the choices is for IVF, so you'd get the health funds that provide coverage for this.
I was under the impression that it was basically Medicare that covered / rebated for IVF? PHI covers hossy fees and some pharmaceutical... I'm with MBF Hospital and Young Extras, we pay $230 a month, but the majority of things to do with IVF will be claimed through Medicare I think
