Your acupuncture story

Hi Ladies,

So i started acupuncture this Tuesday. It wasn't too bad actually, i was totally nervous because I am scared of needles but it didnt hurt that much.

Anyway, the acupuncture treatment is for my infertility (tried 2yrs, clomid failed, PCOS).

So can some of you ladies who have tried it shed some light on whether it worked or didnt work for you?

I've tried it three times.

First time was after 12 failed ttc cycles, and we got ewcm for the first time ever (and ovulation spotting) - got bfp and eventually dd1.

Second time - she did something weird and I had a burst cyst only an hour or so after finishing treatment with her. Weird.

Third time - combined with IUI this cycle, heading to a cp.

Best of luck with it. If anything, it's a relaxing treat.

I personally didn't have success but only did it for a short time including the herbs.

I conceived DD under the care of a naturopth after 2 m/c & ttc for 13 months. (this was prior to the above)

I am back seeing a naturopath (different one) but have also lost nearly 10 kg and am eating alot better and exercising and have noticed an increase in EWCM and 'O' like pains (not sure if I O b/c I am not temping etc...).

My gf saw the same accupuncturist as me when going through IVF & fell pg with her DD (now 2 yo) after multiple m/c and ttc for over 3 years

i had huge success with acupuncture!
We had tried for 10 years to conceive and had only had success with IVF.
Previously we had tried natropathy, chlomid, diet, - really anything that was out there!
I went and saw a TCM guy who specialised in womens health.
He said that the reason that I hadnt conceived was that i was ovulating on a different day than the lining was thick enough for inplantion.
He said that it would take 6 months of treatments to get my body in sync.

6 months on the dot we conceived naturally!!!!!!!
An absolute miracle!
Total convert and beliver that it was the acupunture that made the difference.

Thanks ladies! I am also on the herbs as well (gross they are) but at least they dont take long to cook as opposed to the way mum use to cook the natural form ones.

Another total covert here! I turned to acupuncture and tcm after not having af for 10 months. Within 2 months af returned, and I got a bfp on my second cycle. The herbs and needles were definitely worth every penny in my opinion. Good luck with your continuing journey x

there are some scientific reports somewhere saying people who do acu while doing ivf have a higher chance of a BFP

I started acu with my naturopath about 3 years ago after getting very sick just after my first IVF cycle.

i did acu but it never seemed to coencide with transfers

This time i did acu one day after 2 embies transferred ( that was just a coincidence to my booking time) and finally got my BFP
I love it
and am still doing it during pregnancy

I had acupuncture once in the July and fell pregnant with a non viable baby in the September, coincidence? I dont know. That was after 4.5 years of TTC and 11 cycles of failed IVF.
