2 d&c's and AF

dont know if i have posted in the right thread ( sorry mods )

Just wondering when i will get af? i had 2 d&c's with in 6 days of each other and dont know when af will show?

i have a 28 day cycle my last d&c was on the 14th so will af show in 28 days? have never had d&c before so dont know if you count the day you had the d&c as day 1 of your cycle??? also will af be normal or a little different for a few cycles given the loss of the baby, 2 d&c's and the infection from d&c's?? dont know what to expect and want to sort of be prepared

from what i understand, after a lost pregnancy your cycle can, and usually will, be all over the shop - it's almost impossible to predict when she will show up. some people go back to a 28 day cycle immediately, but most will have hinky cycles for at least a "cycle" or two

just wasnt to sure if having a d&c would stuff my cycle up and i wasnt too sure what day i would count as cd1.

like you said its hard to predict the future, so will just have to sit tight and see what happens

Hi m2c- well, last year I had 3 d&cs (two were related to the ectopic, as there was one in my uterus, then they realised there was one still in the tube...and then one after my miscarriage in oct)... my cycle took about 5 weeks after the D&C... so about a week longer than normal. My OB said to expect AF anywhere from 4-6 weeks because each woman is different...I know for others, it's taken up to 8 weeks. It was the second cycle after the D&C that we conceived naturally, by some miracle....and that cycle was back to normal (ie I ovulated around day 14)...so I guess my cycles bounced back to normal fairly quickly. It was the same after the other D&Cs...about a 5-6 week cycle, then back normal after that.

i think my cycle must be going straight back to normal cos i am ovulating and to be honest i want nothing to do with the ovulating this month, i am still to angry and hurt to want to try for a baby straight away. but on the good side at least my cycle looks like its going back to the way it was.

Well, at least your body is bouncing back so when you are ready, you'll know what your cycles are doing. Take all the time you need to heal and grieve...anger and bitterness is part of the process! I have felt my share of those emotions and I think it's normal. It does get easier.
